Morning all
Woke up at 5 and hopped in the shower..going to get my haircut this afternoon. The air is so dry ive been getting nosebleeds ugh..
Need to take the 5 gallon water bottles with me this morning5 -
Annie-good to hear from you. Don't feel bad about the medications. They have made a positive difference for my brother. He isn't "his old self" but he does connect much better and has decent sleep-which my SIL really appreciates!
Barbie-good job getting things done.
Rita-I empathize with you regarding DH. I had to use similar strategies with my husband. I locked him out of account and gave him an allowance. Be strong and don't beat yourself up if you give in sometimes.
Tracey-sounds like the young man just wants some company and for some reason he connects with you.
Heather-I have only had one or two ear infections but they were horrible! Glad your son got a diagnosis-sometimes knowing is what matters most.
DrKatie-glad recovery is going so well-you will be back on the healthy habits.
Allie-so sorry for the loss of your friend. You are right, we never know.
Warming up here today-thank goodness. Went to one of your youth programs last night-it is good to see young people be creative.
Nothing else really new here. Off to stretches and then in to the office.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Got a quick bicycle ride in during the evening mist. The image is actually yesterday's sunset.
Finished by 2-day course today. It was good - enjoyed it. Back to work tomorrow, but from home.

Hey kids!
Woke up writing video scripts in my head, always a good sign for me when I'm writing anything in my dreams.
Our "warm-up" got here, too, it's all of 25 degrees this morning! (-4C). Hope all's well with our deep South Southerners. Don't watch a lot of news, wondered if y'all got the snow the li'l weather weasels were doom-casting!
Vicki - Oh, my dear, I'm so sorry about the business with your car. One of the many reasons I hate taking a vehicle in, even for service is I just don't know enough about cars to know if they're trying something on... So I tell them, "Hold on, I'll get right back with you. My husband's a mechanic, let me call him." If they're legit, they don't worry about that call. If they aren't legit, it worries them, and I can see it before I walk away. The fender bender at the end of all that wasn't any fun, either, I know. I'm so sorry for your no-good, very-bad day. Hope the interview goes really, really well.
Annie - So good to see you, and I take trazadone at night to sleep as well - it's what finally let me go to sleep at a regular time, and more importantly for me, stay asleep, so I could wake up rested. And I do almost every night. You're giving your dad a gift, as well as yourself.
Heather - So glad your son got a diagnosis that makes sense to him. With that in hand, he's able to explain so much about how his life has been, I'm sure. Hope John's feeling better today.
Allie -I'm sorry to hear the news, and you're right, we don't ever know.
Barbie - I haven't heard the term "sinking spell" in a long time, but it's a terribly accurate phrase, isn't it. Rebecca's "sneaker wave" term comes to mind as the cause. Just glad you're OK. Sending hugs from here.
Here in the middle of the country, things are good... I enjoy the every day things, the minutiae of my life, in ways I didn't expect. Possibly because I disengaged from everything for so long. Possibly just because they give me a purpose. I'm at peace with myself and my life, and grateful for that every day. Not every moment, you know, that would just be annoying, and so would I!😉😏🐈⬛ But definitely every day.
Love y'all,
Lisa in AR6 -
Vicki ~ Good luck on your job interview. So sorry about your car needing repair. Makes you wonder if the auto shop people were being truthful!
Carol in 20* Georgia4 -
Wow, Vicki, they were having a laugh. Find another place.
Sorry about the damage.
John up in the night, worrying about his ear, getting anxious. I went in to reassure him. He's off out to a pub lunch today with his cricket friend. Miserable rainy, windy, weather, but not freezing.
Terri, you are due a big storm tomorrow I think.
I'm enjoying my 'me' time.

Good morning beautiful ladies!
I read up to page 10, hope to catch up before February.
The vitamin discussion was good motivation for me. I quit all my vitamins back in October ( part of my Christmas funk - not a good reason! ). I especially need Vitamin D as I rarely go outside. It's six degrees out there now with snow and ice on the ground. Anyway, setting my vitamins up again is on my to do list.
Dad seems to be sleeping better with this Trazodone and I think I am too. On the other hand, my hearing is off. I keep hearing faint echoes of my phone noises that aren't real. My distance vision is bad as well. Maybe my meds aren't as sorted as I thought. Hmm. Now that I type that, I see it's time to get past simply being annoyed and do something.
Another one of today's goals is to get back on that stationary bike. Even five minutes would be a
victory and help end the funk.
Debbie I hope something works out for your MIL. My Dad makes too much income for US Medicaid but nowhere near enough for $8000 a month for Alzheimer's care in a home. So we are making it work at home. He is cheerful and mostly pleasant and grateful, but also inconsiderate and a slob. But none of these stages last forever.
Flea I had a lovely time in Key West with a previous boyfriend years ago. I loved barhopping with his friends and clapping for the sunset! It's a great place with a special vibe.
Have a great day my friends! May you all be happy, healthy, safe and free!

