Introducing myself and seeking a support community

Hi everyone: I'm Stacey, 65 years old and with a lot of weight to lose. No one in my family for at least two generations has had a healthy relationship with food or fitness, so am struggling to change a lifetime of crappy eating habits. Looking for a group to check in with every morning and anytime I might be tempted to make a stupid choice. Thanks and happy to be here!

    Hello, Stacey, and welcome!

I'm a senior, too (69) and an MFP oldie as well (been here since 2015, loss then maintenance).

I don't have a specific group to suggest to you, but there are a number of groups/threads that have that kind of purpose, though with variations in timing and such. With a bit of looking around, you might find one that suits you. They're most concentrated in these parts of the Community:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/motivation-and-support
    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges

Most of the ones that exist are all-ages participation, but I've found that we tend to have more in common across age groups than unique to one, when it comes to weight management.

There's also a chat thread for 60+ people here, where you can post pretty much anything you'd like to fellow 60+ people:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10718336/60-yrs-and-up#latest

Don't be dismayed if you open that up and see old posts. Like any long-running thread here, the newest posts are at the end, on the high-numbered pages. You can jump straight there using the number/arrow links near the top/bottom of the posts list on any page in the thread. Reading the last page or two would give you a feel for the thread. It's still active.

Best wishes for success: The quality of life improvements are worth the effort it takes to get there, IME!
