    Replacement wall outlet like the one below. Exciting eh?

    One of the sockets at my place is arcing, buzzing and has started blowing fuses of things connected to it. Fairly sure it's the outlet and not the wiring as the socket next to it shares the connectors and is working fine.

    Off to power off the ring main in my building before I start ⚡

    Update: Didn't die.

    Few unforseen things - had to re-arrange all the wiring behind the outlet because the new one had terminals in different places to the old one, also the live, earth and neutral wires used a different colour code because the building is so old.

    Also, probably should have done this during the day but an arcing power outlet is pretty urgent. Luckily the head torch was charged.

    I know, I know! This is surely the most exciting thing you've read all day..../s
