Hi everyone!

All my life I’ve been through a lot of different difficulties with losing weight. This brought me to a point where I’m not comfortable with myself, I’m not confident at all and I don’t have the motivation to start. I’m starting a new path and I hope that will help me to achieve my goals.

Is this an active group? I am starting low calorie diet Thursday, and would like other like minded friends. I’ve tried so many diets which didn’t last. I am excited to do this for health!

@Yellowgold54 this is a thread on the community boards, and only has a few posts. It’s not a group.

You’ll need to scroll to the top and look for “groups” and find a group that fits your goals. Many groups are dead so you’ll have to search for one that has recent activity.

A better bet might be to go to the community board called “challenges”. Those are more active and are ordered by most recent post so they’re easier to see if they’re active and what type of group. I’m currently in a 100 day challenge that’s mostly 60+ members.

Not sure by what you mean by “low calories”. Be aware, if your diet is under 1200/day (unless you’re very very short) you’ll get kickback here. Most regulars here believe slow and considered loss that you can learn to maintain is better than jackrabbit starts, quitting, a fresh jackrabbit start, etc etc etc.

    Welcome aboard!

Tell us a little about your goals and what your path looks like. You've got to have a destination in mind or you're just wandering. Goals are a really good start. The next critical step is developing plans to work towards them and then sticking to the plan almost all of the time.

@Lorianivan9 Welcome. "The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step" -Lao Tzu. You can do this. It is all a mater of mindset. It isn't easy every day. My advice is simple. Start with a single change. Next week make another change. When you are ready make a 3rd. Make each change to make you better. Weight loss might be what you think is the goal, but in the end it is about being happy with you. For me it was axing beer from my life. Then changing out fast food with slight better fast food. Then cooking for me. Then walking. When i'm ready it will be running and or light weights.
Good luck in your journey if you have questions ask and people will answer:

    Hi Lorianivan,
When I start to doubt myself, I turn my thoughts to simple accomplishments I have made. I know my inner voice is very critical and seldom points out the positives. I hope you will look for and find your positives, not the least of which is your willingness to keep trying. Hooray for you !

Sadly, OP was a One Post Wonder. It’s the ones who come back that we keep plugging away to cheer on.

I feel so bad for the ones who don’t stay and don’t learn or experience what weight loss can do for them.

Climbing through the ball pit and maze with my granddaughter this past week: priceless!

Obese me’s first thought would have simply been “but will it bear my weight?”

It is very common here. It is probably why not a lot of people bother with new posters. When I made my first post I didn't know how to bookmark and no one at'd me so I didn't know I had a replies. Then there is just the fact that people make post and never look again...
