Reflecting on goals

As you can see by my ticker below, I had hoped to be down to 200lbs by this Monday, my 2nd wedding anniversary. Well, not there, and I am ok with that. I am currently 215 and after losing 52lbs since mid-March, I am ok with the slower pace that I am now in. In the beginning, losing 2-5lbs a week was the norm and it was flying off of me with minimal effort, but now as there is less of me to lose (but plenty still I have to say) it is coming off less easily. When I set these goals I was losing 10lbs a month easily, and therefore I had every right to be ambitious in thinking I would be there by this date. My new goal is now to be 200 by Christmas, which at this pace is more realistic and achievable. What I am basically trying to say is, be ok with where you're at. Set goals, but don't feel defeated if you don't hit the mark as quickly as you hoped. I am happier knowing that I will get there while not starving myself or compromising "me" to get there, than doing those things and then not keeping up with it once I do.
Keep up the great work everyone!

Good job on the awesome loss so far, and good job being flexible and not defeated by the "changing of the goals". You have the right attitude and that will encourage success. AND, Happy Anniversary!0

Happy Anniversary, and congratulations on the 50+ so far. It is good you aren't becoming defeated by the slower progress. Progress is still progress. There is a saying something like : 'steady as she goes'...Your encouraging words are helpful to all of us in this life-diet rearranging process. This post reminds me of when I went back to school to finish my degree..I would say to myself 'geez, I'll be 38 before I am done' (seemed old at the time ) and then I'd say back to myself 'well I'll be 38 someday, but now I'll also have a degree!!' So, you can say 'Christmas is farther away than I planned...but Christmas is going to come anyway'..hope that makes sense..
anywho, good job!0 -
