Allie - bloodwork done for the transplant team? Did I miss something? That short style is very becoming on you.
Barbie - glad you are getting your steps in and exercise. I'm finding it's easier and easier to just put off until tomorrow what I can't tackle today and be at peace.
Lisa - I see YouTube has a lot of OneDrive tutorials; I plan to plow through them one of these days. Good job finding where the terabyte lives.
Kylia - looks like you are having the same problems with OneDrive - very frustrating for sure.
Barbara - don't blame you for not wanting to bother with 365 and that OneDrive. I might not renew when the 1 year 365 subscription is up and just buy a standalone copy of Office for this new laptop. We'll see, I have 11 months to figure it out. I think there is some free OneDrive available to MS users.
Machka - So sorry to hear about your DH's Achilles injury and upcoming surgery. Hope recovery is quick. Do you use the "cloud" for file sharing or storage at your job? Folks who are working or have worked in the tech fields seem to have better brains for understanding this.
Rita - thank you for the tips. I can find the "documents" file in OneDrive, but my problem is that it doesn't appear to upload files consistently. Is there a lag? I tried to access a file I uploaded yesterday and poof, it wasn't there, despite saying "uploading to OneDrive every time I hit the SAVE button, but he files I uploaded a couple days earlier were. The data I entered on the spreadsheet suddenly was gone. Had I known that, I would have saved it to a thumb drive. That's what I was trying to avoid doing! So I've unlinked OneDrive for the time being and am saving on the PC and an external drive.
I'm going to see if the local college is having a community education class on it if I can't figure it out. I probably skipped a simple step somewhere along the line, I'll see what Professor YouTube says.
Also Rita, good luck finding an apartment. Sounds like there are some nice ones in your area and utilities included is a plus.
Nice sunny day here, it didn't freeze last night - came close. Down into the mid-20's again for the next 4 days, then rain starts up. Maybe a little snow.

Pip - How is are you still in Pismo? Your dogs are so cute! Their little coats kill me.
Heather - We have GOT to talk about your sock fetish. Two pairs?!!, Thermals?! I cant! I was so sorry to hear about your sons friend. How is your son doing? I am sending prayers your way.
Rita - That joke, Two tired, I know it was pages ago, I found this far funnier than I should have.
Michelle in NC - Did you survive Snopocalypse? I'm still cold and going to a hockey game tonight which isn't going to help my situation.
Beth - I am currently investigating my e-bird feeder options. Those pics are cold but beautiful.
Rebecca - I've tried those stevia sweeteners. I just cant get past the "brightness" as you put it. It's honey and maple syrup for this girl. I've never swallowed the wax either, its just weird. But I don't mind chewing it for awhile. How are you liking the Hu Bars? We are on our last 4 episodes of Yellowstone and I don't feel good about it. ha! Your sons new truck cracked me up. Its like a trucklet. I would be nervous in that thing.
Debbie - The cost of eggs here seem to be pretty close to what you're paying. They are really hard to find at all for the most part.
Tracey - I am waiting for the sock wearing days to end. I have been so cold lately that I have been resting my feet on a hot pack while at my desk. Payroll is a weekly stressor for us as well. If only we could get our payments in a timely manner. Ugh.
Mo - Gab away. I love reading your work adventures. Reminds me of my years in medical. Bless you for being there.
Ginny - The cold also makes me a hermit. I hope you are feeling better now.
Machka - Congrats on the new Grandbaby!
Barbie - Sending you prayers.
Kylia - I am a beekeeper and love raw local honey. It was huge in helping my allergies back in the day. I need your heated vest in my life. I have also made errors in logging over the years. I am always relieved to find them and see my numbers were better than I thought.
Lanette - Covid was rough. I had it a few years back. I have never tried Zicam, but elderberry is a staple in my home, purse, desk, car. BTW - Lemon blueberry coffee cake sounds divine.
Flea - Congrats on your daughter getting married! You have a lot going on. Ill do my best to keep up.
Lisa - My sista! Good lord and wooosahhh. First let me say.........Crapweed SOB , crapweasel....... I was dead reading these and have committed them to memory. I clean when I am angry or anxious. So my house is pretty spotless. I also reorganize and purge. Exercise however is probably my favorite way to vent. I'm sure your daughter is worried about this whole mess. I am so sorry she has to deal with this. I hope this is resolved for you all of you very soon.
Omgosh, there's so much more here I want to get to, but I am out of time. I hope I kept it all straight. I apologize if I didn't. Ill try better to stay caught up. I have been crazy busy with work. We finished end of year and are right in to our busy pool season already. We have new tower work coming and are in the midst of several "popular donut shop" remodels and new construction. I've missed a few workouts and breath work sessions, but am getting back to it with gentle prodding by my coach. I have managed to get to a girls night out. We went to see a male review. Yup.........you read that right. I also went out to a hockey game last night. We won!!! Tonight I am busy with baby shower prep, as tomorrow is the baby shower. I am so excited for my friend having the baby. She's is already such a great Mom.
Off to buy mini croissants and cream puffs. Ha! Pray for me.
Heidi in the NC frozen tundra.
PS - Did anyone else crack up about the naked dude whom they have since deleted that posted in the "Love yourself" thread? I want so badly to unsee it. ha!7 -

