My son loves to bake so we try to do something every week & of course then I have this temptation in my house as everything is soooo high cal, sugar & fat.

Have been looking online for low cal easy bake recipes but wondered if anyone has any tried & tested recipes for a 4 year old to help along with.

thanks

I bake these chocolate chip cookies, they're only 63 calories per cookie. I've played around with the recipe a bit so I can eat them!

75g lite melted butter (I'm in NZ so I'm not sure what brands you use but I use a lite margarine)
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 large egg
1 cup flour (don't use wholemeal, I did once & it became one HUGE cookie haha)
    1/2 tspn baking soda
    1/2 cup chocolate chips

Beat butter, sugars & egg together. Sift flour & baking soda & add with chocolate chips to butter mixture. Stir well until combined. Place teaspoonfuls on a greased tray. Bake at 180°C or 350°F for 8-10 mins or until golden brown.
It can make 36 cookies but if you make them a bit smaller you can get more & it lowers the calories per cookie hehe

This is a nice easy recipe, my daughter enjoys making them & they're handy to whip up for school lunches.

    http://allrecipes.com/recipe/glazed-apple-cookies/detail.aspx

Can replace the shortening with butter and leave off the glaze.
