Just Give Me 10 Days - Round 284

Hi everyone, this is my second challenge in a row. I hope to continue at least until August (my wedding).
I’m 35 years old and 164 cm. I work from home, so my life is pretty sedentary but I started going gym 3 times a week since 30 December 2024.
Background info in spoiler.I have tried to lose weight since my teenage years, but since then I gained 40+ kgs. I lost significant weight twice in my life. First time, I changed my understanding of eating healthy and lost around 15 kgs in a year. Second time, I used Saxenda (GLP-1 med), I don’t remember how much I lost exactly but around 10-15 kgs but when I stopped using Saxenda I immediately gained it all back and more in a few months. So this time, I again focus of changing my mindset. I need to lose weight for improving my health and potential fertility issues due to PCOS since I have been considering trying for a baby at the second half of this year.
SW: 103.3 kg (31 December 2024)
GW (until August): 85 kg
SW RND 284: 102.3 kg
GW RND 284: 101 kg
1/11 - 102.2 kg (A bit stuck in 102s)
1/12 - 102.4 kg (drank 1,5 pint beer last night)
1/13 - 102.2 kg
1/14 - 102.8 kg (idk wtf is going on, I do 600-800 cal deficit a day, I weight everything I eat, exercise 3 times a week and cannot lose)

Backstory & JGMTD Progress
********************************
Lived in 140-150s throughout adulthood. HW 172lbs in 2010. Lost 30lbs in 2014 to 128lbs. Crazy🎢 for 10years. Joined JGMTD R231 7/31/23. Lost 15lbs 8/1 -11/23. Said goodbye FOREVER to the 🎢! I’ve named my maintenance journey “#HSF” & “Healthy Strong Fit” on my way to 📣#bestshapeofmylife
👇🏻January Level Up (Down)
***************************
I pledge to prioritize each of these #HSF choices EVERY DAY of January:
1. P:E: Protein g greater than 1:1 vs. Energy g. [Pg > (Cg+Fg)] (and cals = avg. maintenance).I will continue this CLEAN nutrition plan. It is supposed to support muscle gain with fat loss while 🏋🏼♀️🚶♀️💗🤸🏼♀️ ⏱️🎾. I will continue to track NSVs/macros/ activities, etc. to learn about my body.
2. 🙏📝📚🧐 - I will continue to pray, journal, research. This is my aspect of “leveling up” because I am nothing without my relationship w/Jesus Christ. I’ve also grown into loving/enjoying learning about my body & healthy aging. Replacing BAD habits w/ GOOD habits is a journey in itself. This practice helps me stay present /mindful of many decisions/ thoughts/ actions that impact not only nutrition, but improves self-talk & interactions w/others.
3. 🏋🏼♀️this is my biggest challenge. I still don’t like it. Not one bit. I have some days that it clicks, but it’s a daily struggle. Living “fake it till I make it”… Faking my “identity”. My hope is that some 🏋️♀️version eventually becomes a healthy habit. I’m working on a minimum of 10-minute “🏋🏼♀️snacks” 2-3x per day, 5x per round. Gosh, how I wish someone, ANYONE would have told me in my earlier years that 🏋🏼♀️is the key to fat-loss / maintaining - NOT cardio. I was brainwashed.
4. Healthy Aging - includes mobility, flexibility, balance and agility. While I do stretch every morning plus “stretch snacks”… I want to up this game… I added a 5-min lymphatic massage & ⏱️“sprints” (which is NOW only fast jogging… 😂) and plyometrics (celebrating a 2” vertical jump) 😂. I read to “sprint” and jumping is vital to joint-health as we age…..
5. I have much “work” to do with family relationships. Won’t detail here, but it’s a challenge & my overall health will not flourish without this being acknowledged and improved. Mind, body & spirit are connected. I won’t be fully content until I reconcile this part of my life.
6. Sleep- This is a big one. I’m usually fast asleep by 8:30-9PM. I can’t stay up later…. I love getting up early. I’m good with a 5AM wake up but I want to sleep soundly through the night. Will continue to prioritize this key component to health and well-being…
7. Have fun… lighten up … & give myself permission to be spontaneous. (This is THE HARDEST)!!!!
👇🏻Progress since my 1st R231 7/31/23 NSVs/Journey Reflections
******************
1. ✅HSF: Avg. close to 9k steps per day for 12+ mos. Not bad. It’s no longer a “daily goal” because it’s now a daily healthy habit - #HSF 👏🏻🤩 (12/11 This is down due to injury - I pledge to recommit.
2. ✅#HSF: 🤸♂️ Daily stretch & mobility greatly improving my attitude & confidence.
3. ✅ #HSF 📝 🙏 everyday
4. ✅#HSF: I play 🎾about 4-5x per week.
5. ✅#HSF : 💗Z2 avg 60 min/day
6. ✅#HSF : zero to 20g of net carbs/ day
7. ✅Clean P:E 115-125g Protein
8. ✅#HSF Naturally IF 18/6. Eating window=noon to 6PM. (At least 5 days/wk)
9. ✅#HSF 💦70-80oz daily
10. ✅#HSF Alcohol limited to rare occasions.
11. 💤 7 to 8 hours sleep per night is a goal. Sleep is still inconsistent the last few rounds…
12.Staying in the present moment is key to mental health and healthy choices.
13.Rotating 115g to 125g of protein per day is now a non-negotiable. In my dreams, I want to be 128- 130lbs #HSF … 😎 I want to be Healthy, Strong & Fit to live out “Chapter 3” enjoying a full range of mobility, flexibility & activities… !

