Flea - sounds like you are having a great time - your lunch looked delicious. Yes, it looks like pickled seaweed with sesame seeds. Watching them throw fish around is always a draw — brings back memories, the little seafood distributor I used to work for sold fish off the boat to this business. Did your legs get a workout climbing those hills? When are you guys heading back - tomorrow?
OK, I see many of us commented on the noise level the cell phones create in public places. That was my hunch too. I seem to catch myself shouting into my phone a lot when I talk on it here at home because the reception is often so bad. I don't think I've ever talked in public on it. If I had to call 911? You bet I'd use it.
Barbie - yes, with the new legislation allowing folks to get on SS who normally didn't, that can be bogging down the system. When my DH died, the funeral home told me to just call SS and everything would be handled over the phone! I did and it was super easy - that was nearly three years ago. I think they might have already had notification of his death. The lady explained that I'd get a small stipend for being the widow of a veteran which the funeral home had already explained, and that his payment for the upcoming month would be taken back since he passed on May 29th, which made sense. Their system had already processed the upcoming payment. No need to provide any documentation back then.
I believe these days they are also requiring in person visits in some cases to cut down on fraud.
Carol - so happy to hear the laser procedure is helping already. Hooray for modern medical technology!
Michele - sorry to hear of your deck problems. House repair and maintenance seems to never end.
Lisa - love your sweater. Seems like it went together quickly, you are giving me ideas.
Think of Vicki, Annie and Rosemarie!
Heather - gorgeous bracelet.
Rori - in a way, it's good that you had that "spell" and now will be put through testing that might discover something hiding that can be remedied early. Upping the water intake and eliminating antihistamines sounds like a good plan. Yes, we ladies are giving the heart monitor providers a lot of business these days. 😁
Ginny - I knew you'd "ace" the stress test. Good to have that out of the way before your upcoming surgery. Thank you for your comments on the steroid shots. I heard more from Dr. Lisa yesterday about the shot she gives - it doesn't involve any joint or spine injection, she said she just shoots in a little numbing medicine first then targets the painful muscle where the pain generates. It doesn't last forever but bides some time while therapy does its job.
I can tell the PT exercises are helping and look forward to doing them because of the relief.
The weather was so nice yesterday I actually got the tomato seeds planted and they are happy under the plastic dome on the heat mat. All container cherry types this year. Too wet to mow or even do much weed eating.
Weather today? Weather Underground isn't even giving an "advisory" and are just saying chance of severe thunderstorms, and they are usually pretty accurate. I see FB and the weather stations are really going to town on this.
Air is still and it's foggy right now.

had a post and lost it(didn't wait long enough when I hit post reply)
Son's birthday is today. 27yrs old. We will take him and his girlfriend to lunch in a few hours. They are continuing to get what was the garage at MIL's house set up the way he wants- took his computer, books, dvds, games over yesterday. Hasn't done anything upstairs at all.
They were there last night so they took care of the dog for me. Nice change but didn't get my 10K- just 6 yesterday.
I will make up for it today with two walks with him plus zumba. I have been averaging 14K most days so one below 10 here and there is ok.Need to go take care of Kobe-
Will catch up here later.Jona at 3 1/2 months old- he had a TON of hair(still does-it is now to the middle of his back again-donated it two years ago when it was that long). First hair cut was at 6 months old. I had so many people look at him and say "She's so cute"- NOPE, HIS name is Jonathan. Took 3 inches off the back at his first hair cut.

Mo- I have been sewing for well over 50 yrs- started when I was in 4th grade. Even sewed my prom dress and my second wedding dress.
My suggestion to you is go to the thrift store and get some sheets(or if you have extras at home you don't need) as your fabric. That is the cheapest way to get fabric plus you get a LOT and wide pieces.
Pick up a very simple pattern- take your time and just follow the instructions. The pictures really help me. Reading the directions can be a bit confusing at times but together with the pictures you can figure it out. Don't get discouraged.
I never thought about using the sheets before covid and I was making tons of masks and couldn't get fabric or couldn't see paying the price of fabric so decided to try the sheets. Super soft(that is a MUST in anything I make)
I even made my long skirt that I wore to my dad's celebration of life-Debbie