I took my vitamins Yay!

Annie, my stationary bike is set up facing the TV so I watch and ride at the same time. It keeps me riding for long periods of time. I don't try to get super exercise, just more movement than I would get by just sitting on the couch.

Tracey ... what a compliment that young boy is giving you! Children know who they can trust, who brings them comfort. This is not the first time children outside of your family have wanted to be in your home. You have a precious, precious gift!

Get yourself a humidifier friend. We have the cheap kind that I think Vicks puts out. Fill it with water, stick the middle part in, you can add the Vicks liquid part if you like the steam to have the scent of Vicks or not. Its good for all night. I did wonders for our dry noses! I was getting nose bleeds too.

Vickie, if you have comprehensive insurance, it should pay for the rodent damage to your electrical system. It will be a separate claim from your fender bender. But get a second opinion if you don’t trust those folks.5

Heather. Ah sorry about John's ear infection! He's probably anxious because it harkens back to vertigo issues. Ears problems usually become a brain or mind problem just because your equilibrium is off when ears are affected. Speedy recovery for both him and patience for you (men and illness don't play well).
Allie. My condolences on the lost of your friend. So sad. Every day I put my two feet on the ground and am grateful.🙏💖
Vicki car woes, mice issues, job stress, AND weather woes. Phew, I get nervous typing that, but know this, it will all he sorted out. Just tackle each thing in its own time, don't bundle them up into a whole tangled ball.💖👍🏼 My sister buys those sticky traps and has them in the furnace/freezer room off the carport. She just buys them in bulk and catches them that way.👍🏼
Yesterday we drove off island. First time since last Nov. We ate lunch at our brew pub/pizza place we like. Then we wandered Fred Meyers a store that is like Wal-Mart but with a bigger grocery section. I saw lots of candy options but didn't partake. We did stop at their jewelry stall and I found some gold small hoops like I used to have. I will take these out every night though.
Annie nice to see you. You are doing so well with your Dad, don't minimize your struggles. You are doing the best you can and don't you feel guilty about anything friend! Glad you're trying to manage your meds situation. Have you thought about getting yourself a pill container you fill weekly. That stops any questions, "did I take that or not" feelings. My husband takes 9 pills morning, 2 pills lunchtime, 1pill dinnertime, and 4 pills at bedtime. The container weekly is the only thing to keep all that straight. Plus you can gauge when you need to refill better!👍🏼

My good news is that I managed to walk upstairs with both legs, twice today! It's a bit uncomfortable, but I can do it! All those glute exercises are paying off! It's a milestone I have been l looking forward to since the end of July. Go me!
Then I went out to buy haggis and other bits, and found myself walking almost normally. I wouldn't say I have a spring in my step, but I'm getting there.
Now I just need to lose a bit of weight and get my cardio going. I get out of breath too easily.

Lisa - that photo of Egg watching the cat show is priceless!
Barbie - Glad things are moving along for you, nice the investment fellow will come pick up the certificate and save you a trip. I have another Britbox favorite in addition to Vera (Heather and others have mentioned Vera too). It's "The Bay" I just finished watching the 5th season and will start over with season 1 one of these days. What I really like about the British crime dramas and mysteries is the plot, scenery, and over all production is almost always excellent. The characters are believable and look like average human beings.
Annie - thank you for catching us up. Sounds like the med is helping your dad - appreciate all of the input from you ladies regarding this drug. What a wealth of information you all are.
Vicki - so sorry to hear about the car problems! Sometimes there are just those days... Good luck with the interview coming up, hope it's something you'll enjoy doing. They'll be lucky to have you, this we know.
Some computer/sluggish wi fi stuff going on this morning. Seems like around 8 am, it got fixed and things are speedy again. I wonder if the cold temps in the fiber optic line are part of the problem. Dipped down to 21F but the sun is shining. I shut down this old laptop and did a restart and it appears it went ahead with the new W11 update I'd been stalling. So I wondered if that was part of the problem too. It's always something, lol.
Lanette
SW WA State5 -
@Lanette. The update to W11 definitely would slow things down. Every time an update comes in for my iPad, iPhone, or Windows PC, they slow down. At first I blame the ‘Internet’ but when the machine wants a reboot, I realize it was an update. Lots of data comes down through the network. In the past, it would be a disk to update that you would have to put in and take out several times sometimes for the update. I like the quiet updates better, even when they slow down the device for a bit.
@Allie, condolences, you never know.
My DH and I say we are upright and moving around when someone asks us how we are, so we are doing great! We all laugh at that and agree!

