Long time user, new to discussions

Hi :)

I've used myfitnesspal for just shy of 10 years. I'm currently weighing in approx. 10kg heavier than when I started in 2015 which is a little disheartening. During this time I've had two times where I have lost 20+kg and another two times where I've lost 10+kg. The overall trend though is up, currently approx. 40kg above my absolute goal weight. I've always lacked accountability, the two times I lost the most weight I had someone holding me to account. One was weekly check-ins at the Dr and the other I had a PT. Can't afford the PT but have my daughter helping me this time, she wants to surf with me in the next Australian summer so I have about 10 months to get into some shape for surfing. I'm hitting the gym and tracking my intake so provided I stick with this, I'll be golden.

Keen for any suggestions which will help keep me on the right track long term.

Cheers

For me I do well when I log and check in here, and not so well when I don’t.

Pete I have a suggestion. You clear stated a goal: comfortably surfing in ten month. And a means to get there that works for you, weekly checking in. Do that.

Regarding the check-in, the doctor was paid, so there should be some reciprocity to have it work. My suggestion is to show up here for somebody else. Showing up for them, they show up for you ... there you go.

I heard a good accountability story.

A guy agreed to meet another guy at 5:00 am at they gym on Mon/Wed/Fri and the catch was that they each had the other persons gym bag. One didn't show the other guy was stuck. The second guy didn't show and the first guy was stuck.

Introduce some accountability to another person and you're gold.