My weight pops up every Monday, as well, more salt as Corey tends to cook all the meals, plus I do tend to move a lot more on weekends to keep up with him. I'm teaching him (finally) to relax on weekends, but it's all according to the weather.
Lisa
… It's actually nice when we've seen the pattern and we know what to expect. It's nothing to panic about … just something that happens and it will go down toward the end of the week.Machka - exactly - which is why my own weigh-in is on Monday, because I pay attention to what I'm eating. I always want to be lighter by Friday so I have a little room for the weekend.
Ginny - Glad you're going into the surgery in good shape!
Steroid shots - The most recent one in my shoulder did not hurt at all, never felt the shot, honestly, but it also only helped for about a week, and then right back to where it was, painwise. The shot they gave me in my left shoulder when I fractured my collar bone 30 years ago hurt like stink, but only for moments, and it stopped the pain of moving my whole left side. The pain never came back - the steroid gave that fracture time to heal. Everything has its place and time. Like Machka, I don't dismiss anything, but I research EVERYthing.
Thank you Barbie, Carol, Lanette, Heather, and everyone on the cardigan comments. Not my usual style at all, but am quite pleased with it. And Lanette, like you, it's giving me ideas… 😅🐈⬛😂 Like I need even more! 🤷🏻♀️
Got everything done from this morning, colored my hair, got my workroom cleaned and reset to start again, got a shower, got the video done, uploaded and scheduled at midnight. Also got Corey's meatloaf made for dinner. I'll put that in around 3 p.m. or 3:30. Not my bag, so I'll have something else, probably the little marketplace flatbread pizza I picked up Sunday and wasn't up to eating.
But first… a nap. Then time on the elliptical when I get up. Hate to miss that gorgeous day outside, but right this minute, I am worn OUT.
Love y'all,

Heather-You and I seem to have a lot in common. I also do my prep early so I have to actually cook for least amount of time possible at dinner.
I also get really annoyed having to listen to other people's loud phone conversations. I agree that it's likely a volume problem. People shout into the phone and I often hear "What? You're breaking up" over and over and over. I feel as if those people talking loudly want everyone else to hear it as if they are the most important person in the area.
I don't even like my significant other listening to my phone conversations, so I definitely don't want strangers to listen.
Quoting: I don't like that I can no longer delete out of the quote was does not apply to my reply.
I think Social Security is a huge mess right now and am happy I am not having to deal with it.
Ants-They seem to have departed or at least took their drunken brawl out of the house or they are sleeping it off. I'm happy with that for now. They aren't on my counters!

I now have a nice, very shiny, wedding ring, with all its diamond chips in place. :-)
We popped into M&S and I couldn't resist a linen mix pair of wide pants. Black. I have a similar pair in navy. Dinner was its usual excellent self. Hake in a caper sauce.
The French Circle was OK, and interesting, but I never like it as much when the speaker has an English accent. However, it was great to have a date night! It really is good for us.
I've got my train tickets on my phone app for tomorrow. Haven't decided what to wear. Weather can be a bit deceptive. Looks sunny, but can be chilly.
Hove in bloom at the moment!
Lovely!

Not much today. I did talk tothe store mgr about a raise. She seemed open to it. But I did getthe feeling that it wouldn’t be much of a raise. Bowling tonight
Carol – so glad the eye procedure went well
It bothers me when people are talking on the phone in public. I always think they’re talking to me
My neighbor is going to have a garage sale this weekend so I loaned her our two 6’ tables, our 5’ one, and out cardtable
Heather– nice bracelet
since I don’t work tomorrow the plan is to do a body pump DVD. Need to be home by 10 since Vince wants to take one of the cats to the vet. He doesn’t seem to eat a lot, but is overweight. Vince is worried that there’s something else(hypothyroidism?)
Debbie – happy birthday to your son
Flea– stay safeThe other gal on my team (team of 2) said this would be her last week, so I'm going to be a sub since when we're playing the vacancy, I'll be the only one bowling. I don't have a problem with that
Jess said she was going to be here this Friday so I'll make a casserole for her (not sure if Colby will be here, they will have to take home the leftovers since Vince won't eat it). I'd like to make a cake for Colby's birthday next Tues

I was 20 minutes from Deception Pass Bridge!🙃. It is supposed to be windy with stormy weather tonight. I head to Mt Vernon tomorrow. Amtrak says there's train issues from Seattle so thinking I might be busing it all the way to Oregon. Long, long day.

