Fell off the challenge bandwagon in round 256, managed to keep losing weight until June 12th when I hit 155.9 (70.7 kg). I fell off the weight loss wagon shortly after. Decided to start back up the day before Round 278 started.

    SW Rnd 282: 155 (70.3 kg)
    12/22-155.3 (70.4 kg)
12/23- 156 (70.8 kg) Not surprised after a night out with meatloaf, mashed potatoes and brown gravy and a side of chili for dinner. We did walk the boardwalk to see the Christmas lights after dinner since it was a mild night and only sprinkling a tiny bit. It's been unseasonably warm, about 43° (6° C) last night and the wind wasn't blowing either.
    12/24- 155.9 (70.7 kg)
It was supposed to be a 1/2 day at work followed by finishing prep for hosting Christmas Eve. This morning as almost every morning for over 2.5 years my husband took the dog for an off leash run in the field. Same loop, same routine as always. This time, for some reason he ran out of the field and was struck by a car. It was dark and raining. It wasn't their fault. The emergency vet said he wasn't going to make it. We had to put him down. They were going to hold off for the 40 minutes it would take to get there from work, but they couldn't. I got to say goodbye through speakerphone. We still hosted because family is important. I didn't track. I have a dog sized hole in my heart, but I'm sticking to the plan of getting rid of most of the leftover sweets after tomorrow. I cannot fill this hole with food.
12/25- 154.7 (70.2 kg) 40 pounds down from my high weight in April 2020. Brother-in-law made bacon, sausage gravy and biscuits for brunch.
12/26-155.3 (70.4 kg) I took an extra day off work today. Spent some quality time with my husband. Got some much needed sleep. All of the baked goods are out of the house and 90% of the candy. I had the option to be out tomorrow too, but I didn't want to use the PTO and staying busy is good.
12/27- 157.1 (71.3) Ring feels tight today. I usually don't bother taking it off before bed, but I am tonight. I think I need to drink more water.
12/28- 156.3 (70.9 kg) Over calories, under maintenance. I call that a win. Didn't do well with prioritizing water. Need to remind myself to stay hydrated.
12/29- 155.1 (70.4 kg) No matter where I end this round, I'll still weigh less than I did at the start of the year. Stuffed tonight from a dinner of crockpot turkey breast, roasted potatoes and turkey gravy made with the drippings from the crockpot and white wine.
    12/30
    12/31

@itladyee Thank you for asking. Evenings have been hardest for me, while it's mornings for my husband, but we're doing our best to share happy memories of Finn and his shenanigans. 6sjl0ei13va8.jpg

Hi, I'm Charissa, losing the battle but still fighting the war!

Thank you, QuiltingJaine, for keeping us focused in 2024!
I'm gearing up mentally and physically for 2025
With just 10 days left, I am focusing on reinforcing good habits and introducing a few more to take me into the new year. Not focusing on the scale for now. I am also happy this round ends on 12/31 and we start the year FRESH and ENGAGED :)

    Opening Comments from round 281
I'm ending another year NOT where I want to be, actually slightly higher  (right now)and that's not a good thing.
BUT ~ I fear to think where I might be had I just thrown in the towel completed.
My goal for the remainder of 2024 is to get to my starting weight for 2024, and that will be two years in a row, which is a wash.
Putting all into perspective - maintaining is a WIN
In the last 27 years, I have
    * Lost 4 times  (2 were in the last 5 years, which answers the question of what if I didn't even try!)
    * Maintained 2 times
    * Gained 21 times

2024... my motto(s) -  All the things I need to read daily!!!
🏋🏾‍♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
    H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾‍♀️
Note to Self: Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!🚫🍷

    Goals this round:
    Resuming structure~Goals and Targets
    🚶🏽- Closing my rings M-S
    🏋️‍♀️- Strength training  3x/week
    🍎- Tracking/Under Calorie Budget > Plan for 1250 - Flex for 400 = 1650  (1250 - 1650) with small frequent meals
    ✅ - Macros - hit Protein > Plan for 150.  100 is acceptable.  (100 - 150)
    💧- Water - 50 oz minimum
    ⬇️- Downward trend