Well have had some nice things happen recently. I had gotten a new pots and pans set last weekend, so I had some of my older pots free to whomever wished them. It was posted on the local for sale site on FB. Some people inquired but one was on the mainland, and another never bothered to get back with me. Then yesterday I had a local couple inquire and turns out the gal had some surgery so she sent her husband to get the items. We texted and turned out she is a classically trained soprano singer and also a local walker. So when she heals up from whatever surgery she had, we'll start walking. Also her 7 yr old takes piano lessons on the street over (the first rental location before we had to move here). So hopefully I can be introduced to the piano teacher and at least be able to play her piano and exercise my fingers and brain doing that. The singer is 33 yrs old and we got along swimmingly!
Then today I met a local gal at her home in downtown Oak Harbor to buy two pillow cases with sushi prints on them. To go with that ramen pillow on the spare bed.😋🍱💖. She lived in Yokosuka, married to a retired sailor, and loves ramen! So hopefully we can get together for lunch soon. Our friendship started the moment I said hello. Navy friends come really easy to me, and we have so much in common.👍🏼
It was just nice meeting two new friends!

I didn’t share our latest drama because I wanted to get it straightened out first. Someone with a name that sounded fake paid a huge (more than we make in a month) Chase credit card bill with e-pay from our checking account. Of course, I discovered it when we were all snowed in. I had to wait a day for the roads to clear and the bank to open, go in person and sign a letter of dispute. They told me it might take up to 10 days to reverse the payment, but our money was pending by the time I got home and clearly in our account this morning. They told me that they didn’t think it was necessary for us to change our account at this time. Keep a close eye on it and if it happens again, then we will do the extreme thing. All of our retirement checks are automatically deposited, plus we automatically pay several bills as well. It will be a major pain if we have to do that.
Pt kicked my butt today, but I resisted the urge to take Tylenol. I’ve been pill free for 4 days. Life is good.9 -
Good Evening,
Well, it has taken me an hour to read one page as the kittens wanted to help! She had all kinds of screens opened and closed!
Someone asked me how work was going with no nicotine. Tomorrow will be day 11. Most days have been fine, but for some reason today was ROUGH! Just stupid stuff .....why are we running a surging snow blower for 30 minutes! Obviously something else is wrong....just stop! All noises were irritating me. Sister in law left at 11. I sent granddaughter home at noon. I got some things done. Just tried to stay out of everyone else's circus' today. Thank you for the encouragement. My DH vapes. For a while he vaped and smoked. The doctor's comment about a little nicotine was just weird to me. He said it is like caffeine. A little can be good for the body, too much not so good. My DH's decision on vaping, my concerns for him right now would be prediabetic, high liver numbers, and needing to lose weight. Even those things I can't control, but can assist by giving him healthy choices. Today is a"rest" day according to Fitbit. I am tired tonight, so will be content with my 15 min walk this morning and less than 10K steps today. My eating was really crazy today. I did hit protein goal and fiber goal with some creativity. I even got in 4 types of berries, grapes, tomatoes, spinach, romaine, and cucumber for fruits and veggies. I had hard boiled eggs for breakfast, then wanted crunchy so had cinnamon almond biscuit cookie. Ate a salad for early lunch. Had planned on meat and potatoes later, but filled up on salad which put me behind on protein. Had another hard boiled egg with my fruits nibbling this afternoon. That left me 40 g short on protein and short on fiber. My dinner was a plant based protein drink, a soft tortilla with a slice of baby Swiss and Havarti cheese, and a nonfat Greek yogurt. I am over by 130 calories, but not hungry in the least. Soooo....all in all it wasn't an awful day, just a "pot holey" one.
Machka Scary for you and your DH. I can't help but think the timing for your new place has been perfect. I take it he has depth perception issues? My DH does since he only sees with part of one eye. It does make walking on uneven/unmarked surfaces interesting. Prays for successful surgery and quick healing.
Heidi I have to find another local beekeeper as mine from the past 5 years sold out and moved away. Local honey has helped mine and my DH's allergies so much! The Lemon Blueberry Coffee cake was/is divine! I put half of it in the freezer. The calorie count was ridiculous, so ended up cutting my servings in half. I still got the yummy sweet, just not as much.
Rebecca That is awesome that you are making some new like minded friends!
Allie Cute haircut!
Terry Like Heather said, we hope you fair well during this bad weather.
Katie That sucks! I am glad it hot resolved quickly. Yay on continued healing!
Ladies, I am heading to bed! Normally would be watching Barrett-Jackson with DH but he was napping and I just can't handle the noise tonight.
Stay safe and warm!
Feel the hugs and love surrounding all of you!
Thank you for continuing to share and encourage!
Much love,
Kylia in Ohio
MFP was being really weird last night for me. Couldn't connect even though I was connected. Finally kicked me out on all platforms, asked if I was human, let me get into diary, but sporadically in community. Thankful it has been fine tonight.2 -
Michele. Thank you for sending me your Christmas card fronts, for me to use next year in decorating envelopes etc. I appreciate them!
Hugs!