Hi Everyone;
Lisa, I love your colorful cardigan; pockets are a must.
Flea, Deception pass is beautiful, but I would hate to drive it. I have a fear of heights.
Debbie, I love the picture of you and your son.
Pip, Way to go!
Heather, the flowers are lovely, and I also love the bracelet.
Rebecca, I wish you safe travels.
Lanette, can you post a picture of Rosie?
Carol, I am so glad your procedure went well.
Machka, I am so happy John's healing is progressing.
Rori, I am glad everything is working out, but take care of yourself.
Allie, it is okay to nap. Your body needs it. You and Siri can have a snuggle fest.
I finally got up and dressed to run errands; of course, Rose went with me. I visited my mom and paid for her stay at the Madison Home Place. The nurse gave me an update and had me sign the agreed care plan. I went to Walgreens to get my meds and took Rose to the doggy place to get her treats. Now Rose is snoring. I enjoyed books and tea today. My right leg and hip continue to hurt and get stiff. So, I put a heating pad on the spot. I have been rubbing it down with linament. Maybe I should walk until it is better.

Good Monday.
Thank You all! I did take a 2 hour "nap" after dinner on the couch. I should have just gone to bed, but I was watching Hawaii 50 and then it was 730.....amazingly slept great until about 2am. Everytime I would get to light sleep after that I would think about work. Tried redirecting mind with butterflies, grateful statements, kittens, breathing, would circle again, eventually dozen back to sleep, then repeat. I should have done some work this weekend....oh well.
So it is now Thursday Morning…..It has been a rough week with weird events. On Monday evening while putting away groceries, I apparently hit the knob on my stove and turned on the gas. Caught it early but opened the front door to air out. Realized Tuesday morning that I forgot to close said front door. It was partially closed, but I am sure my furnace ran lots. Tuesday I took DH to urgent care for a swollen finger. He says extremely painful. They think maybe a spider bite, but him on antibiotics. I did paperwork in the evening. Tried ordering some stuffs I needed but couldn't stay focused. Migraine since Monday. Yesterday, I managed to make a few phone calls that were necessary. Then to just add insult to injury, I dropped the heart monitor phone into the toilet!!!!! Luckily it hadn't been used yet! So I called back the heart monitor people to inform them that the phone was currently in rice so would be off line for 2 days. Their technical dept is not very technical. He asked me if the phone turned on? I told him I didn't think it was a good idea to turn on a wet device which is why I immediately removed the battery, but if he wanted me to turn it on I could. I just figured a rice bed was a better idea…his response….oh yeah, probably. There is a reason I don't carry things in my pockets! Granddaughter didn't show up at work yesterday. No response to text. Called her last night, she said she was having some personal issues and didn't want to bring her attitude to work. I told her notification would have been nice. I am a little miffed at her manners in this situation. Did finally get some things ordered that I needed and DH needed last night. Home generator time is off, I can't seem to get it fixed, so will just change the exercise time to accommodate the wrong time on system. Need to do that this morning. Oh…..this woman's aim with a rifle is still excellent! Haven't shot in 15 years, but hit what I was aiming at. (no it wasn't my DH or his sister). That was a happy moment last night! We really need to go to the range. I really enjoyed shooting before. So I need to find an adult ballet class and a concealed carry course in the nearer future.
Flea- It is wonderful that you are having a great trip! Thank you for taking us along!
I know there was more but really can't think, so….
Congratulations for the great choices you are making each day!
Healing thoughts for you and your families!
Hugs and peace for each of you in this crazy life journey!
Lots of love,
Kylia in Ohio

