Calorie and Macro discrepancy

I have noticed that there are days when I hit one of my macro categories but it looks like I don't have enough calories left to hit the other two. How does that happen?

    Several reasons:

    1. Rounding errors
    2. the database is mostly user sourced, and some people add really incorrect macros. Always check with an independent source, for fresh produce for example the USDA food database, or the food packaging if it has one.

Can you provide an example or two? What is your current goal, and how much of a deficit are you trying to obtain? What macro(s) are you lacking? Where are your calories coming from? Do you eat back your exercise calories? MFP will change your macro "goal" as your calorie needs go up from exercise. They are set to a percent of your calories. If you go over on one, there may not be room for the rest especially if you are running a large deficit.

You need all three, but you definitely want to get at least close to your protein goal, especially if you're on a loss phase. Get enough (but not too much) fat, and fill in the rest with carbs.

Some things, like ethanol, have calories but no macros.
