I feel like ever since losing weight, I am always so so cold! I still have a decent portion of body fat--thin people can't be this cold all the time, right?! Do you think my body will get used to it? Anyone else experience this?

You should get your thyroid gland get; it might be that.0

Honu its natural, I was always hot all the time when I was fat, and now they I am slender I am cold all the time. You simply dont have the natural coat of fat covering you anymore.
I've never gotten used to it lol0 -
I've been a lot more cold natured since losing weight, I figured it was due to losing my "insulation", lol.0

I have that too but I'm hypothyroid. I swear I'm gonna start bringing gloves to work. Gloves I can type with lol I hope you get used to the change in body fat and your body will do something to fix that.. but yeah might be worth going for a check up and asking for a test of your TSH, free T3, free T40

I used to be cold, but just wait a few years til "perry-men-o-paws' sets in, that will nip that cold feeling in the bud!0

I've had the opposite problem. Since I've lost the weight, I've been warm all the time. I used to have to pull on the Snuggie all the time (even the summer). But now, I'm running around the house barefoot and in shorts...even when it's 40 degrees outside like today.0

I'm cold all the time too since losing weight but I'm also hyperthyroid (graves disease) and on meds to control.0

I was always told it was a thyroid condition or loss of insulation and this was what my doctor told me too. I was reading a weight maintenance blog that said that for people who consistently eat a calorie deficit every day, like many people who stick to weight loss goals on mfp, the body goes into starvation mode and shuts down systems in order to save energy. One of these systems is body temperature regulation which stops producing enough heat for comfort and "turns down the thermostat" to support essential body functions. Don't know if its true, but the theory makes intuitive sense.0

Have your iron and ferritin levels checked. I'm anemic (low ferritin, though my iron is fine) and cold nearly all the time.0

Agree. Def get checked out. My co workers wife had the same issue and it was her thyroid0 -
I've always been cold, even when obese. Now that I've started to lose weight (I'm still in the obese range), I've gotten even colder. I have to wear a blanket around me at my desk and everyone else complains that it is too hot! I've had my thyroid checked 6 times and I'm not anemic. I chalk it up to genetics and also to the fact that my regulating system isn't working as well because my body is adjusting to a calorie deficit.0

As a two time loser (2nd time losing he same 30 pounds) I can say I experienced the same thing both times. I'm ok when its warm but now that the weather is getting chillier, I find I need to add more layers of clothing than I used to.0

I always go chilly when I drop under a certain amount.0

I'm always on the colder side too. I've never gotten anything check out related to that tho...wondering if I should. Lol, this time of year I always want to snuggle up to someone warm or wear a big comfy sweater0

I have always been cold - even when I was thinner- Especially my icy hands & feet. My dad used to make fun of me & say I was the only person he's ever known to wear sweatshirts in the summer in AZ- of course that was inside...0

I am freezing for the last couple months. My insulation is going away0
