Hi there developers and fellow my fitness pals!
Would like to see an ability added to access the recipes of other members via a searchable database, and add those recipes to my own food diary.
For example, if I see in a 'top rated recipes' or 'recently added recipes' or alternatively search on an ingredient that I have that I want a recipe for, I would love to be able to click on that recipe and click 'add to food diary' and have all the ingredients, quantities, nutritional information imported into your selected meal.
Further, I could see a real value in the mobile app especially, having a shopping list function, that lists the ingredients you need to buy in order to make the recipe, or recipes you have forward planned for the week or few days ahead. Could even allow you to cross off what you have at home already, and add other ingredients from the database - leaving you with your grocery shopping list!
I personally like to plan meals ahead of time, and so if I planned a week of meals in advance, selecting from great sounding recipes of other uses that I have browsed and added to my food diary, and have the app add all of the ingredients and total quantities of each ingredient that I need to make those recipes, to a weekly or set date range shopping list...
Can just see this being a VERY useful addition to this already awesome app!
On a personal note I've been using this app for 3 days now and I am so impressed!
I'm currently a healthy weight, and pretty physically fit already after loosing 30kg about 7 years ago now. I tracked calories in and out by recording eating and exercise (started cycling every day) - but back then mobile apps hadn't even been invented!! I'm not sure there were even smart phone available then LOL. I designed my own excel spreadsheet into which I manually imputted the macro nutrient values and calories for each ingredient I regularly ate, and from that, extrapolated data just as your site does. Down to percentage protein, fat and carbohydrates.
This is SO much simpler!
In my spreadsheet I would use the sort function to hide all ingredients but those that had a number in the column (indicating it would be in a recipe that day) and from that I got my own list of ingredients that I needed. Thus the shopping list idea.. its worked for me in the past and I'm sure its possible with this app.
Its so fantastic that now everyone has access to accurate tracking of their consumption - knowledge empowers
Would love some feedback from developers or other 'pals' who like the idea
Cheers!

I'm back tracking again now to try to curb my unconscious snacking and to try to get the six pack outta the fridge it's been in my whole life
