C25K is short for Couch to 5K, getting non-runners to a 3.1 mile run.

It is really a program for people who have not ran. It gets someone who is not a runner off the couch and training/working towards a 5K. If you already run 3-5 miles a day, it is probably not a program for you...it is an interval training and it starts with short running/walking intervals and works up by adding more running time over the course of 9 weeks. Hope that helps!

It's wonderful that you can run that much daily but there are a lot of people like myself who are extremely out of shape and need a program that can get us up to being able to run the 3.1 miles. The name is "Couch to 5k" meaning that a person who is sedantary or a couch potato is able to do this program the way it's worked out with weekly interval training and increase. After 9 weeks you go from being unable to run at all to running 3.1 miles in about half an hour. It's ag reat program for those of us who need to learn to run and to get in shape.
