Happy Superbowl Sunday (for our US folks anyways). We have no parties planned but will hopefully be able to stream it here at home. Neither one of us are huge NFL fans but I don't mind watching the game .

Yesterday I had kind of disaster on all accounts and ended up being a high carb day. Today I will be back on track and hopefully putting that sugar demon back under wraps.
Was it worth it? I am a little disappointed in myself for caving in to the cravings but I also know that on this journey we can't always be on 100% of the time , or this is what happens... we get to a point where we want ALL the bad things .. and that is what yesterday seemed like.
Have a great day everyone.Now off to hit the treadmill...

Meal swapping (ex., eating breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast) also seems to help, sometimes.
I haven't tried calorie cycling on purpose. It just naturally happens sometimes with my cycle. There are definitely days where I net more than I should, and less than I should. The variation seems to be more about my exercise calories though than my intake. My gross calories are usually 1400-1500. Some days as low as 1200 and others as high as 1700. I'll have to research how to do calorie cycling. I am 47 so I am wondering if this has to do with perimenopause and my cycle being totally *kitten* up. I am on some three month cycle BC pill, and I basically just bleed all the time now. My doctor is monitoring that, but I haven't talked to her about the weight loss plateau.

@AmandaTucker127 Welcome! We're so glad you've joined us, and hope being here helps you toward your health goals!
@MercyRoth Yay! Good for you!!
I hope everyone had a decent weekend. We're gearing up for more snow Tuesday, supposedly more than a few inches, so I see at least one day of shoveling in the near future! โ๏ธ3 -

Dropping bit by bit. Iโve been eating mostly vegan for the past few days. Iโm not vegan but like to try and eat less meat so I look for vegan or vegetarian recipes to make. Honestly Iโve been feeling a little tired. I donโt know if itโs related to my diet. Iโve been cooking a lot. I made vegan Mac nโ cheese. Vegan meatloaf, and vegan apple oatmeal muffins. I did have a chicken burger for dinner today though and I have to admit, I felt better after that. Maybe I just need to incorporate more protein in my vegan meals. That could be the problem.
Have a great week everyone!! ๐๐๐3 -
135.2. Patiently waiting for a drop. I see a few of us are in peri menopause on this thread. I think weight loss is definitely more challenging in this stage of life. I im just not as active as I was when my kid was little and now Iโm working at home, I have to prompt myself to move more. 10 years ago 1600 calories would have resulted in a pound a week of weight loss for me and nowadays I think itโs closer to half a pound.5

I had an accidental sodium bomb last night. Made a super healthy dinner but forgot that the garlic powder was actually garlic salt. Oops. In other news I started GLP-1 meds last night. Had been thinking about it a long time and decided about a month ago. Lowest dose for now. There are added medical reasons for me to lose weight and this will help. Itโs not forever, probably six months to a year and then Iโll keep working at it without the support. I also bought 3 pairs of jeans! One at my current pant size, one at a mid point, and one at my goal pant size. Fun!

Rolling my eyes..
It sure is easy for that scale to climb.. not easy to go the other way. I am still struggling with getting my workouts in and pushing hard during them.
Work has been very stressful, I am not sleeping well because of dogs being sick and needing multiple out times in the middle of the night. So, just trying to get it all back on an even keel..

@CorvusCorax77 YAY! Congrats!!!
@Kupla71 Definitely try to stay on top of protein. Are you taking any supplements or vitamins? When I was vegetarian years ago, I really did a bad job of maintaining both of those.
@cupcakesandproteinshakes I hear you. It used to be I could work out a little harder cut out a few calories and the weight fell off. Now it takes eating the bare minimum and working out hard daily. Hang in there.
@MercyRoth I hope the meds help reach your goals quicker -- and great job getting the new clothes! I'm currently squeezed into a tighter pair of jeans and keep telling myself these will be more comfy when a few lbs come off.
@AmandaTucker127 That's great that your hubby is joining this with you. Welcome!
@jennigerding19 and @tishsmith101 I hope you are both feeling better now. Jenni, just keep tabs on the lung capacity. I know with flu and covid it can take some time for that to recover.
@HappyDonkey75, @dannytrees1, and anyone else popping by, I hope you have a great Tuesday.3 -

@ManifestingToday I take a vitamin D supplement but nothing else. I burned my palate pretty badly and have felt off since then. I wonder if my lethargy and general malaise has something to do with that. It still hurts and my ear hurts too. This happened about a week ago. About the same time I started eating mostly vegan. Definitely need to up my protein especially to help with the healing.

I was so unhappy to see 170 on the scale today. Four pound gain in two days?? I know it's water weight. The body retains water after lifting days, and also I had so much sodium yesterday. I ate restaurant food twice yesterday- my boss took me out to lunch (I'm broke, won't complain!) and my husband brought me home dinner- also won't complain!
@MercyRoth You're KILLING IT! I love how your progress is consistent!!
@ManifestingToday I noticed that when I do strength training, there's always a little uptick on the scale the next day. I read that the muscles need to retain water for the repair. Apparently that can happen for cardio too : https://www.livestrong.com/article/351391-water-retention-in-muscles-after-exercise/
I admit I'm a little frustrated seeing the biggest number of the month today but I know it's water from all the salt I ate yesterday, food weight from a late dinner, plus water retention from exercise. I am not going to freak out.