Came home from work after prebowling and baked more of the pork chops. Then made a lemon cake for Vince and iced it. Just got back from my walk around the neighborhood. Seems I can do that, only slower, my heel is still bothering me and I suspect it will for some time.
From what I can determine online, Accused is most likely, if not already, going to be cancelled.
Allie – what you said about our lives changing in a moment is so very true. I just saw on FB today that a gal I went to grammar and the high school died unexpectedly. We weren’t close at all. I just knew her name, that’s about it
kylia – con-very-grats. You are doing so well.
Heather – how do you make the spinach feta frattata?
M – so sorry about your hubby. I know that not being able to walk drove me up a wall. Oh, no...surgery! When is the surgery scheduled for?
Allie – cute hair. All great suggestions for the bed. People love to get things for free. If you donate it to the Salvation Army, you know it’ll go to helping someone out and I’m sure your grandmother would really like that.
Rita – I was asked if I was a human. Didn’t get anything about a cookies warning, tho.
Now that it’s a bit warmer out, I’ve started walking around the block again. Vince think that tomorrow he might start walking with me some. Even if he just gets to the end of the block, I’ll continue, but that’s a start.
I’m so disgusted with myself. Lately, I’ve been eating just too much of decent food. Like today I had two pieces of cheese, having a lot of fruit, even veggies. But lately I’ve been going over calories.
Lisa – I usually keep some things in my pocketbook like fruit strips or mints for when I’m hungry and can’t go home. Just a little something to tide me over.
Heidi – are you going to see the Hurricanes? A naked dude??! Wish I’d seen that...lol
pip – I hope it’s nothing serious with Kirby.
Rebecca – so glad you found that woman. Sounds like you’ll be a good match. Please post a pic of those pillowcases
katie – how horrible someone paid the bill! Hope it stays straightened out.
Kylia – congrats on the no nicotine
Rebecca – I’m assuming that you can also use the fronts to other cards like Valentine’s Day, etc.
Earlier tonight I had the worst pain in my stomach. Not sure what brought it on. I felt like I wanted to throw up, got all crampy in my legs. Now it’s over. Don’t know what that was all about. I bet that’s how people who have had WLS feel when they overeat. Just glad that it’s over. Maybe this will be good for me, help remind me why I really don’t want to overeat or eat things not real good for me. Will hope.

