I need help and motivation

hi all , I’m 62 and have lost my get up and go !.
I love yoga and walking my dogs but can’t seem to get inspired.
I’m overweight by a good 6 kg , my clothes don’t fit and I’m uncomfortable.

Start by walking 250 steps every hour. It takes only a couple of minutes, and perhaps that will get you moving more.

You don't have to be inspired or motivated if you decide you are just going to do it. I'm not radiating enthusiasm when I am going through my stretching routine but I will do it because I am also tired of being overweight and uncomfortable. We can be unmotivated still-doers together!

Inspiration is optional, committing to a process isn't. It's not essential to increase exercise to lose weight, if increasing exercise seems like a bridge too fat. It can be accomplished entirely on the food/eating side of the equation.
If you don't feel motivated to log food or calorie count - things that were extremely effective for me at age 59-60, I have to admit - there are other methods.
For example, you could think about your routine food patterns. Most of us have certain meals and snacks on repeat. Think about how you could reduce the portion sizes of some foods without creating misery for yourself, and do that. Reduce the frequency of fried foods or sweets, maybe. It's not as predictable as calorie counting the foods, but it can work. My own father lost weight that way years back.
The bottom line, though, is that if we don't change something, nothing in our weight or fitness is going to change, either . . . at least not in a good way. Not changing is a decision; we're responsible for our decisions, and their consequences.
