Craving More Calories

I don't know if its because I quit smoking or because my calorie goal has dropped or if after 60 lbs my body is totally rebelling. Either way, I am craving higher calorie foods. Now that my goal has been lowered I've been eating back most of my exercise calories so I don't want to hear that I should go ahead and eat more. I'm not hungry so I am getting plenty during the day. I just want more. Any suggestions on how to curb cravings?

When I crave something I eat it other wise I will continue to crave it. Also if you are having a sweet attack, I find that eating a few pieces of dark chocolate helps.0

this is a mental stumbling block. this is the time where, if you previously prepared a list of the things you hate about being overweight, you read it. if you haven't prepared that list, do so now...add it to your profile for easy access and accountability. this is the time you look at those "before" pictures. this is the time to remind yourself what you hated about those extra 60 pounds you had packed onto your frame. you have to get pissed off at yourself again. get that mindset strong again. kick the complacency creep in the butt.
you can do this. you've done great so far. just need a mental recharge.0 -
If it's just munchies and you're not craving something in particular I'd try doing something else (like go for a quick walk, play with the kids) what ever might take your mind off it for awhile. I read some where that cravings usually last only 20 minutes so if you can get your mind off it for 20 minutes you might stop craving it. Also try drinking some water and getting your mind off it. You get the sensation of having something. If you're craving something in particular I'd go for it just in a small amount. I find that if I'm craving something in particular and I deny myself when I finally cave in I go nuts, instead of having just the bite of chocolate that I would have had if I'd just caved when I first craved it I'll eat the entire bar.
Good luck with the cravings0 -

I 100% agree that it is a mental issue. When you get the cravings, figure out a way to distract yourself. If you absolutely cannot ignore the cravings, then give in.. A LITTLE. Keep in mind how far you have come and how much a cupcake (for example) is not worth gaining the weight back.0
