Hello. I’m making my word of the year “commitment.” This year I am setting a goal to remain committed to self-care.
1. I will drink water every day (at least 3 bottles).
2. I will walk for 30 minutes every day.
3. I will track my daily calories with the intention of staying under my limit.

Today is the last day of my holiday break…back to work on Monday. I’m actually ready to get back. I’m on a 3 day streak of getting my walk in. I’m not drinking as much water as I should. Today I tracked my calories and despite eating out with my husband, I stayed under my calorie limit. I drank more tea than water today. I’m going to drink more water tomorrow! All in all it has been a good week.

Tea counts toward hydration. So does coffee. It used to be thought that those things were too diuretic, so didn't much help hydration. Recent research has found that for most of us, coffee and tea stay in our system long enough to hydrate.

If you find tea or any other negligible-calorie beverage easier to drink than water, drinking that may make your path toward health easier. "Easier" is a plus, in my world.

    Best wishes!

I achieved all 3 of my objectives yesterday. I weighed this morning and the pounds I gained on Christmas break are gone and I’m back on track. Yay! We have been going to open houses and have found one we are really excited about. We are meeting our realtor this morning at the house to talk about making an offer. My husband is stressing making the commitment, but I am excited to our own home again rather than renting. Have a good day!