1/10 Puffy & Bloated. Ate late but on maintenance. This will drop. Ok ok ok. I’m doing ok. The point is that I did NOT accomplish what I set out to do. I held the line.
Give myself a B- this round. The melancholy is real when it strikes. I battled back super well but didn’t get my 🥩🏋️♀️or deficits when I COULD. This past week below normal temps and rain. Must have a battle plan for inclimate weather & lack of mental fortitude. I also realize I’m at my self-imposed plateau and this is where my resilience 💪🏻 and actions are needed most. I KNOW THIS!!! Still at base camp and will ascend the ⛰️ top! 🏁🏁🏁.
See yall R284! 1/11 131.0
Will update my goal to 128x for 1/30 vs 1/20 but will continue to ENGAGE for an earlier breakthrough. Inbody scan on 1/31. Let’s be real here. I know this is a tall order. Stuck for six months. If I work my plan consistently for 10 days, NOW, I will do this! I worked the plan only 40% last round. For me, this round is not about the scale - it’s about keeping THIS commitment to myself. INTEGRITY FIRST.
I’m tracking all measures on spreadsheet but will report the PRIORITY to JGMTD [emphasis]

Onward!
1/12 slept poorly for the first time in a week+. Go figure. I’m disappointed (tossed/turned - up @ 3AM) because my day will be off. Had a really solid day yesterday. Hit all four nutrition measures🏆. Best 🏋️♀️in weeks! Maintaining mission and keeping a winning-mindset. Im glad I’ve learned that an unexpected uptick is simply bodily functions off-kilter. Perfect kickoff for this round.
1/13 ✅Pg (120g) ; P:E (1.8) but ate @ maintenance cals. My entire day was discombobulated because of no sleep & couldn’t nap… Cold and rainy. Read JGMTD for motivation…. helped with healthy food choices but gosh I was tired. No structured walk. Didn’t leave house. Non-productive day. NSV: Proud of 🏋️♀️30 min.
Slept much better last night so I look forward to a +day. Refreshed. Never underestimate the power of a great night’s sleep!

1/13: slow and steady. First time back to my favorite barre class post foot surgery as there's lots of bending of the toes- went well, and felt great! Another PT session, limp is nearly gone. Spoke to a woman who had this a few years ago and she said it took her nearly a year to recuperate, so I feel very, very lucky.
Another insane day today, trying to catch up as we're away next week and I don't want to have lingering work with me.8 -

1/14 - 165.4 - Not much change. Coach upped my macros slightly yesterday so I had to cram an extra snack in to meet goals. I was 6oz shy of my 128oz/1 gallon goal which I'll take! Cold day (below freezing again) but managed to get out of my cozy bed for the gym. I struggled today - everything felt so much heavier and harder than normal. Got it done, though, and feel better for it. Breakfast is eaten with lunch and dinner pre-logged. I also went ahead and pre-logged a snack for this morning but I do have room for another. I need at least 9g more of fat and 50g of carbs to be within my 10g buffer. I'm exactly 10g under my protein goal so I can have 0-20g protein with my yet-undecided snack without breaking macros. We have a VFW monthly meeting tonight so it'll be a bit later night than normal. Hopefully not too much so. I haven't been sleeping well and feeling really groggy so I'd like to not have a sleep debt on top of it!

