    bump to learn more
  • Sent you a PM because I'm not sure how much you want to share about where in London you live.

How old are the little people?

We are a family of 4 living in London too.
  • It certainly is! Meat is expensive but there are often '3 for £10' offers on chicken in sainsburys, for a family of 2 adults and 2 children that can provide around 4 meals...
But what i really recommend is going on mysupermarket.com and doing a trolley there, i started doing this since i've got my budget and you can see where is cheapest, which items to swap to save calories and which items to swap to get more for your money...really worth it!

Yes but you won't be as healthy as you could be.

why not have a few vegetarian meals a week
beans and pulses are really cheap and for the cooler weather make wonderful casseroles
in the warmer weather make great home made burgers and homous home made is wonderful

also if you can pop to the supermarket about 7pm they often have foods cheaper because they are at sell by date - buy them and pop them in a freezer

I find that eating on a small budget I need to shop at least every other day and daily if possible just to pick up the bargains

there are many good meals can be made with minimal meat like a spag bol

use mince but also lentils to pad it out and you can make one portion of mince do two recipes so cook it all and freeze one

Thank you for your replies, I was a bit worried as once someone told me value stuff is high in fat and badly processed so kinda panicked about it lol, I lost quite a bit of weight and fell off the wagon and am desperately trying to get back on it as still have a bit more to lose and thought with a tight budget I wouldnt be able to lose the rest of my weight
