Iḿ trying to find information about being in starvation mode. Ive been eating about 1200 calories a day, but also going to the gym - basically the internet is telling me that I need to eat-back the calories I burnt in my Zumba class this morning or else apparently (or at least eventually) I will end up messing up my weight loss plan.
Ive never really heard of this before. Seems crazy. Ive only started dieting an exercising again about 7 days ago. I remember when my sister was on Weight Watchers years ago if she did some exercise she was allowed to eat a little more, but didnt nessicarily have to.
Does anyone know the answer?
Do I have to eat more?
PART TWO:
I was thinking about increasing my exercise. ATM Iḿ going to five 1 hour classes a week.
But obviously if Iḿ already not eating enough maybe thats a bad idea...

you should try to eat as close to 1200 calories as you can each day. If you exercise, it's up to you whether you want to eat those extra calories or not. Some do, some don't. I usually eat half of the calories I burned plus my 1200. = )0

The way MFP works is they already count in a deficit. sooo....
1200 calorie diet
FOOD - EXERCISE = NET ( GOAL)
1200 - 400 = 800 ( 1200)
so you would have to eat back your calories your exercised off other wise you are -400 calories for the day and that is bad.0 -
I personally don't like to eat more when I work out.. I think it almost defeats the purpose of working out. I think if you don't eat back your exercise calories, you'll just see results faster. I know a while back I was working out like crazy. Not only was I on my feet running back and forth in a factory for 8 hours a day (yay summer college work) but I was also working out at home walking three miles a day. I stayed within my point value (i was doing ww at the time) and I NEVER counted the exercise. Boy did I drop weight like crazy. I dropped 25 pounds in six weeks. but I never ate back my exercise calories.
To this day, even on MFP, I don't like to eat back my calories. If i go over a bit, the exercise cals keep me from feeling bad, but I think it's more of a personal choice.0 -

not eating exercise cals can put you in starvation mode which will stall your weight loss as will slow down your metabolism. i recently did an experiment of eating them back, check it out here if you'd like:http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/BeautyFromPain
You would not run a car or no fuel would you?
Also, if you do this and get very hungry, and get frustrated you may give up.
Exercise is good for you so you do not become skinny fat, and this is how you truly change your body.

Also if you need more info, feel free to search the forums. There is a LOT of information around about exercise calories.0