1/ - Drop off after getting [mostly] back on track yesterday. I was short on my water goal but I at least tracked and hit my macro goals as well as got my steps and a walk in. Thursday was horrible weather-wise and there was a constant threat of losing power or water. Friday was a bit messy in the morning until the temperatures made it above freezing and the roads were clear of ice to travel again at which point I was running errands and doing tasks all day to try to lessen the load for the weekend. Saturday was busy with more tasks and errands. Sunday was busy trying to fix my vehicle, meal prep, and still have time to relax, which was very minimal at the end of the day. I woke up this morning feeling like I didn't get a weekend or time to recover despite having a 3 day weekend. Unfortunately, this week is my full 5 day week so it'll be challenging to stay focused but at least the routine will keep me honest with my goals and habits. Gym this morning and the warmer temps have brought along more folks coming in to work out with it. I do wish them well but so many are rather rude and don't bother to clean up after themselves (like not re-racking weights or leaving the machines drenched in their sweat) so it's very hard to not be frustrated. I do wish them well and that they meet their health goals, but I can't help but wish them to be a little more considerate of us regulars who are being disrupted by the chaos. There are a few who are genuinely kind and thoughtful and I love that so much. Trying to keep in mind that I wasn't perfect when I first started going and had to learn the ropes (like where the wipes are to clean off machines and such). Hoping for a great week this week!

I feel your pain, @lolakinks big hugs! Working from home for years, I know how tough it is to stay active throughout the day. My go-to is a "Fit in 5" YouTube playlist with workouts ranging from 5 to 15 minutes. Even if it’s not a full workout, I aim for 3-5 minutes of movement each hour ~ arm circles, calf raises, running in place, squats, wall pushups, chair twists, leg raises, or even just fidgeting when I remember! Staying active isn’t easy, especially when work keeps you glued to your desk, but it might also be worth researching why the body sometimes doesn’t respond to a calorie deficit. You might find something that applies to your situation. Cheering you on!8

Although I've been getting 6-8 hours of sleep the past five nights, the quality has been terrible! My subconscious feels more like a monkey mind at war with itself than anything meditative. Priority for the rest of the week is to focus on improving my rest and finding a better sense of balance.

