For snacks I have:
low fat cottage cheese with a fruit cup no added sugar.
hard boiled egg
greek yogurt (I had a hard time finding one I liked...but Dannon light and fit is good)
low fat cheese sticks
For meals, right now I depend a bit on lean cuisine....they have some pretty high protein ones that take a lot of guess work out.
good luck!0 -

Those have a heap of sodium. Omelettes with veggies, chicken with salsa is my go-to (especially fruity salsa), ground turkey, salmon with mustard, there is a lot of deliciousness0 -
thank you i am trying to keep my sodium down because of my blood pressure : )0

Re: Lean Cuisine...I know they are rather high in sodium...taking one step at a time. I do not have a problem with BP or salt intake...and sometimes when life gets in the way it is a better option for me. And some are not too bad re: sodium. But if you have high BP to begin with, yeah, I would avoid. :ohwell:1

I'm going for more protein than carbs too, and so my diet consists of A LOT of chicken breasts! I just cook or season them differently so I don't feel quite like I'm always eating the same thing... I also cook like 5 - 6 chicken breasts on the weekends so I have them ready for lunches with a quick veggie or salad, or dinner if I need to.
I also eat egg whites with chunky salsa in the mornings, which seem to sustain me more than a bagel or something! I also eat a lot of tilapia- same idea as the chicken- it's such a mild fish you can flavor it in so many ways.0 -
I'm new here and 73. I have stage 4 copd so nearly impossible to work out. I must lose 80 lbs to improve mobility and live longer. Anyone have suggestions that would do this but not require alot of everyday cooking?0

I only eat God's foods.... no packaged meals. My husband is the opposite and he came down with Crohn's Disease. I see the sodium levels in the prepared foods as very bad for my health. I prefer to take a little extra time for myself and eat real food from the garden or the farm.1

This week I've made what's a high protein lunch for me: chicken mince browned with garlic and spices, added to oven roasted pumpkin, sweet potato and kale. Topped with ricotta because I get hangry without enough fats.
It's pretty easy to modify this - pick some veggies you like, stick them in the oven and add your protein afterwards. Can also top with nuts, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, or whatever your favourite salad dressings are. You can mix fruits in too.
You can make it more of a meal with quinoa, lentils, beans, rice depending on what your carb/protein/fat goals are.0 -
Cambodian beef lok lak. Forgive the well used recipe card. I got it from a cooking class I took while on vacation in Cambodia. I make extra stir fry sauce to keep in a squeeze bottle in the fridge, which speeds up subsequent renditions of the dish. Can be made with chicken or prawns.
