New to MyFitness

Greetings,
I thought I'd use the discussion space to find support for my health changes. I just had an appendectomy that burst and kept me in the hospital almost a week. My diabetes (type 2) kept my white blood cells high. I'm hoping the surgery and hospitalization will lead to some changes that I need to make in terms of weight, diet, exercise. I'm also hoping this app gives some assistance. I know that I need to do the work, but I haven't made much progress in the last years or so, so I'm ready to try something new. I did attend Overeaters Anonymous for a few months which was moderately helpful, but didn't quite fit.

I look forward to hearing from others working on their health/fitness.
Thanks,
Seth

Best thing you can do is start tracking. Make it a consistent habit. Look at the things that use up a lot of calories but you don't really care about, and start either switching them out for lower calorie options or just cut them out. Eat vegetables and fruits. Lots of them. I think many people underestimate how important they are. Just stick with it and you'll get there!
