Was on a plateau for most of Nov, Dec, Jan. Letโ€™s hope itโ€™s behind me. Hormonal treatment had a role to play in that but hopefully thatโ€™ll ease off now too. I was not doing much strength training last year so itโ€™s possible I lost muscle mass and now my metabolism is not at its best. I was previously sidelined by a back injury and apprehensive about restarting strength training (I used to train A LOT and loved it). So yeah, something needs to change in order to kick back into gear.

February Goal- 165 (First GOAL Weight IS IN SIGHT !)

Trying to decide, do I just shoot for my Goal weight this month? Or shoot for more? 160? Getting to this place feels like it has taken a LONG time and ALOT of work. Two months in a row of a 5+ lbs loss would be a bit tough I think just given how it seems like my body works. Big loss and then static for a while. I am a little weary of the discipline alot of days but I am not ready to let off the gas just yet.

About 44 lbs in just under a year. That seems slow when I think about it that way. March of 2024 was when I started in earnest (and it was limited since I had knee surgery setback in April)

So what do you all think? Challenge myself or give myself some grace?

Iโ€™m super discouraged today as I plateaued all of Januaryโ€ฆ..the good news is I cut way back on wine and increased my exercise time. The not great news is Iโ€™m up a pound starting a new month, sighโ€ฆ.and Iโ€™m still snacking - last night was ice cream we had in the freezer since Thanksgiving and never opened lolโ€ฆ

Iโ€™m going to do some healthy meal planning this weekend.

I can tell Iโ€™m carrying a ton of water weight, my socks are leaving imprints around my ankles (cankles haha). So this has to be addressed.

@HappyDonkey75 thanks for the words of encouragement. Youโ€™re right sometimes you need to shock your body out of a plateau so if I can do some intense strength training without risking my back again that could do the trick.

Tough question. I think youโ€™ve done exceptionally well in a year and yes the discipline gets so tiring. How about challenging yourself to maintain? Like a trial run with maintenance. So itโ€™s a bit of grace but still working. Then put the foot on the pedal again in March.

I feel your pain. Had to make a quick trip to London, ONT and gained 6 pounds in 5 days. Itโ€™s virtually all water and Iโ€™ll feel like crap until itโ€™s gone. Whereabouts in Canada are you?

My cold is thisclose to gone, I finally feel human again. Back to high protein, low carb today to kick start my week. I also feel well enough to attend my strength class today. Logging during the week is getting better, working on weekends next.

    Have a great day all!

    Comment (02/02/25):
"Over" 785 calories, so I'm not surprised about the gain. For the remainder of February, a two-forked (no pun intended) approach to losing weight: 1) At, or below, daily calorie budget, 2) Exercise (and just more moving, in-general).

    Thanks for the welcome, @ManifestingToday!

Day 2 of the great re-boot. Stayed focused and on track. Today = 229.3, coming down as expected r/t being done with travel for now. No workout yet but got my 10K steps by walking farther in the studio, doing errands, and doing chores.

For this week, I will drink all the water, write down all the food, and get at least 10K steps at least 5 days.

Thanks for the support - we all got this!

Great insight, and having a plan will help, immensely. Best wishes!