Vicki: What a rotten day. Hope the interview is more successful.
Annie: Glad to see your posts again. You are doing the best for both you and your dad.
Allie: Sorry about your friend.
Heather: We just got a red storm warning on our phones for tomorrow morning. Never got one of those before. All schools here are being closed, and public transportation is suspended. People have been asked to stay home. I’m off to find all my portable phone chargers to charge them up. The storm is due to hit landfall on the west coast of Ireland in the early morning and sweep across Northern Ireland and Scotland. We’ve already had two big storms this winter. This one looks even bigger.

Mo We've got this exercise thing! I heard everyone's "voices" telling me it is just 15 minutes. Just do it! Not only did I house walk for 15 mins yesterday morning but also last night. I even hit 10k steps! If I can do 15 mins dedicated per day I am happy. Extra is awesome!
Jennifer I have NSVT. Rarely do I even notice when it acts up. Was told I needed to walk. No HITT exercises, but steady. Well, for the first time in weeks, I felt it when I started walking around house in the morning. I just slowed my pace and kept going. Once the shoulder pain eased, I was able to pick up pace again. I hope you get some answers .
So yesterday was a win. I got lots of fruits, vegetables, and water. Was under calories, thanks to walking. Got 39 mins exercise! Walked 10k steps. Got three errands run.
Barbie I am proud of you for doing things that you haven't had to do in recent times.
I have had this saved for two days! I will submit then check back in this evening.
Much love,

I did fifteen minutes of each meditation and bike! Yay! It's a comeback day!
And I paid some old bills. Two of them were old enough to embarrass me. I must be careful to go through the pile more often. Oh well it's paid now and that's all I can do. I feel like I ought to apologize to someone somewhere.
Annie in Delaware6 -
Lanette I found "The Bay" on Brit Box" and watched enough of the first episode to see that I liked it and it's now in my lineup of shows to continue watching. Thank you.
I called Social Security at 10:15 this morning and when they said the wait was at least 120 minutes I took the option to leave a call back number. I have walked and am now riding my exercise bike more than 180 minutes later while I wait. I'm watching "Mountain Detective"
🌞🌻Barbie7 -
Terri - stay safe!
Rita - I wish the teleporter hadn't ended up in scrap pile, I'd have it pick you up and come help me with these laptops. I'm sure you're right, it was installing the new W11. Since the "ready to be installed" icon in the bottom tray had disappeared, I figured it was a done deal. Makes a lot of sense that everything slowed down to "crawl" speed while this was going on.
Barbie - I loved "Mountain Detective" too! Thanks for reminding me of some I need to rewatch. Glad you like "The Bay." If you can't make connections with Social Security today, I had the best luck last week calling around noon for some reason.
Kylia - House walkers unite! Good job.
Against my better judgement, I installed "365" after the first of the year in hopes I could get both laptops talking to each other. It's not working like I thought it would, not updating even though it says it saved to OneCloud. And it no longer lets me save to folders on the PC even though it says it's doing so. For the time being I've turned OneCloud off until I have the time and temperament to deal with it again. It's probably easy, I just don't have the patience to check out the tutorials right now.

Social Security just called back. My local office will contact me when they have appointments available. They have none now. I am fortunate that I am not counting on them for benefits. I just want to get all the stuff finished

Lisa - Forgot to congratulate you on paying off your debts.
I too love my little spot on this earth and am finding more peace than ever in this life. I also know that anything can happen at any moment, but I hope I am more equipped to ride out the waves.
John had a wonderful time with his cricket friend. He said he wishes they lived nearer to each other.
His ear isn't hurting, but he's still bunged up.
I made my signature mushroom omelette tonight as John had a huge lunch of tomato and basil soup, and fish and chips. John said my omelette was amazing. I have my heroine Elizabeth David to thank for that. I used to have her books by my bedside when I was young, and read them obsessively. I can quote them.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Yesterday, I had planned to do an easy 4 miles on the treadmill and watch something on my iPad, but I forgot my headphones! I couldn’t even listen to music. I blurted out an f bomb an apologized to the guy next to me. Kirby was behind me he was going to start the stair stepper, he offered me his headphones, I told him it was okay. Running that 42minutes was murder! If you know me, I have a jogging playlist so I run to the beat of the music. I ended up counting, I finished it but it was hard. I found a spare set of headphones and they are now in my gym bag, permanently.