Hi, I'm Amanda! 5'2" 39F in Virginia, excited to return this round after taking a couple off!
RSW: 128.8
RGW: 127.8
NS goals (tracked for previous day with emojis):
🏃🏻♀️Follow my running training plan exactly, which I think will require training 8/10 days. Half marathon on Feb 2nd!
✔️Core 7/10 days (5 days a week)
🏋🏻♀️Lift weights 3/10 days (twice a week)
🚫 Alcohol-free 10/10 days (doing most of dry January except for the first 6 days I was on vacation )
1/11 - 128.0 🚫🏃🏻♀️I did my first long run in a while yesterday and my body is certainly feeling it. My town has been coated in ice all week so I ran the neighborhoods I knew were scraped but did most of my run on the indoor track at the gym. Holy tedium, I will not do that again. Peloton runs on the tread are much more engaging when weather doesn’t permit outdoor running.
We got a couple inches of snow last night so my “workout” will probably be pulling the kids around on the sled. Not off to the best start with pancakes and bacon for breakfast, typical weekend day. Will track them and work around them for the rest of the day. Happy Saturday!
1/12 - 129.6 ✔️🚫 Surprised by the gain today as I was only over by 500-600 cals yesterday, but dinner was very salty with soy sauce, so I’m going to just ride the wave for now. I did end up doing a core workout and a peloton yoga for runners class that felt AMAZING. Otherwise it was snow play. The kids had a blast sledding. I’m dying to go skiing but it’s hard to figure out with the kids, especially the almost 4 year old. The mountain close to us doesn’t offer anything for his age. So I’ll just do my prescribed 45-minute run and look longingly at the snow. We are having pizza and wings today during the Bills/Broncos game (Go Bills!) so have to plan accordingly.
1/13 - 127.4 🚫 There went some water! Back to my 10-pounds-lost milestone. Hope to pass it this time instead of kissing it and going back up like last time. My 3 year old was sick and needy yesterday, so I spent most of the day on the couch with him. I was going to run after dinner until my 5 year old looked at me with his big, sweet eyes and asked me to watch Neverending Story with him. How could I say no? I guess this is why I need to do workouts in the morning. 3yo is home sick today, and I’m starting to have a pretty persistent cough too. ‘Tis the season for family illness. The 5yo is on a 2 hour weather delay so after he gets on the bus I’ll run. Just another small wrench in the wellness plan.
1/14 - 126.8 ✔️🚫🏃🏻♀️ My weight is looking good, but unfortunately today is a sad day. My cat, Beatrice, is in rapid decline after a very long slow decline from kidney disease. She's 19.5 and the vet is coming to put her down in an hour. She's been with me for nearly half my life. I didn't process back when I adopted her that she'd be with me through my young adulthood, moving all over the country, the adoption of canine pet siblings, and then the birth and early childhood of my kids. I don't think I would have believed anyone if they'd told me. May she rest in peace 💔 Here she is in 2006 vs today:

Hi, I'm Charissa.
Thank you, @QuiltingJaine, for leading the charge in 2025!
Round 283 was quite the mental round. But moving on, still seeing success! This round will be somewhat challenging... so my goal is to just finish the round lower than what I started and .1 Is totally acceptable!!! I have a party today for my MIL. Tomorrow, my DH's daugher wants to take him to brunch for a belated birthday present and the 17th we have dinner out with friends.
Good Luck to everyone this round!
Q: What will be different in 2025 vs all the other times?
A: Change in my mindset
A: Being mindful and engaged
A: Addressing the elephant in the room!
A: No excuses
A: DETERMINED AND ENGAGED
Overall Goals for 2025
Lose weight in the kitchen ⚖️, get fit in the gym🏋🏾♀️Note: These are pretty much my same goals from 2023 and 2024, I've made some great progress but now it's time to knock this list out! My goals are SMART - just not including all the details here:
Goal#1 - Calories - Aim and plan for 1200; allow 400 just in case for a total of 1600. **Eat well 🥗to Live Well 🚢✈️🧳
Goal#2 - Wine/Alcohol Reduction - 85% Dry January or better ** 🚫🍷 Alcohol kills weight loss as the focus is burning alcohol calories and not fat calories!
Goal #3 - Water - Minimum 50 ounces - Maximum 100 (only if consumed before 6pm) H2O - Make it Flow 💦💦💦
Goal #4 - Exercise - 6 days a week (Cardio, Core, Stretching, Strength Training) ~ 🏋🏾♀️ Don't think, just do it!!
Goal #5 - Self Care (Reading, Journaling, Monthly recap, Learning, Pampering)
Goal #6 - Organization and Declutter (Finish unpacking)
** To get to 100%

SW RND 284 - 228.2
Dates = Weight ; Comments regarding prior day.
1/11 227.1 ~ The scale was still bouncing around this morning. I got my other scale out for verification and then changed the batteries. I really like the Withings scale (new) as long as it's accurate
1/12 227.0 ~ 🚶🏽🍎⬇️ After Birthday Party seems unscathed! We actually went to lunch/late dinner before the party and passed on cake and ice cream (not my temptation) and actually was within calorie budget. Short on water though.
1/13 228.7 ~ After Brunch. I was an absolute fool yesterday at the brunch. The food wasn't that great but the mimosas were excellent . I surely overdid it and I paid for it with a restless night of sleep. Today is recovery day. Calories between 1000 and 1200 and LOTS of water and exercise.
1/14 228.1 ~ 🚶🏽🏋️♀️🍎✅💧⬇️ Good day yesterday and ok with scale. Calories 1670, still within (kinda) range Everything else was as planned. Today is a work day so more sitting, but did get 30 minutes in on the treadmill this morning.