Heidi in the NC frozen tundra., the Truvia sweetener I buy is a blend of white cane sugar and Stevie sugar, so its not too bad. I have a little spoon I use just a wee bit in my coffee. I love the almond butter filled chocolate bars. Quite yummy! The chocolate is only 70% cacao so its not bitter at all.
Yes his trucks are very small, but he loves them. Here's us discovered by the Google car, and we're waving. I am on the left side as its a Japanese right hand drive truck.
Here's his truck at a car meet. She's jutting her chin out a bit.💖
I am hoping his new to him truck will work out as well and he doesn't try to mess with the engine.

My husband will need surgery ... it's a complete rupture with a 2 cm gap between the pieces.
Because of his brain injury, he has minimal feeling in his left leg, especially his lower left leg. So he's not in much pain and has been telling me that it's getting better.
Several of his brain injury issues, and the "lay of the land" contributed toward this accident. He stepped off a low retaining wall not realising he was on the low retaining wall. That happened on about Jan 3.

8.5 hours at the Emergency Department all up.
We went in really early in the morning (awake at 5 am, at hospital by 6 am), which was a good thing because by the time we left, the place was packed.
They decided to put his left foot & leg into a pointed-toe cast for now - his foot is forced into a tippy-toe position.
It's the Australia Day long weekend here, so all the private Orthopaedic Surgeons are closed for the weekend and the public ones are running on a skeleton staff. Only emergency orthopaedic surgeries are being performed.
The pointed-toe cast is usually used in the early days after someone completely snaps their Achilles tendon with the hope that the two ends of the tendon will be drawn close enough together to think about beginning the mending process. Apparently it works occasionally. In this case, there's about 0% chance that it will work, but it may help prevent the situation from getting any worse.
The down-side of the cast is that he cannot/must not put that foot down on the floor. So we've got a small collection of mobility tools like a walker, bars around the toilet, etc. But still, getting him into the van and getting him into the house were challenges!
For the next 2 days, we'll just stay put, then on Tuesday when things open up again, we'll spring into action.
He needs to go for a doppler ultrasound to check for blood clots, and we'll get the name of an orthopaedic surgeon who can do this type of surgery well. It's complicated by the frayed ends, the gap between the ends, the fact that the injury will be 4 weeks old, and his age.
But I got 20 minutes of walking in by going up and moving the vehicle slightly every couple hours! I was thinking of going out again shortly, but it's raining heavily across the bay right now (one of the hills just disappeared!), and that's coming this way. According to Windy, it's supposed to rain for a bit which would be really good for the garden.

Machka - recovery is going to be a long job, but I'm sure you know that. I have a friend who chopped a ligament in half with a bread knife falling on her foot. She had it misdiagnosed, so it was weeks before it was fixed. A long, frustrating, recovery, and she was very fit. Sending my sympathy.
Burns Night tonight. Max and Jack are coming over. A bit of prep to do, but I've done some of it.

Yesterday was interesting, to say the least. The coastguard station a mile away from us recorded 101mph gusts. The winds were howling outside. They have dropped considerably this morning, but still having some gusty periods. We had the whole eye of the storm thing in the middle of it all when the wind died, with blue skies and sunshine for about 90 minutes before they suddenly howled back in.
Our lights flickered a few times but no cuts. The roof blew off our local leisure centre. Many roads are still blocked by fallen trees. Lots of roof and trees related damage all over the place.
We were very fortunate that we didn’t suffer any damage, just a few things moved about in the garden. We have earmarked a couple of trees for the chop, as they could be a problem in future storms.
Neighbours had some slight roof damage, but nothing too serious. I think the two storms we had earlier this winter made people more proactive this time. Very few people were out and about.
We checked the boat moorings before the storm and we haven’t heard of any damage from the marina. DH or DYD will check on the boat some time today, when the winds have dropped.
I feel very blessed that our famliy has emerged unscathed.

Teri-glad your family made it through safely. We have tornado concerns where I live-it is incredible the damage the winds can do.
Machka-did they provide crutches for your husband? Can you get a wheelchair? I had to be toe touch only for 6 weeks after a surgery once-it was a great core workout but very tiring.
Allie-thanks for clarification regarding transplant list-I was a bit confused also. I knew you were on a list but the way I read your comments I thought it had been scheduled!
Off to start Saturday tasks.
Take care all,

He tried crutches, but we decided they were way too dangerous for him. So he chose a walker.
Fortunately our house is all one level inside with hard surface flooring, so it's not too difficult to get around.

