    Start weight: 145.6 lb
    Today’s weight: 141.0 lb
    UGW: 120.0 lb
February goal: 136.0 lb (Trying for 5lb/month)

Good morning! It’s sunny and 72 degrees here on Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America?!).

dannytrees1: Looks like you’re almost to goal— CONGRATS !!!

HappyDonkey75: Hoping the meds give Xena a boost. I have a tiny rescue dog named Pink who came to us as a “hospice dog” and thought I’d lost her yesterday when she collapsed. After sitting with her for a few hours, she seems to have rallied and is up and walking and eating again. Don’t know how much time she has left but I want her to feel loved every minute of it!

I see some indoor rowing, some meal prepping, and some decluttering in my future today; maybe help my husband with some yard work.

I HATE yard work but I love him and always try to find some task I can do for him on the weekends. He is severely disabled and can’t do the heavy stuff anymore but his yard makes him happy, so. I’ll be moving a garage full of plants back outside after sheltering them there after the cold snap last month. Going to work around my bum shoulder and get it done.

    Wishing everyone a great month!

Was on a plateau for most of Nov, Dec, Jan. Let’s hope it’s behind me. Hormonal treatment had a role to play in that but hopefully that’ll ease off now too. I was not doing much strength training last year so it’s possible I lost muscle mass and now my metabolism is not at its best. I was previously sidelined by a back injury and apprehensive about restarting strength training (I used to train A LOT and loved it). So yeah, something needs to change in order to kick back into gear.

February Goal- 165 (First GOAL Weight IS IN SIGHT !)

Trying to decide, do I just shoot for my Goal weight this month? Or shoot for more? 160? Getting to this place feels like it has taken a LONG time and ALOT of work. Two months in a row of a 5+ lbs loss would be a bit tough I think just given how it seems like my body works. Big loss and then static for a while. I am a little weary of the discipline alot of days but I am not ready to let off the gas just yet.

About 44 lbs in just under a year. That seems slow when I think about it that way. March of 2024 was when I started in earnest (and it was limited since I had knee surgery setback in April)

So what do you all think? Challenge myself or give myself some grace?

@Latitude27N - thank you . Xena is continues to do well, even went to do farm chores with me yesterday.. She has always loved doing that so it was good to have her with. I pray little Pink goes softly knowing she was loved and cared for in her last days. Its so hard but grateful for people like you who can do these rescues. the majority of animals are rescues. Xena was and was close to euthanasia because she was so fear aggressive. That never really went totally away but we managed it and put some training into her and she has been the best dog ever.

@canadamarie - I think strength training is a great idea. It might just shake things up enough for your body to start responding.. Hang in there and you will get through this plateau. I'm rooting for you! I started doing the Caroline Girvane videos a couple of times a week to help mix up my routine and it has helped but they are HARD. Some moves I just don't do well, atleast not yet.

January produced about a 2 pound loss. Not much but better than nothing. I’m hoping to ramp up my efforts in February. Do more cooking and plan out my meals.

Sending love and hugs to Xena and Pink!

I’m super discouraged today as I plateaued all of January…..the good news is I cut way back on wine and increased my exercise time. The not great news is I’m up a pound starting a new month, sigh….and I’m still snacking - last night was ice cream we had in the freezer since Thanksgiving and never opened lol…

I’m going to do some healthy meal planning this weekend.

Hi everyone. I’m plateauing like some of you as well. 135.8. No snacks for me.

No matter how I stepped on the scale, I couldn't get it to stick at 211.9 this morning. Tomorrow will be higher, but I am hoping to get back down to 209 again this month.

For reasons too boring to go into, had a dreadful 2022 health wise, was coming back in 2023 then in 2024 had an unrelated setback in the spring. I feel great now but have fallen so far out of any reasonable self care habits that I am as heavy today.as I’ve been since 2016 when I tackled my weight for once and for all (yeah, wrong about that, eh?)

Had already decided to hyper-focus in February to get back on track and then saw this so here I am. Current weight, 230#. Goal for end of February 220#. I know it’s aggressive but I AM willing to hyper-focus and, at least 3-4# of that is water retention from a crap diet while I traveled to Ontario this week. So here I am, grateful for any support, thanks for having me.

I can tell I’m carrying a ton of water weight, my socks are leaving imprints around my ankles (cankles haha). So this has to be addressed.

@HappyDonkey75 thanks for the words of encouragement. You’re right sometimes you need to shock your body out of a plateau so if I can do some intense strength training without risking my back again that could do the trick.

Tough question. I think you’ve done exceptionally well in a year and yes the discipline gets so tiring. How about challenging yourself to maintain? Like a trial run with maintenance. So it’s a bit of grace but still working. Then put the foot on the pedal again in March.

I am working today, and then I will do a workout tonight. I have my meals for the next three days planned as well. We had a big lunch yesterday, which I knew was going to inflate the number on the scale. Today it's back to salads and chicken.

Welcome @felixisalady! I hope you find some encouragement and inspiration from this group. We're all on different weight loss journeys, but here to encourage and share, and we're happy to have you join us!

@Michieb125 a plateau is maintaining - so you held your current progress. Try not to let that discourage you. You are still showing up and tracking. <3 I hope the meal planning helps, and that as we move into the month you begin to see the results you want again.

@Latitude27N Welcome again. I love that you have given a home to Pink! <3 Sending lots of good energy to her, that her days are happy and she knows how much she is loved.

@dannytrees1 Keep going friend! I love your positivity! Watching your progress has been such an inspiration!

@canadamarie If weight training feels too aggressive for the moment, could you do something like a weight vest, where you move just carrying weight on you to build up strength, and when confident the back injury is in the past, move into starting again with strength training? I too get those marks on my ankles, but I think it's because I'm sitting for half the day for work. I tend to do my walking after work, in the evening, to get that circulation going again.

@HappyDonkey75 I think you have to do what YOU want to do. Maybe challenge yourself to 163, but still have grace with yourself if it doesn't materialize. You've done fabulous. It's in sight. See what it takes to get lower than 165 this month. You obviously have this dialed in pretty well to have stayed on track so far.

@Kupla71 Congrats on the 2lb loss! Be kind with the words you say to yourself -- If someone came to you excited they lost 2 lbs, you'd be like WAY TO GO!!! So do the same for yourself. 2 lbs! Congrats!

@cupcakesandproteinshakes Plateauing just for now. You've got this. <3

Please everyone just keep in mind that each journey here is different. Comparison is the theif of joy. We're all going about this how it's best for each of us, so we really can't compare our progress against each other. Negative self talk only hurts YOU. Don't be your own worst critic. If you don't like your results today, tell yourself you'll do better tomorrow and take whatever actions to make that happen. We can do this.

I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.