@pezhed ~ hope your 3 year old feels better and you don't catch what ever is going around. And you are correct, you cannot say NO to a 5 year requesting time with his Mom to watch Neverending Story Treasure it! So sorry to hear about your cat.
@deepwoodslady ~ nice job at the restaurant and not bringing home the temptations!
@OhJayEss ~ nice work and nice results~ Continue the happy dance!
@CamandJarvis ~ sorry you're experiencing lack of gym etiquette... Hopefully they will notice and self correct. If not, maybe mentioned in passing to management so they can police so that it's comfortable for all. My gym actually has signs to clean "before" AND "after" and I have seen people do both. I bad... I assume the person prior to me had done their job, unless it's obvious, but I for sure clean after I'm done. I also have a towel that I use that helps as well.
@lita_loses_it_all ~ nice job on developing cravings for water! Weird, huh? But very good. Enjoy your spa day!
@Slimmersixties ~ great step count this round. Nicely done!
@lolakinks ~ I know how frustrating it can be but it sounds like you're doing everything that you should've doing. Give it a couple more days....
@reshii_devi ~ wishing you a calm mind and restful sleep!!

BackstoryIn 2022 I was around 157lbs with 24% bf. Was definitely in the “best shape” of my adult life then. Since then I started a new career working from home as a developer. Have moved away from my family for fiancés job. We’ve moved several times to various states in a short time span. So far we’ve moved 3 times, all about 9 months apart. Welcomed two puppies into the mix. Lots of changes. Lots of time spent at home. Lots of time spent away from family. Fell out of touch with friends. All of the adjustments and figuring out how to manage/handle more daily responsibilities and navigate through this phase of life has manifested into me gaining 20+lbs and losing a lot of willpower, motivation, drive, positivity, etc that I once thrived on. Found this challenge and it has been helping me get it back. Nothing is permanent! Looking forward to working through this.
Overall Goals and ChallengesGoals
1. Focusing on behavior and mindset. Calories have been going way over for so long I need to reel the behavior back in a healthy way.
2. Don’t give up on the day when it’s challenging. Choose to make good decisions in those moments instead of giving in.
Challenges
1. Working from home makes it easy to stress eat or just eat out of boredom/habit.
2. Sleeping less (have two puppies, a 7mo and a 11mo old) makes it hard to wake up early enough to get a good workout in or at least to feel good awaking up. Feel defeated in the motivation and drive department compared to how I was previously.
Daily, Small, Attainable Goals1. Finish 1st 27oz water before 2pm
2. Finish 2nd 27oz water before bed
3. Alternate standing and sitting at desk every other hour during working hours (or stand at least half of the day).
4. Hit maintenance calories at a minimum.
5. -200 cal deficit on gym days
6. If I go over cals, try to cap it at +200

Gym: scheduled rest day
Wins: not really looking like a win. I guess I can count that I had 4 really good workouts the last few days and hit my water goal every day.
Challenges: dropped the ball yesterday. Got a case of the “f* its” as I call it around 3pm and it just continued the remainder of the day. I was getting hungry to where I wanted to start cooking dinner but I was trying to wait until DF was ready. He eats usually one meal a day, could be at midnight if he feels like it, and whatever snacks randomly during the day and doesn’t go to the gym. Trying to align with that is difficult. I ended up snacking instead of eating a meal and then just wasn’t smart about the rest of the day. Today I’m just making dinner at a normal time 💆🏻♀️

01/12-191.4-(Trend Weight:192.5 )-
01/13-191.2-(Trend Weight: 192.4)- Well, I was hoping that when it bounced up unexpectedly that it would then slide right back down, but no such luck. I did travel yesterday so I guess eating at the restaurant would have stopped that process anyway. I’m actually down 0.2 since yesterday AFTER THE TRAVEL and I think that is a First for me!!! I’ll take it with grace and gratitude. I chose well at the restaurant and made sure I didn’t bring home any garbage that tempts and lingers for days. Go Donna!
01/14-192.6-(Trend Weight: 192.4)- Absolutely no reason for a 1 ½ lb gain unless it’s due to no TMI x 2 and perhaps sodium from homemade Chicken Lemon Rice soup. I was 250 calories and 16 carbs under my limits yesterday and under the last couple of days in a row. How disheartening! I’ll be flushing with water today, I’ll take my Lasix today which I’m supposed to take daily for my heart (but don’t) and I’ll hope for a better outcome for tomorrow. My mind wants to resort to drastic measures like eating only 500 calories today but my common sense tells me to stay the course with healthy satisfying options and trust the process. Weight loss is not linear so I’m not going to let this get me down. This is exactly the weight I started with on Jan 1st so I haven't made a drop of progress from the holiday gain. But there's no use crying over spilt milk. Onward and Forward!