...Today is a"rest" day according to Fitbit. I am tired tonight, so will be content with my 15 min walk this morning and less than 10K steps today. ...
Kylia in Ohio
Kylia - Caught that comment of yours because my Fitbit app keeps telling me I'm working too hard, as well. Not to put too fine a point on it, but I'm seriously either doing a chair workout or walking on the elliptical between 10 and 15 minutes a day each day. I don't believe that is too hard by any measure. So I'm wondering if it thinks I must take a rest day, rather than go for 7 straight? I've also wondered if it cannot figure out the AFib thing, and thinks my heart is working overtime, when it's genuinely not. But I've been in AFib for almost six years now, and it's never had an issue before.
This is this morning's screen:
Did some research, and it may have to do with their new "cardio load" metric. I moved my Active Zone minutes goal up, because that was just at default, and selected a cardio load selection of maintenance to see what happens. If that doesn't work, I may just have to remove that as any kind of goal (if possible) just to get it off my screen. It's annoying after a week or two. 😐
Terri - So glad you and your family are OK. As someone else said, it's awe-inspiring, the destruction wind can accomplish all on its own.
Machka - A pointed toe cast does not sound like it's easy or cheap in terms of your energy levels. One thing I've seen here, particularly for those with ankle injuries, is this kind of scooter, where the bent leg and knee rests on the padded area:
Heather - Oidhche bhlas Burns! and sláinte mhath! Hope the Burns night celebration is lovely. Many hugs for your son.
Heidi - Glad you like my Southern-born epithets for my ex-son-in-law. Pretty sure I get it from my mama. Love it when someone comes in and talks - I can seldom respond to more than a few people, but love reading those of you who do - and often find something in your responses that I totally missed, and have to skip back a few pages. Don't feel you MUST though. You've enough demands on your time already, and we're just glad you're here.
I am... in full morning flow, after scrambling into town yesterday kinda swirled my day around. My only weekend laundry, Corey's work clothes, is already in the dryer. He just woke up, so was able to get a nice long sleep, and I'll ferry some more coffee in to him in a bit so he can enjoy his morning.
My ex-father-in-law was a rough, gruff, alcoholic, but he made coffee and took it in to his wife in bed every single morning. It was the only sign of softness or human connection I ever saw in him. After she was awake, they fought at the top of their lungs all day long. Don't know why I remembered that this morning. Things break through.
Anyway--regarding the trip I was on earlier, on why men make stupid jokes about boyfriends to their wives:I told Corey the background of the question, our conversation this last week or two, about men (and women) who are insecure and make stupid jokes about boyfriends/girlfriends to their spouses, and that they're probably afraid the person will leave them, so they're making a joke to get some reassurance. I then told him he'd never hear that joke from me again, and why.
And then I asked him why he had always been so sure of me, never a jealous person (especially after he actually met my ex-husband) and never making any joke or anything like it along those lines. Basically I asked him why he's always been sure I would stay, even at the very beginning.
It caught him off guard, so he told the truth, rather than making a joke of it at the outset... and said "Because you were true. Everything you said you were, you were, from the very beginning." And then, because he can't resist the joke in the end, he grinned at me and said, "And because your last marriage lasted 27 years--I figured I had lots of time before you ran off."
That's why he gets coffee in bed on the weekends. In a cup, not in the actual bed with him... 😏😉🐈⬛ Not sure anyone else ever actually looked at me before and knew me that well. Ever.
OK - That's probably going to turn into a video script. Might as well inflict other people with all that wisdom! Bahahahaha!
Later,
Love y'all,