    SW RND 282 - 227.2
Dates = Weight ; Comments regarding prior day.
12/22 ~ 227.4 ~ tomorrow’s number will not be pretty. I actually made the cookies on Saturday and did really well. I think I had two. Today, not so much, I’ve made up for restraint I had. Tis the season and It’s only one day. While I make several types, there are only two that I really like and they are almost gone! Yipee!!!
12/23 228.3 ~ totally expected. Now that I’ve gotten those cookies out of my system, we should start moving downward!
12/24 DNW ~ I did, but I’m not taking ownership :) I’m a bit melancholy today but responding to post is helping…. Just that time of the year and the reflections. I think I need to work on building new traditions vs focusing on what was. I’m riding out through the end of the year and ready to hit 2025 like it stole something!!
    12/25 229.3 Merry Christmas Everyone!
12/26 228.1 Christmas was nice, nothing too out of the ordinary. Today was travel day as I took my sister back home (about 1.5 hours one way). Did splurge for lunch/dinner (Mexican). It was good, but my stomach wasn’t quite happy with the sudden overload! TMI, I know…. I was invited to a last minute party for tomorrow but I'm a little "peopled" out...so not sure if I will attend.
    22/27 227.7
12/28 228.1 ~ didn’t go to the party. Instead watched a few episodes of a miniseries, went to bed and slept in! Got out and got a good outside walk…felt great.
12/29 228.1. End of year count down. I’m ready. I made a nice comfort meal today but had it for lunch and I also made cinnamon rolls but I put half of them away in the freezer. Kinda like the prisoner's last meal :)
12/30 229.0 ~ Cinnamn rolls! They were pretty good for my first attempt.
    12/31

@desolate_angel ~ oh how handsome. Looks like a lab mix maybe? Yes, remember the fun and how Finn made you laugh!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

@slimmersixties ~ you are killing it!! nice work!

@reshii_devi ~ so sorry for your loss. It's terrible anytime, but around the holidays, just adds insult to injury. Praying for you.

@kristawatkins52 ~ the ICE waters are good too. Hopefully you can find a decent substitute. Half the battle is just putting something in your hand other than water and of course alcohol. :) The juice brand is Ocean Spray. Happy Birthday to your daughter!

@Skyleen75 ~ Take it easy in the gym and enjoy your extravagant meal tomorrow. There's plenty of time in 2025 to reign it all back in!

@blueberries59 ~ you are doing very well!!

@Chapter_3 ~ I totally understand. When you said you were REALLY good, that implies sacrifices and you would have expected to see a better result on the scale. BUT...continue to stay the course and let's see if tomorrow surprises you! While you did REALLY well, you also changed up things, and your body could still be reacting. Wishing you well!

@UTMom81 ~ You've got this. All that walking will help! :)

@deepwoodslady ~ I don't like that trend app very much. Not very motivating or supportive. But then... that's why you have us!! One day at a time.

    @Capewrathultra ~ reboot = success!!!

    Thanks, Charissa! 🤗

    @Chapter_3 I’m confused, it’s 12/30 and you already have your 12/31 weight??

    “Note: ⚖️ 12/31/23 = 131.0. So I’m EXACTLY same weight.” What I wrote was indeed confusing….

⚖️this morn 12/30 was 131.0. On 12/31/23 my weight was also 131.0. I was comparing my weight this morn to last year’s closest recorded weight. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

    I’m glad you asked!!! ❤️

Hello everyone. I'm happy to have found this group
I'm Lis, 61 from the uk but have lived in Spain for 22 years
Started on mfp in August 2021 at 276lb
Reached goal in December 2022 189lb

Since then I've lowered my goal to 182lb and had a few ups and downs!

Currently on a big up following a lazy summer and a 6 week holiday in the usa!

GOAL: 1.8 lb in 10 days

    12.22.24 195.8
    12.23.24 195.8 13,373 steps. Calories☆
    12.24.24 195.8 12,881 steps. Calories☆
    12.25.24 195.6 11,224 steps. Calories ☆
frustrated as I've upped the walking and been under on my calories and the scales is hardly moving. But I've played this game long enough to know weight loss isn't linear!! Calories 20 over maintenance so should be a neutral day!
    12.26.24 196.4 12,306 steps calories ☆
well the scales is moving ... in the wrong direction
    12.27.24 196.4 16,468 steps calories ☆☆
12.28.24 196.4 my average steps are up 4k a day and my calories well under control and the scales remain up .6lb 🤨 expecting a major woosh any day now
    12.29.24 194.o steps 10,584 calories ☆☆
At last the scales is catching up 2.4lb overnight! Goal of 1.8lb loss reached
    12.30.24 193.6 steps 12486 calories☆
Another great day! 9 days 2.2lb loss over xmas too. Thanks to everyone in the group xx

    12.31.24 193.2 Steps 7,183 calories ☆
Fantastic end to the 10 days 2.6lb loss
I'm very happy, its been a funny 10 days, i increased my steps by around 4000 a day and the scales went up not down. But finally in the last few days the weight fell off!
Today and tomorrow will be a challenge for me ... not food wise but alcohol! Lunch time drinks today then straight to an overnight party with friends, no weigh in tomorrow morning! Then tomorrow another lunch party. I'm starting the next round with todays weight ... but won't be surprised to see a 3lb gain on jan 2nd :(
Happy new year and new round everyone!!!
