Struggling

I’m really having a hard week, I’m eating so much and I know I’m not hungry. I crave sweets so much but being a diabetic I’m on low carb. I have lost a little over 90 pounds but have hit a candy craving bump lol.

Hi! I have had that issue this week....and I am diabetic, too. There is no shame in treating yourself in moderation. If you deprive yourself completely, you will go crazy with cravings. Have a little something. I had one small piece of cake this afternoon....I don't feel guilty. And you shouldn't either. 🙂

what about taking on sugar free dessert making to solve your problem? There are also sugar free chocolates. There are solutions.

I like the sugar free Russell Stover chocolates. They run 50 to 75 calories a piece, but they are not supposed to spike your blood sugar. Some do contain malitol which some say does spike their blood sugar, so you can look into that and see who you believe, or if you decide to choose some other sugar free chocolate. Some people are sensitive to sugar alcohol and you should limit yourself to no more than 2 pieces in case you are. I don't seem to have that issue, sometimes (rarely) on bad days I might have two with lunch and two after dinner. I do a lot of walking and don't eat all my exercise calories so I feel I can splurge a few calories on this. I also use sugar free gelatin as well, when i have that urge to eat something.

Is it something in the air? I've got it too.
I'm usually not a sweets eater, so I'm still fighting it with apples, bananas, nuts, Graham crackers. Wish me luck!
I hope you find a good way through it!

Thanks for sharing. What I struggle with in my own life is the ability to pause… and wait… when a craving hits. Anybody have any good strategies they use to slow down?

I don't keep 'treats' in the house. If I crave something, I will need to go out and get it. Can I have ice cream... yes but it I will have to walk to my car and then walk into the store. I allow myself 1 treat per month in grocery shopping.

My other trick is zero sugar jolly ranchers. I bored eat. So having a piece of hard candy gives my mouth something to do as it dissolves. I'm not looking for other food to munch on.

My meals, I focus on protein and fiber so most of the time I don't feel hunger. I only really want something when I am stressed. So soothing music and rain sounds on youtube keeps my mind calm... that and telling the boyfriend to jump in a deep hole when he's betting a b u t t :D

I hear the sweet tooth pain. I struggle too. I do well all day, most of the time, and nighttime is horrendous. I'd like to say I have a lot of success. I don't. But don't give up.

Eating more protein and fiber, as well as adequate water intake helps with cravings. 😊

mini cucumbers are a great treat. Peel left on, sliced thin.
