I'm just curious. Do most of you go by the recommended settings of one pound loss a week?
That's what I'm doing.

I'm aiming to lose 1.5 pounds per week in the beginning. Once I've lost my first 20 or so, I will be expecting a 1 pound loss.
  • I'm also at 1.5/week

I started at 2lb per week, but I was also exercising and earning back tons of calories so it wasn't hard. BUT I've recently to downgraded to 1.5/wk due to inability to exercise properly. I get light workouts in during the day but nothing like what I was doing.

I'm actually at less than 1 lb a week with a deficit of 400cals per day. however, when I started out I was set to lose 2lbs/wk. How much you should aim to lose each week depends on how much your current BMI.

I started with 20 pounds to lose. I didn't set it for 1 pound per week because I didn't want to only eat 1200 calories. Now at 1/2 pound I get to eat almost 1400.

i'm set for 1 pound per week b/c i needed those extra calories. my original plan gave me 1200 cals and i was just too hungry.
    now i get 1430 w/o exercise and it's much more do-able.

also, i only had a total of 18 lbs to lose, so i still expect it to be sloooowww going. getting back into the habits of good eating and moving is motivating in and of itself. i know the weight will come off.
  • I appreciate the feedback. It gives me some insight as to what others are doing and basically what's working. I'm just not getting anywhere and I keep changing my methods.
I'm hoping ...soon! I think I'm going to have to go with fewer calories, or...stop logging my workouts because when I exercise it says I can have 1700 calories and that just ...seems like too much. I cannot wrap my brain around 1700 calories for me. Even with the workout. Plus I'm not losing anything, only sustaining and that's not my goal.