Hi Everyone. Having allowed life's complexities to knock me out of the saddle over the past couple of years, a 10-day challenge series seems like just what I need to get back on track with renewing the good habits I have let slide. Thank you @quiltingjaine for setting this up.

I don’t think I really gained 2 pounds from too many chips at the Mexican Restaurant last night with DH and DGS. I reserve the right to freak out tomorrow.
Otherwise, I’m still catching up IRL and clearing emails at work. Luckily, I’d frozen a few meals in the freezer so I’m not scrambling for every meal.

GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a two grandsons. We have two parents, 87(mother), 85(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
1/11 – DNW
1/12 – 136.2 I channeled Britney Spears with “Oops!....I did it again” this week. We made it to the Keys a week ago yesterday. I have to yet to finish unpacking, but DH and I have dealt with all sorts of condo association issues, like being the ones (me) to notice the city sewage pump out holding tank was back flowing in the property and dealing with the city, cleaning out two 12x12 community storage closets that had not been gone through in 25 year, and so on. Plus things in our own unit – emptying power outaged fridge, plumber for 5 projects in unit, etc. Have NOT joined the gym yet, BUT yesterday was the first day I can say I was proud of in a long time. Walked 5 miles and ate healthy, even if it was not tracked. This morning I intentionally got up at 5:15am so I could try and catch up here.
Oh, I just remembered something else I meant to report during. On Dec 31, I took ALL my measurements. When I get to May, it will be interesting to see what I accomplished. Hopefully something worthwhile.
1/13 – 136.3 Well yesterday was an awesome day. Tracked everything, exercised and tracked that as well. Joined the gym (but did not attend yet). BUT man am I hurting today. Yesterday I did a 5 mile walk, two laps with company and one alone. Then, when hubby said he was going bike riding I offered to join if we could top at the PO to drop off letters and let me join the gym next door. All and all we rode 7 miles. There are certainly some parts of me that are not happy today. I will do the walk this morning but just the two laps with people at that slower pace. OH, and I totally realize the “up” today is relating to the pain I am feeling. I am looking to end this round with some sort of 135 (or lower in a miracle).
1/14 – 136.8 Day was mixed. Good enough but not the way I planned

SW Rnd 284My heaviest weight a couple years ago was 239. I got down to 207 (+/-) a few times but I never stuck with it. I always had a side goal like a Vacation or a wedding that motivated me. Once on Vacation or after the wedding, it was back to eating whatever and however much I wanted. Binge eating was common place. Each time I lost weight and fell off the wagon, the binge eating just got worse. I started at 230# in November and decided that I needed to approach this differently. I turned my attention to my eating. Tackling my bad habits and learning to be more mindful of how I eat. I still have days that I stuff myself at meals or that I binge eat but it’s not nearly as often. Even with the small adjustments I started seeing a pound here and a pound there dropping from the scale. I have also been following a few experts and will be making sure I don't cut out certain foods as food limiting can create more problems with someone with an eating disorder such as binge eating and why my binging got worse after each of my weight losses. I have learned that I only need to be in a calorie deficit that is calculated for my goal weight and not speed of weight loss. I also don't need to restrict certain foods. I have the tools to succeed, I just need to use them. Slowly I will be adding workouts. My focus has changed from the priority of weight loss and 2nd for getting stronger to the priority of Forming healthy habits and 2nd for weight loss & strengthening. I cannot do the latter without the former.(My 3nd round)
January 11- January 20
Age: Almost 56
My heaviest weight ever recorded: 239
Last challenge end weight: 224.4
Goal Weight: 165
My focus: Continue with Positivity, nutrition, fitness
1/11- 223.4 Even though the scale has trended up, it doesn’t mean that I am losing the battle. The fact that I am going to stick with it and not give up is a win. QOTD: “It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort, and when you bring that effort every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.” — Jillian Michaels.
1/12- 222.6 Getting back on track. It’s hard to stay motivated when you feel like you just want to fatten up and hibernate like a bear. I am not a winter person, but I live in Wisconsin so I just gotta suck it up. QOTD: "Make time for it. Just get it done. Nobody ever got strong or got in shape by thinking about it. They did it." -Jim Wendler

