    Snowing here again after 2 snow storms. I don't mind. I love the snow and winter too. Of course I don't have to shovel because I live in a condo building but it's nice to see a proper Canadian winter this year!

    Going to the gym tonight. Not sure if I'll do cardio or strength training. My left shoulder has been strained for a few weeks now. I don't know what's wrong with it. I don't have my full range of motion. Maybe I just need to stretch it out. Strength training might be difficult.

    I had an absolute sodium bomb for dinner last night so Iโ€™m surprised the scale isnโ€™t higher from water.
    @HappyDonkey75 I totally get your frustration!! This happened to me throughout November to January because of a hormone treatment. Hopefully your body will settle down soon. HRT requires a big adjustment!

    @MercyRoth - thanks for sharing that. I keep hearing there is an adjustment period . I have heard a few weeks to a few months time period. I hope its only weeks for me. Did you gain and then started losing again and get back to normal? I feel like I am in a life or death fight with my own metabolism every day.

    Definitely feeling more bloated with meals even when they are healthy meals. Just trying to focus on water, hitting protein , getting my steps and workouts in and using an herbal diuretic to see if that helps a bit.

    This is my first shot at actually using MFP for weight loss. I did WW off and on for years and had great luck with the coaching plan around 2017, breaking through to onederland for the first time in decades. But coaching was expensive and equally important to me, the points system lost all contact with actual food values. You could game the system into the most awful diet and still get the famous blue dot.

    So, held steady on my own for a number of years and then I just fell out of routine and woke up one day here. The travel #230 shocked me into paying attention.

    Think 226 is my actual โ€˜startingโ€™ weight, the rest of that was water retention from travel and salt.

    Thatโ€™s my story and Iโ€™m sticking to it, decided to join the folks that are listing weights because itโ€™s actually pretty impactful to see them together like this.

    P.S. Having to take my own advice and โ€˜trust the processโ€ Iโ€™ve been pretty righteous and nothing is moving. Iโ€™m not even DRINKING, so no fair. But itโ€™ll all work out. I have a knee injury which is preventing me from most exercise, doing Tai Chi but itโ€™s not the same as walking for milesโ€ฆ always my fallback to get things moving. On the other hand, the Tai Chi seems to have brought my borderline blood pressure back into line 109/73 this am.

    Was reading some info on WebMD yesterday that was geared toward the last 10-15 lbs as being the most difficult to lose. I gained back 4 lbs over the 3 month holiday period and need to reverse this. So the best advice I found is that Iโ€™m probably having larger portions than I realize. And, although I do exercise I might want to bump it up by a day with weight training.

    Will go back to weighing carbs/proteins for a while to get a handle on real calories. Donโ€™t think Iโ€™m way off but it canโ€™t hurt!

    Feb 11 203 went to my happy place (Disney) over the weekend so Iโ€™m glad not a hike with the salty foods at Epcot. Did notice with all the walking that my lungs are definitely not at full capacity. :(
    Feb 14 203 guess just glad not gaining. Still havenโ€™t tried working out. Just getting my step goal in at work. Did take a walk around the neighborhood the other day. 80s are ending for now and it will be in the 60s this upcoming week.
    Feb 21 206. Ugh going the wrong way. Yesterday I had a massive migraine. So with all the cokes, ibuprofen and Wendyโ€™s for supper Iโ€™m super bloated. But the headache is gone today. I am going to Zumba this morning (took the day off of work for payroll) so and walking around the zoo tomorrow so hopefully the bloating will ease up some.

    I did some weights Wed & Thur. Will be able to get back to spin class Sunday morning finally. I made a really nice low carb chicken chili for dinner last night, leftovers for lunch today :)

    Happy Friday everyone- glad to see this number.Been pretty disciplined in the food department with tracking.
    This week has actually gone by very fast.

    Yesterday my workout was not what I hoped. I ran out of gas because I was already still very body sore from the two days before.Had to cut it short. Today will be more of a rest day .

    We are finally going to start warming up around here but things will be messy with all the snow melting. We are going to be in the 40's (F) soon.. which will feel like spring to me!
    I think I will go get birdseed this weekend and pull out my feeders (ofcourse I will have to keep an eye with bears coming out of hibernation )

    At the end of each month I take a screenshot of this list of weights and store it in a folder. And when Iโ€™m not feeling motivated I go back and look at the July or August screenshot and think about how excited I was at the progress at the time, and I was 10 lbs heavier then!

    @HappyDonkey75 yeah unfortunately for me with the HRT I gained 3 or 4 lbs right away and it lasted 3 months. There was nothing I could do. But then the 3 month mark hit and whoosh the hormonal water weight fell right off. Hopefully itโ€™ll be faster for you. If I can give you some encouragement, be patient and focus on being strong and fit in the meantime. It will settle!

  • Hello all! Sorry I've been MIA! I have had a hard time staying motivated, but I think I've found the solution!! I got & have been wearing a fitbit for 4 days now & I love it! Super motivating!! It has been tracking my physical activity, sleep & recently I've started using the fitbit app to log my food. I've been on here less due to that, but I plan on using MFP to weigh-in at least weekly/bi-weekly.

    SW - Jan 2025: 219 lb
    Summer (June/July) GW: 180 lb
    Overall GW: 150 lb

    I changed my breakfast go to and concentrating on more fruit and vegetables and swapping healthy snacks for processed ones.

    @brittgreenlikethecolor88 congrats on your Fitbit! I have an Apple Watch but all trackers can be motivating. Your also pairs with the MFP app which is a big bonus.
