After reading a few books and discussing with a few people..... there are few things i came across..... like small little tricks or perhaps habits that can make a lot of difference in our daily life.......

a few very interesting ones were eg....

~ Use a smaller plate..automatically your portions would decrease....
~Never watch television while having your meal....
~Chew your food really properly before you swallow it and eat slowly......

Most of these are pretty common and everyone knows about them......

So i was just wondering what all small small habits all you follow in your daily life to keep yourself healthy.... or may b trick yourself into keeping yourself fit??????

I usually get up right away after I eat.. I don't sit at the table .
I usually drink a full glass of water before each meal..
  • I make my own versions of my favorite foods like the chinese take out rice meals using brown rice with a lot of vegetables or a burrito with more vegetables & less rice and its beef I cook without oil & remove the excess oil. So in this way I won't feel deprived.

To me there are no "tricks," just discipline. For instance, I use a smaller plate? I'll just have more portions. People say use a smaller fork to take smaller bites, to me that just means I'll take MORE bites.

I don't like the idea of trying to fool myself. This is my life, and the only way to get results is to work toward it. If I have to rely on a bunch of "tricks" to fool myself into eating right, I'm just setting myself up for failure anytime I'm in a situation where I don't have control (as in, at a friend's house where they only have large plates, etc.)

Mind over matter. Really. Self-discipline. Self-worth. Motivation. WILL power, not won't power.

Fooling myself was how I got like this.

Telling myself the truth is how I overcome.

    Works for me.

I remind myself of what I've already eaten that day - it makes me feel more satisfied and less hungry.
