Beginer Yoga question.....

So I started doing yoga a while back. Which is much more work then I expected, but I am very happy doing it.
My question is, I notice I can't go very long through it without feeling nausea. I don't normally get this with cardio or other strength training. What is this from? What can I do to prevent it?
Thanks in advance Joey

Hmm, I've never had that happen. Make sure you're doing it on an empty stomach.0

It sounds like you need to eat something about 1 hr before working out.0

Typically for me when I feel nausea is lack of proper breathing. Form and breathing to your limits.0

I start to fell nausated during workouts if I haven't eaten much0

This happens to me on occasion when I miss class for a while...it never last long. Stick with it regularly and it should pass. I also like to eat Snackwell's high protein cerial bar and water about 20 min. before class:)0

I love yoga, and had never felt like that doing it. All I can suggest is that you check your breathing. Hope it sorts itself out, yoga is such a great way to exercise mentally & physically. x0

Could be eating too much or not enough before the class? I sometimes felt a bit dizzy with moving my head around and upside down etc.0

I get neasous all the time doing yoga. I think is has something to do with the movement and the fluid in my body. Yoga is very good for clearing toxins out of the body. Maybe try drinking more water after class. The more you practice yoga the less neasous you will become (I have found)0

Don't eat a meal for at least 3 hours before your class! Easier said than done, but try to have a snack instead of a meal if you can- it makes a huge difference. Also, don't gulp water before or during the class, take smaller sips more frequently.
Also, no matter how much I follow this advice, I feel nausea during hot yoga class- this is a signal to my body that I need to take a break in childs pose, take a couple breaths and take a sip of water.
These tips help me, hopefully they help you, and welcome to the wonderful world of yoga!0 -
I would think of three suspects to watch out for:
- making sure to eat something light two or three hours before class
- drinking lots of water throughout the day so you are hydrated
- breathing through all your poses
I do hot yoga which is a little different, but usually when I have problems it's due to one of those.0 -

Also when I tense my shoulders and neck without realizing it.0 -
thank you for all your advice i normally eat a snack about 2 hrs before......but hydrating and breathing are both things i could work0
