I just give in to my cravings. I found that rather than fight the craving and eat something that I don't want, I will let myself eat half of whatever it is that I'm craving and it goes away. Plus I don't end up eating twice or snacking all day long.

Everyone has a bad day. I haven't been at this long, but I think everyone gives into temptation some times. And like you said, we just work hard the next day. :)

not sure why you consider only 280 cals of ice cream a bad day, how much did you go over your TDEE for the day or even with the ice cream were you still in a deficit? one day doesn't sabotage a diet...

Eating a cup of ice cream isn't having a bad day! I know you feel bad, but...it's o-kay! Did you eat a gallon of ice cream? No! Eat some yummy ice cream and enjoy it! 280 calories is FINE. Not a problem. You don't need to work it off tomorrow. Fit it into today's calorie allotment, or go over a little, and move on. I'm not disregarding the fact that you feel like you messed up. But don't be so hard on yourself! It's o-kay to eat sweets. Are you planning on going the rest of your life without eating ice cream? Probably not. So, the goal is to figure out how to be able to eat ice cream without feeling bad and without eating the whole flipping container. So really, the fact that you just ate a cup of ice cream actually means...you're doing great!!!

next time try brushing your teeth! If you're not hungry (for real) and you're just "wanting" and not wanting to "want" brush, floss and mouthwash it away. Works for me! A clean mouth helps wash away temptations.

Your bad day doesn't sound too bad at all. My "bad day" binges usually contain numerous candy bars, ice cream, and sugary cereal. The best thing you can do right now is just drink a ton of water and get a good nights sleep. Better luck tomorrow.

I try not to torture myself by not eating the things I really enjoy and sometimes crave BUT, I do figure them into my daily diet and try to add extra minutes to my workout to make up for the calories..(i.e., 1 cup of ice cream = 280 calories = 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4.0 incline.....) then I have the control when I am truly sitting on that fence of something that I just can't do without and maybe have a much smaller portion of it to satisfy the moment without going overboard. I do my exercises at the end of the day, so if I go over.. I KNOW I will add that extra routine in before I stop for the night so I can get as close to my goal as possible.

Just move forward...no biggie..we can indulge as long as we know next time..moderation is the key to success.. plus if you have this mad craving every now and then..just plan for a workout prior, because..you just never know what loop gets thrown your way...I know my days are crazy..and so I have to kill my workouts almost everyday..haha..but that's just me..

    Have a great weekend!

Eating a cup of ice cream is not a "bad day". If you are craving something, then have it in moderation...don't eliminate the foods that you enjoy but try to have less of it. I have eliminates a lot of sweets from my house, but I still have ice cream in my freezer and have about 1/2 a cup once in awhile....but with exercise and eating properly I have been able to continue to loss weight.
