Hey there and Happy Weekend!!! I have been going to the gym 5-6 days a weeks for over two months now. I have been not feeling 100% this week, but still going and getting my exercise. I also joined a running class to learn to run for longer than 1 min at a time:laugh: I woke up today and didnt want to go to the class I go to most saturdays. That scares me.... I don't want to get out of my new great habit! So I looked at the gym schedule and decided to go to yoga....stretch, strenghen, clear my mind. Now I am thinking maybe I will run on the treadmill for alittle while since I have running class Monday and we are suppose to run 2 times a week on our own.

So my question is.....should I run before or after my yoga class??????????????????

Thanks MFP's ~ enjoy your weekend :glasses:

Personally, I like stretching after running. Good luck with your running class.

I'd run before...the yoga will relax your mind, stretch your muscles. It'll feel great after the run!

sure, why not? a nice run outside or on the treadmill is a nice way to warm up the body before a yoga practice. just be sure to not overdue it. i would suggest no longer than 20-30 minutes...along with keeping it low to medium intensity. depending on the yoga you pick, the practices can be very intense, especially if you are not accustomed. yet, again it all depends. good luck and enjoy!

    ps. love your profile pic!

Personally I like getting cardio in before I do any real stretching/yoga or strength training. It gets my muscles all warmed up and makes my stretches much deeper.

(I'm actually about to head out the door right now to a Zumba class, then straight to my yoga class)

Personally, I would run before the Yoga class. That way, you can get a good stretch in on those muscles after running. Maybe you can prevent soreness with the Yoga. :)
  • In my experience, running before yoga is a great way to get your heart rate up and muscles warmed up before the stretching that comes in yoga. I love running, but it tightens you up, and yoga can be such a nice calming finish! Good luck and enjoy :)

THANKS!!!! Running first it is!!! Julie I just love Zumba!!! Have fun. Oscarboy11 thanks for the shout out on the pic. It was fun to meet her, she was wonderful...but I guess it is in her best interest to be great so she could sell books and clothes, if we were working out it would be a different story

    I LOVE MFP!!!!!!