Yeah. He took three lives. My friend's daughter was 33. The other two were 12 and 13. The 12 year old was his step daughter. I can't even imagine their pain. The devastation is un-measurable for them. They finally caught him. I prayed that they would find him alive so he pays for what he did and gives the family answers. Thank you for the prayers deepwoodslady. They can use all they can get.
I thought/HOPED I had misread your previous post as I’m addicted to shows on ID after working in a prison system for 20+ years. I am so sorry for the losses you all have suffered. I know there are no words that can make it better. Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you quiltingjane I love ID shows. Just never thought that it would hit so close to home.4 -
@tishabenn69 So very sorry, and how very terrible. I have managed to find the news reports on this but they have no insights to his motivation. Prayers for the families of these three girls.
Yea, they haven't released much on him and what his motives were. Every day I look to see if there is new information. I am sure they are still investigating so we probably won't hear much yet.
Thank you SModa61

@tishabenn69 ~ I missed your post as well as I had already jumped to the new round. So sorry for your friend. It is unimaginable and I'm glad they caught him and I hope he truly gets what he deserves. Prayers of comfort for you and the families.
Thank you itladyee I hope so too!3 -

Sorry to post this here. Apparently I need to “friend” SModa61!

@quiltingjaine Since last year's whole board quitting and our getting involved (DH on board and me doing tasks), it has been wild. The decades of putting off correct repairs has become apparent. I wish you and your husband good luck with whatever comes down after tomorrow!

The board (president) who had been in power for 3 years heavily influenced the other members to spend. Things were purchased illegally because they didn’t follow the law. It would cost thousands to prosecute and we would probably never recover the loss let alone the expense of doing it.
Be careful how much you take on. We have had at least three instances of spouses being board president and committee chairman. I definitely think that is a conflict of interest!

Hi everyone, back for my 2nd round ... but really my first full round
The work week has had me in a chokehold, but I've been recording my weight each morning so Ill give a quick update from Saturday January 11 to today Tuesday January 14, 2024.
LETS GET IT !!!
Challenge Goals:
1. Meal prep for week (January 11-17)
2. 45 mins of movement each morning
3. Walk/exercise 30 minutes as soon as I get home.
4. No evening/night snacking
5. 64oz of water per day
Saturday, did my monthly shopping at PriceSmart (its like Costco or BJs) and meal prepped. I also “tasted’ a lot while meal prepping … more like I had a couple extra meals as I taste tested my planned meals … This affected Sundays weight …. But it levelled off on Monday, and trending down now.
Logging meals in MFP has helped me plan enough meals during the day so that I'm not feeling like a ravenous Bear coming out of hibernation when I get home --- so no night snacking so far !!!
I’ve been getting in 45 mins - 1 hour of exercise daily, sometimes broken up into am/pm sessions
Need to focus on getting in my 64oz of water --- averaging about 48oz daily

My cat, Beatrice, is in rapid decline after a very long slow decline from kidney disease. She's 19.5 and the vet is coming to put her down in an hour. She's been with me for nearly half my life. I didn't process back when I adopted her that she'd be with me through my young adulthood, moving all over the country, the adoption of canine pet siblings, and then the birth and early childhood of my kids. I don't think I would have believed anyone if they'd told me. May she rest in peace 💔 Here she is in 2006 vs today:
Amanda, I’m so sorry for your loss. Oskar was headed to kidney disease and had diabetes. We had a vet come to our home when I got the prognosis. My thoughts are with you during this difficult day and the future days. There are no words. -Jaine