Rebecca I like Hu get back to human chocolate too. It is organic, no lecithins no emulsifiers, among other positives. It has less sugar because it is 70% cocoa. It is also fair trade. I also like the one with mint it uses quinoa to get a crunch. Mint is harder to find I have to go to a more expensive grocery store to find that one. I eat less of the mint because it is a treat. Even the cashew and simple chocolate is a bit pricier than other chocolate bars, I figure you get what you pay for. It is also more satisfying so I again it less to help balance out the cost.
My 40 year old washer passed yesterday so off to buy a new one. I will probably get the dryer too because my dryer is 20 years old and also has issues. I was going to go speed queen but I have decided to go with either Maytag or Whirlpool. I know they are not the machines of 40 years ago but it is what it is.4 -
Pip ~ Love that the dogs are sleeping together! They look so cute! Sorry that Kirby is not feeling well.
Rita ~ I hope you find a new place to live soon.
Allie ~ So many tests you have to endure. Feeling for you.
Katiebug ~ The bank account incident would have made me livid with worry. So glad you got it straightened out.
Rebecca ~ So glad you have found two new friends on the island! I know you love to sing and play the piano! And a navy wife friend is a bonus. Your son’s truck is cute.
Kylia ~ You seem to be doing really well cutting down on the nicotine. My son has been vaping but I think he is doing it way too much. He knows it is not good for his heart and hope he succeeds at some point. I have never had the desire to smoke but I sure do like my wine every evening.
Machka ~ Your husband’s foot problem sounds really bad and I am so sorry you are having to wait to get the surgery. Managing the movements into and around the house sounds tough for you and him.
Terri ~ The winds sound frightening. Glad you have not sustained a lot of damage.
Lisa ~ Your Cory is a WINNER! I can’t remember the last time my DH of 56 yrs said something nice like that to me!
Sorry to say I have been having several days of binging after dinner. I do well during the day but in the evening I can’t seem to resist snacking on chips, cookies, etc. I think some of it may be due to taking the anti-depressants again.
I have continued to doing my house walking! I know it makes me feel better to be moving more.

My dog loving friend (the one who was the breeder of our poodles) came over today to use my printer and brought me a pot of homemade vegetable beef soup--enough to fill seven single serving freezer jars. We has a great visit til I had to go for my mammogram. I came home to a message from her that she couldn't find her cell phone and it must have been left at my house. With Annie's help I looked everywhere and found five of Annie's orange balls, a dryer ball and some undies that were behind the dryer, but no phone. It wasn't until she and her husband came back to my house to look that they found the phone on the hood of their car. It had stayed there on the drive back to her house and then back to mine.

Barbie-thank goodness that phone stayed on there car goodness.

But my hips made my sleep horrible ,the lupus i think is was and is acting up..oh well5 -
Lisa ... I like your Cory!
Machka ... so sorry about your husband's tendon ... praying for his healing!
Terri ... I read in our news this morning that your historic winds were part of the same storm system that caused such havoc here in the US.
Kay ... I shared your phrase "entitlement eating" with my doctor yesterday. We both laughed!
I'm scheduled for surgery next Friday and was having my medical clearance appointment yesterday. Didn't get that yet. Seems there was a "blip" on the EKG so I'm having a nuclear stress test on Monday. Better safe than sorry.
More snow here near Buffalo .. around another foot ... enough already!

Kirby says he’s feeling better this morning.
Hugs to all that need them, especially you Barbiecat. I think of the struggle and serious depression I was going through when Lenny passed, take things slow, take your time.
Congrats to all that deserved them, hello to all new peeps.

Yes there is a lag, how long depends on the size of the file, your internet speed at the time, how many users are using the Onedrive at the time, and how fast your computer is. I would suggest saving to your hard drive right after saving to the cloud, both for a backup and to give Onedrive time to catch up.
Thank you all for the good wishes concerning my house search. I plan for the move to happen by/in March.

drkatiebug wrote: »I didn’t share our latest drama because I wanted to get it straightened out first.
Life is good.
At the very least, please change your password to at least 12 characters with lower, and upper case letters, numbers, and at least 1 special character (!,&,$,-. and whatever your bank allows. Spaces are great but not many banks accept them in passwords). Since they payed by electronically, change the passwords to the bill companies that you pay automatically too. They should all be different and have the above format. I’ve know it’s a pain but better safe than sorry. 12 or more characters is almost impossible to break. Using a pass phrase like Machka recommended may be easier to remember. Not this one because it is common but something like 2BorNot2B!! (to be or not to be!!) Is a passphrase sample. Please do not use the example as it is a common passphrase.

Rita, good luck on your house search. It's been a long time since I did that and I still remember how difficult it was.
Pip, Thank you for your encouragement. I remember all you said about losing Lenny.
Beth, Best wishes on a smooth road to your surgery.
Allie, You are amazing how you navigate all your health challenges.