Mo: I hope your right leg gets better. Hope you enjoy the books and tea!
GrandMallie: Congrats on the weight loss! Glad all is well with Alfie!
Carol: Glad the eye procedure went well! Yes, I have some nice memories of High Falls!
Barbie: I think Social Security is overwhelmed right now. Is there an office in another county you can call and see if they are less busy. I have called other social security offices. In fact we don't even have a social security office in my county. My dog chewed my dental appliance for sleep apnea. But I had not had a sleep study in 15 years so it worked out for the best. And I do have moderate sleep apnea..enough to scare me. I really need this device!
Terri: Creative writing and painters groups sound wonderful to me! I am sure there are some great people there. I am going to try a new writing group the second week of April! Looking forward to this!
Rori: I hope you get answers quickly!
Mary: A weight watchers fitness counsellor told me I was bored with walking! I am in my mid 60s. He said there was plenty of time to walk and suggested I do something else. I have been doing cycling and zumba! To me both are like listening to a sound track for 45 minutes and I am with others! I tried Pilates but this was expensive and not aerobic enough for me! I really am motivated by decluttering videos! Especially Cas from Clutterbug! She is younger than me so not everything applies but I find her motivating. My life would have been so much better if I had gotten into decluttering years ago. Wasn't easy with my husband though! He did not want to throw out much!
Rebecca: Friendships do change. But I always value that I shared a friendship with someone. I asked for distance in 1 friendship a year ago. She sent me a nice card. It was the right decision. And this past week I shared with another friend that I could not share meals as frequently. I had other areas I wanted to explore. She understood. We will still meet up but the expense of the meals was limiting other explorations for me. Nice gift of edibles for your eldest son!
Lisa: Love the sweater!
Flea: Hope your son has a great time! And great weather! Can go either way this time of year!
Debbie: Nice pictures!
My son and DIL wanted to try some pottery. But one studio seems to be closed, another has memberships and they are full, another just does hand building, and still another wants 150.00 for 2 for 2 hours for a Date Night. This does not seem to include a meal. Wow! I will try again in a couple of months. I would like to see them use the potter's wheel!
I am actually after 12 to 13 years of paying to have the lawn cut, looking at lawn mowers!! I did cut the lawn before we started paying for this service! I have stumps and some debris under trees and am not sure a stand up lawn mower can handle this area. Previously it had not had grass. But I do not want to fiddle with gas so am looking at an electric lawn mower. I need it to be able to mulch. I have a hill so do not want a sit down lawn mower. Maybe I could purchase a sit down lawn mower and do the hill with a hand lawn mower. I would have to pay for it on time. The walking part of mowing the lawn has never bothered me. Think I could do this until my middle 70s..about 10 years! I would save thousands over 10 years. Someone I know has had a sit down Honda for 40 years. But I know there are other brands now.
My soil sample came back. My ph is 6.1 and the sample discusses fertilizing monthly. I hope to call the extension service later this morning to get more advice on how to proceed. I have already purchased the grass seed he recommended. I was wondering if I could push the speader. Really why do I need a spreader, can't i just wear gloves and toss fertilizer around. I don't think my Dad had a spreader???
I booked a flight to go see my mother in May. I told her I was not renting a car or staying at a hotel. This overwhelmed her at first..I am only staying 3 nights…and I want to stay with her before she goes into assisted living. Actually her reaction was pretty hurtful. But I pushed through and made the flight reservation. I have no desire to drive in MA. Well, she won't be thinking so much about the assisted living! Now she can be anxious that her daughter is coming!
The carpenter is finally here to work on the stair project. Remember I canceled some life insurance and it had enough cash value to cover taking the Acorn lyft down and carpet out and putting in hardwood. I was going to get the rug mats they sell but if it is not too slippery I will hold off on these and go see my mother instead.
Well, I have to figure out what to do today…because I have the dog and I have the carpenter here. He will be barking if I leave him in a room. Maybe we should jump in the car and go to High Falls. Speaking of High Falls!
Best,
Rosemarie from GA

😀 Rosemarie, I can't drive far for a variety of reasons so going to another county for Social Security won't work for me. Since they tell you that it will be more than a hundred and twenty minute wait on the phone, it is unlikely that Social Security is any less busy anywhere else. I am not desperate for the money, just want to finish the stuff I need to do..
😀 Deception Pass It's on the route I've traveled often in the past. One day when I was driving alone, I parked the car and went for a walk across the bridge and down one of the hiking trails. Awesome.
😀 Heather, Where I live is a similar latitude and climate to Hove so I am seeing signs of spring that look a lot like yours. Great photos. I don't tire of walking in my neighbourhood because of the daily changes in the growing things.
😀 Allie, Taking a nap is a good tool for recovery and it comes with no side effects. Recovering from you surgery should take top priority in your life right now.

