Coming off Mounjaro

I am new to the group. I have reached my weight loss goal of 225 lbs. down from 290lbs using Mounjaro. I want to now maintain my weight and ween myself off the Mounjaro for good. It's a miracle drug that worked well for me but I don't want to take it forever. I am 67 years old, in good health and have come off of some medications because of the weight loss. I go to the gym every day with 1/2 hour of either elliptical machine or stationary bike and 1/2 hour of various weights. Looking forward to keeping up with my food intake, calories, etc. with this app.

    Hello, and welcome!

Congratulations on reaching your weight goal: I know how wonderful that is. I'm about your age (currently 69), and am also maintaining loss here, after losing weight by calorie counting back in 2015-16.

I've found some of the threads in the Goal: Maintaining Weight topic area of the MFP Community to be helpful in establishing some helpful long-term habits to stay at a healthy weight. Might I suggest you take a look there, especially in the Most Helpful Posts subsection there, but really anything that might catch your eye?

Especially when I was transitioning from loss to maintenance, I felt like I benefitted from reading posts there from people who'd been maintaining a while.

    I'm wishing you continuing success!

    Hello and welcome!
Congratulations on reaching goal, and even more for getting off some medicines.
We've heard from lots of people starting or thinking about starting weight loss drugs like mounjaro, but you're the first I remember that was coming off them. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes.
Good luck with maintenance! Doesn't that sound good?!? Maintaining! I love it ❤️

Well, good luck and I hope your successful. Be mindful of the fact that the lack of the hormonal regulation that made it work so well for you will be discontinued and suspect your going to have to recognize some old urges and make the best of it. :)
