Happy National Nutrition Month, at least in the Estados Unidos.
@enlightenme3 is still traveling, so I'm posting this month's challenge again.
๐ Welcome all new first timers to this challenge and "Hello again" to those returning for another month, another year, another round. ๐
I joined MFP in February 2018. I had been trying on and off to lose some extra weight. MFP gave me the tools I needed to lose 30 pounds, and I have tried to keep it off since then. I've mostly been successful, but there for sure have been times when I slid back. Only continued vigilance will work to be successful, and fortunately that's possible! It can be nice to have short- and medium-term goal to break down a larger goal into more manageable chunks. So a monthly challenge with a weekly check-in is GREAT. I've been contributing to this challenge for several years, and with @enlightenme3 temporarily away, I'll try to keep it running.
Pick your own goal, check in once per week, and at the very end of the month. Let's keep encouraging each other & staying focused on our individual goals.
You can change the dates to suit you, but try to keep it weekly as it shows off the weekly progress better๐. I'm setting this month up for Saturday check-in. Do what works best for YOU.
Pick whatever unit suits you -- pounds, kilograms, stones, or even Newtons.
Feel free to copy & paste the chart:

For those unsure how to do your weekly weight input:
When you want to do your weekly update do a search for your original post, copy and paste as a new post in the add post box then you can edit in your new weekly weight. A lot of people also maintain their post in a notes application on their device and just cut and paste into a new post.
Itโs not a race go at your on pace, imagine where you could be in 6 months time!๐
Best of luck to everyone - have fun! ๐๐

Hi everyone!
I lost 4lbs in February. The weekly weigh-in is helping my motivation. I started tracking properly and upped my daily steps after failing to lose anything in the first couple of weeks of February.
So - I started Feb at 152lbs and am starting March at 147.6lbs. I feel like I have now lost the temporary weight gain that usually happens over Christmas and now the loss will slow down considerably. I'm going to try to be patient if I only lose 0.5lb per week, especially since I have some meals out planned. Wish me luck!

Weight in blue makes me blue because itโs a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because itโs a loss. Weight in black means no change.
03/01-196.4-(Trend Weight: 196.4)- My power was out until 8:00 am this morning so there was no sleep because I had no C-Pap machine. I tried but to no avail. Finally slept from 8:00 am until 11:00 am and Iโm not in very good shape for the funeral this afternoon. My oldest DD will be attending with me. It is frigid cold but sunny, bright and beautiful otherwise. My friend Diane would have loved seeing the birds happily flitting around in play this morning. This was a tough round. Coming down on the scale 1.4 lbs overnight helped but I need to get on a losing streak now. I hope to make March a banner month. Please keep my friend Diane and her family in your thoughts and prayers today.

03/03-195.4-(Trend Weight: 196.5)- Day 2 of no heat in my house. In Northern Michigan thatโs dangerous! When power went out Friday night and came back on Saturday morning I didnโt realize it had done something to my furnace. Auto ignition of pilot just wonโt work. It comes on but then goes right back off and nothing but very cold air blowing out of ducts. I had to shut it off at the fuse box and turn the gas off to make sure it would not build up gas so it would quit trying to run and warm it up in here. My thermostat has no โoffโ and the house is colder than the lowest selection so it just kept running. Because I was at the funeral service and dinner until after dark last night, I didnโt realize my house wasnโt getting any heat. Last night was night two of freezing to death. These little ceramic space heaters are only spot heaters so they are not warming up a room, but at least I can stand within 2 feet of them and feel some relief for myself and the cat. They are very tiny but I have 2 of them. Not much help in a 3200+ sq foot house! Of course itโs Sunday and Iโm in a very rural area where nothing would ever be open on Sundayโs except the churches. No big box stores here anyway! So Iโve got my 30 year old nephew coming over whoโs pretty handy. He has changed out thermo couplers and such in the past. He works as a handyman in the area, but mostly ships off to Oregon to work. Thankfully heโs home right now and will come look at it this morning. I hope he can fix it. He thinks that when the power came back on it may have pushed through some sediment that has to be cleaned. We will not be able to get any parts until tomorrow if we need something new. Fingers crossed for me please. Thank you all for the kind words about my friend Diane. She was beautiful yesterday.

Hello everyone!
I have been on MFP in the past, but struggle to keep at it.
For some reason I find it frustrating to use compared to other services that I used in the past (SparkPeople) which I had dialed in! Sigh ANYWAY. I need somewhere to help keep me accountable so thought I would give this place another go.
I turned 60 this year & have really noticed how my lack of regular exercise and frequent snacking has changed my body and mindset. Not sure if hormones have an effect or not, but I also have been having more aches, very little energy and a bad attitude these past couple of years. I have been debating trying HRT, but hear differing information about it so have been avoiding that. Not a big fan of medications. Hoping I can improve things more naturally before trying that route.
The plan I have started includes no eating after 8pm. Eating mostly whole foods. No meat/dairy/oils most days. I do have grilled fish tacos once a week and the occasional egg or two. Other than that it is a ton of veggies, organic tofu, beans, whole grains, fruit and nuts. The past few months I have started making my own breads... I fear that may be part of my inability to lose weight. Daily toast is going to be put on hold for a bit so I can see if it is a problem for me.
The only exercise I have been able to commit to has been walks/hikes a couple days a week. It has just fit into my schedule very easily. Hoping it helps get my energy up to take on some additional movement. In the past I enjoyed rowing, long hikes, yoga, cycling & kettlebells. Now I make a face when I think of them, LOL! What is wrong with me?! UG
My goal is to get my stamina back, lose my big-ole muffin top, feel better & therefore improve my attitude!

Weighted myself again today (March 3rd) and the scales say I am 149.4 lbs, which is what I weighed on Mon 24th Feb. I'm ok with it - I knew that the March 1st wasn't a true reflection of my weight so I wondered if I would fluctuate!
Continuing to follow 16:8 IF, 10k steps per day and tracking food. Will weigh myself again on March 10th. Hopefully I will see a return to 147lbs and stay there.3 -

Found this challenge a few days late but thankfully have my weight recorded daily so I know what Saturday was! I used to be decently in shape and strong (I ran a horse barn and never stopped moving or doing projects) but suddenly developed an "anxiety and panic" disorder two years ago and gained 50 pounds (along with some injuries to complicate exercise further). Finally getting a handle on life again and able to focus on eating better! A new desk job is making it extra easy to put on weight so introducing short after-work-walks until I get used to moving a bit more! Slow and steady and happy to be here.

I believe this challenge will provide me with that, setting goals with others who are also creating a healthier lifestyle for themselves.
