To clarify, by "less than chips" do you mean a snack with fewer calories than a portion of chips?

hey I do a serving of yogurt and fruit for my snacks. Like a banana and strawberry yogurt. Depending on my nutrient goals, (working on bulking currently) I would see what I ate for breakfast and if the protein was 20g or less, I would use a protein based yogurt that has about 20g in it. I hope this helps!

Roasted chickpeas. Roasted pepitas. Dried edamame. Air popped popcorn. Dehydrated veggie “chips”. Dehydrated fruit “chips”. Kale chips. Just some ideas, sounded like you were wanting something crunchy and/or salty..

When it comes to snacks, I usually go for things that are either low in calories, make some useful contribution to my nutrition goals, or are high in joy factor without being calorie-crazy. YMMV.

I eat some of the things mentioned above, plus hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks or other more calorie-efficient cheeses (sometimes some non-calorie-efficient ones in small portions, too, TBH), fresh or dried fruits, individually wrapped small chocolates, Yasso Greek yogurt bars (or similar lower-calorie frozen treat thingies), frozen berries with plain nonfat Greek yogurt and some chocolate peanut butter powder, pickles (not just cucumber pickles, but other veggies, fruits, eggs, mushrooms, etc.), cottage cheese, small amounts of nuts (especially pistachios in shells because they take time to eat).

I don't eat meat jerky (because vegetarian), but that could be an option for others.

I have a chocolate bar every day. That's my snack. Depending on where you are there might be some options around 100-110kcal per bar. Waferbars with caramel are quite substantial and tasty. Another option might be chocolate mousse: lots of air, but also lots of taste and fairly low calories. higher fat yogurt with fresh fruit. Or if you can get hold of it: Dutch vla (bit like custard) with a few grams of brownie crumbled in.

Afterthought: Jello or similar gelatin things seem to be a popular choice among non-vegetarians, too; or low-calorie pudding (some of which are non-vegetarian, too).

Hard boiled eggs do it for me.

I like sesame rice crackers with individual serving(s) of hummus. Peaches on cottage cheese. Popcorn with some sort of seasoning (I currently use Salata vinegar dressing from a german brand Kuhne). So tasty.

Popcorn is a whole grain. Fewer calories if you air pop it. I use eleven grams of sunflower oil which adds some calories. So does the nutritional yeast I sprinkle on top.

"More than" raw veggies could be as simple as raw veggies and hummus.

Medjool dates are great, hit that sweet craving but have a lot of health benefits. One for a small snack, two for a more substantial snack and 3 if you have calories to spare

Even though they still have plenty of calories, it's counter intuitive but dates have a low glycemic index.
