How to delete an item from "Your Personal Foods"

I'm trying to delete an item from "Your Personal Foods"

It says "To view, edit, or delete a personal food, click on that food below", however when I click on the item, I can edit it but not delete it. What am I missing?

I find MFP to be very frustrating. The web version is very difficult to work with. I need to eat chocolate just to manage my stress!

To answer my question about deleting with an item from "Your Personal Foods" if found this under the Help section:

    https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032271872-How-do-I-edit-or-delete-a-food-I-created-in-My-Foods-

On the Web. Click on the "Food" tab, then click "My Foods." Search for the food you'd like to edit or delete, then click on that item in the search results. Finally, click on the "Edit" or "Delete" button to make modifications to your food.

BUT... there is no "Delete" button !

I checked my foods and I see a delete button, but not for all the foods, only some of them. I'm not sure why though.
Have you tried the app? I rarely use the website, I don't find it very practical.

I found it (the delete button) on the Android version, but not on the web version of Myfitnesspal.
After I edited the food item, now I have two items: one with old wrong serving grams (I put 1 gram instead of 100 grams) without the delete button, and one with good edited data (100 grams) with a delete button.
I send a report to support.

If you don't have this page in the web version, with the delete option, then sending a report to support is the correct action. I'm just sharing this in case the problem is navigation. I circled the tabs I clicked, then I clicked on one of the foods in the list to get this page.

ETA: Most of my foods there do have a delete button. A few don't. I have a vague feeling that the ones that don't have a delete button may have been added to My Foods when I added the food as a correction to a pre-existing food, but I'm far from sure.

I was adding to "My Foods" and accidently hit "Enter" before finishing it and spell checking it. Somehow it got saved as "public" with spelling errors and incorrect data. Now I cannot edit and correct my mistakes or remove/delete it from "My Foods" because it is "public". I believe any created food in My Foods cannot be corrected/edited or removed/deleted if it was saved as "public". I suspect that is why a search for food has so much incorrect data. :) ...

There are a lot of reasons why there's incorrect data: Some of it was simply entered by people who didn't care about accuracy, or who only cared about calories so ignored the rest, or who confused salt with sodium, or who lived in different countries where the labeling laws are different or the product formulations are different, or who entered that food at some previous time when the product formulation was different thus the calories/nutrition label was different. I suspect most of the incorrect entries weren't accidents per se, though doubtless a few were.

I finally found a way to delete a food that I added from the database. This is based on my experience using Android app. In the menu, go to "Recipes, Meals & Foods", then Foods. As some have already mentioned, you can easily delete food that you created on your own, but if you added a food from the database, the only way to remove it (for whatever reason) is to tap on the 3 dots at the top right corner, tap "Edit" and then on the food you want to delete. Now, amend the "Brand" name to any other name, then tap "Save". Now, the newly named food will be at the top of the list. Tap on the check box beside it and the delete icon will appear on the top right corner. Viola, now you can delete it.

I use Firefox (web) and I have the same problems on and off as @ samgettingfit25.

Honestly, MFP is making me very upset because of the time involved finding and logging new items, besides changing the ones that carry the wrong or incomplete information.

My Food list is getting too long, and I can't delete all the items that are incorrect or that I don't eat anymore. MFP seems to be changing things that are not needed while neglecting to improve important features.

In the Android app I can't select a food to delete, since there is no box for individual fonds. Just above says check all. So I deleten all, since I made mistakes with portions.

I weigh all my food ingrediënts and I would like to see the weight in the log, not just the calories.

And I find it a nuisance that in the Android app the screen keeps flipping with different pages. My device is in a holder so it is not easy. Thats why I went to the website (in Chrome). But I would prefer if the app was as userfriendly.

I may be misunderstanding you, so if this is wrong, I apologize.

I use the Android app. I'm not sure whether you're talking about deleting individual entries in "My Foods" or from the recent/frequent list that comes up first when we go to search for items to add to our diary.

For me, in the Android app: Individual items in the recent/frequent foods can be deleted by long-pressing them, which will bring up a delete box for just that item.

Items in My Foods can be deleted by going into the Recipes, Meals and Foods option in the More menu, clicking the Foods tab, then the 3-dots graphic in the upper right, then Edit. Check boxes appear to the right hand side of each food in the list. Check the box next to the item or items to delete, then click the trash can icon in the upper right.

The pages flipping from landscape to portrait, if that's what you're talking about, is a function of my phone/table settings. If my device is set to auto-rotate, the display will flip from portrait to landscape on some pages when I re-orient the phone in my hand or holder. (My tablet, but not my phone is twitchy about that, and sometimes thinks it's been reoriented when I think it hasn't. My phone behaves in a more stable way for me.)

If my device has auto-rotate turned off, the display will stay landscape or portrait no matter how I orient the device.

Also, when I weigh my food in grams, both the grams and the calories show up in my diary. I have premium MFP, but I think that was true even when I used free MFP. It looks like this, noting of course that some of my entries don't have weights because I didn't enter them that way:

Maybe all that's not what you're talking about, but I admit to a bit of reading comprehension issue in interpreting what you're saying. If I've missed the mark trying to help, please accept my apologies.