Barbie, we did that. Hiked onto the bridge, and down the stairs to the other side. It gave us a lovely view of everything. Mo, I'm not particularly fond of heights, although I handled the space needle just fine, even the glass floor, and we are going up to the top of hubby's work building for lunch today, the tallest building in Seattle, but I admit, that just standing on that bridge and looking down at the water, my legs got weak and I felt some anxiety.
Rebecca, I wondered if that's about where you were when I saw the base. Such a beautiful place to live.
We got lucky with the ferry, drove right up to the booth as they were loading cars on, paid and drove right on. 20 or so minutes later, we were on the mainland.
Best thoughts to everyone.

Well Recd email from Amtrak that my train schedule has changed. Thinking I will be busing it all down to Oregon. Husband has been having issues getting into his email and they always need to send him a confirmation code which is to his Tracfone so I can't take that. So its my tablet to check in with sister periodically on changes etc. Son texted me last night that Eli was sick, so that trip is maybe cancelled too. Can't be visiting sick kids.😥💖. I will just have to hope for the best.🙃😁

Good Morning ladies;
Naps are an excellent chance to recharge. When I was a kid, I hated them, but now I love them. So, Allie, I agree with Barbie: nap while you can. Rose and I nap in the afternoon or the morning after breakfast. I didn't sleep well last night. I am feeling an aura, so I took meds to stop the migraine from coming. I may take some magnesium, too. Barbie, I am so proud of you for getting so much done. I never filed my dad's taxes after he died. Plus, my mother wanted to be in charge. Now, I need to gather all the tax records to file and taxes for my mom to catch up. They told me that a CPA would cost $600.00. I had to direct DS on how to do his taxes. Unfortunately, my coping mechanism for daunting tasks is to procrastinate. I had better close and get away from the computer lights. I will post later.

Rebecca - Hope it works out, and you're able to go when you want, where you want, and enjoy your time and family.
My Northwesterners - We did make a circuit around Washington state, all the way up to Neah Bay, when we lived in Coos Bay, OR, but never made it to Deception Pass. It's all absolutely beautiful country.
Rosemarie - I really like my walk-behind battery-operated mower, since I don't have to deal with a cord. It's self-propelled, which is great on some of the steeper places around my place. When I'm exhausted, I've been known to let it pull me up the hill back to the house! Takes a little getting used to, but it's great for those areas where it's too slanted to put a riding mower on it.
Heather - Loved the pictures of flowers from Hove. It seems like an absolutely wonderful place to live. I'm so glad you and Johnny moved there, and I know you are, too!
Betsy - I hope "going through some stuff" means that you're decluttering, and not going through something awful. I think about you often. Hope you and Ella and your sister are all well.
I've been good about staying away from sugar, and I may have told you at some point that I told Corey not to bring me cut flowers, as dying blooms just make me sad. (My opinion only, I don't judge those who love them!) He remembered. But, now that we live here and I can keep things alive, he's indulged me unmercifully, including a redbud tree and a mulberry tree in years past, among others.
Well, that lovely man brought me an azalea yesterday when he came home from work. Have I mentioned how much I love the fact that he works for a landscaping and lawn maintenace company?
Dimensions are hard to judge in this pic, but it's up to my chin, and I can barely span the width of it. It got left in the greenhouse after they over-ordered for one of the jobs, and he knows how much I love flowering bushes and trees.
I'll take a pic after we get it in the ground. I love spring! Am going to get out and get some bulbs in my back flowerbed and get the hummingbird feeder filled and hung, if I can find it. Those cranky little hummers are just going to love the azalea.
The redbuds are in bloom here too, with lovely pink clouds of small trees among the just-budding branches of all the woodlands near us. Corey's peach tree is just going crazy, too- this is just one branch that I snapped a picture of yesterday.
Lots of things to clean up and plant outside this morning, and it's nearly warm enough to get going on it!
Hope it's a really good day for everyone.
Love y'all!

Something about Amtrak having corrosion on the tracks, so it will be buses today, and most likely next Wednesday when I return home.
