Is that true?1

Would @frankwbrown lie?1

Wouldn't one need to check all 3,455 pages in order to ascertain with absolute certainty that there are in fact 30 posts per page? Can you guess that I have not done this? And even then, wouldn't the possibility remain that a future page might not follow that pattern?AdahPotatah2024 wrote: »Is that true?
Conversely, wouldn't one need find only one page with more or fewer posts than 30 to prove it isn't so? 🤔
Do I hear any volunteers? 😂

If I take it on may I borrow an additional two hands to use for counting?1
-
So, you already have four hands?
Wouldn't two hands suffice if you counted in base 6 or even base 5?

Although I used to be able to count in base 2 and base 16 in high school, isn't it amazing how quickly those skills go away when not used in everyday life?0

Aren’t I allowed to use my feet?? Or are toes not allowed for counting?0 -
You certainly are, but while I wondered if you could/would, wouldn't I personally have difficulty wiggling my toes in such a controlled manner?JTLifts1983 wrote: »If I take it on may I borrow an additional two hands to use for counting?frankwbrown wrote: »So, you already have four hands?

But can you imagine using a finger to point to each toe in sequence, then switching to another finger to continue counting again with the same toes, then a third finger, and so on?

If I were to try that counting method, can you imagine which finger I'd likely hold up? 😎0

Wouldn't it be easier to sample counting..say..20 pages and then assume if it is true on those it'll be true for the entire thread?:D0
-
-
Yes, that would be the sensible thing to do, but like all scientific theories, can't we only assume it to be true because it hasn't been proven false? But in this case, don't I think it would be a safe bet?AdahPotatah2024 wrote: »Wouldn't it be easier to sample counting..say..20 pages and then assume if it is true on those it'll be true for the entire thread?:D

Should the 30th post for every thread be "please go to page ..." for all the new people?1
-
Good idea, but don't you mean "[Won't you] please go to page ___?" (for this thread at least)? 😉0

Isn't it too late for this one? 🥲0

If that feature is no more, how come a few people still get to use it? Why allow existing signatures to continue but not allow new ones? Shouldn't all existing signatures disappear if it is truly "no more?"
Can you figure out how to do that please? Do you think that , they would show up retroactively? Can you imagine what our page count would be if that were the case?frankwbrown wrote: »
Wouldn't the page count remain the same? Aren't there 30 posts per page despite the length/brevity of posts? If that feature is no more, how come a few people still get to use it? Can you figure out how to do that please? Do you think if we’re successful, they would show up retroactively? Can you imagine what our page count would be if that were the case?
Has it always been that way??0 -
Before the great MFP database blip, were not threads actually 25 posts per page?1
-
Did you already know this or did you look it up?
Did you not read the announcement by the MFP Staff when they made the change to try to make it easier for people to locate the last page of actual posts rather than the empty pages after? Are you as confused as I am how this was supposed to make any actual change in that scenario?1 -
Totally confused now😂🤷🏻♀️
How long is a piece of string?1 -
Isn’t it as long as you want it to be?0

Are we talking the astrophysical string theory? Or more mundane Earth-bound strings?1

or are you just stringing us along?1

Why did I tie this string around my finger? Shouldn’t I just put reminders in my phone like a normal person?1

How does tying a string around your finger ensure you’ll remember the reason you did it in the first place?

Perhaps if one end of the string is tied to your finger, and the other end is tied to whatever it is you're supposed to remember?2
