Heather, that's absolutely gorgeous! Love every petal… You should have that made into notebook covers or something. Very, very nice.
Allie - Been there - hope the kidney stone works its way out without too much pain for Tracy. Glad you could be there for her.
Tracey - OK, that's funny…
Corey is outside trying to reprogram his key for my car, making me wish car keys were still just metal sticks that work to open car doors and start engines. The battery went dead on it, and we've tried two different brands and still can't get it to work.
I'm staying well away - one of the few things that will frustrate him terribly is working on electronics that should have never been made electronic to begin with on a vehicle.
And I looked it up online, then walked out and asked him to open the key fob and flipped the battery over.
It worked.
Any other man would have been throwing stuff up against the wall.
Me, I got a kiss and "thanks, hon!" Not sure he's actually an American male of the species sometimes, but perhaps some hybrid… Very much a man, but like some other species mixed in. A polite one, without much of a temper, and it's never aimed at me.
I'm incredibly lucky, and terribly grateful.
He's gone off to shop for his fresh veggies for lunches for the week, and I'm going to chill. He's making chicken enchiladas for dinner. We had chorizo and scrambled eggs for brunch, and beef enchi-lasagna earlier in the week. We've both been craving Tex-Mex lately, I guess.
Got a dozen windows washed this morning. Only 30 more to go… but that was enough for today. My word for the year should have been stamina. Hardest thing to build back up, but I'm get there.
Later, my loves,

There are many blue heron and so many egrets-both kinds. Last week at super low tide, there were 25 in one small pond because it is usually full of water and that day it was almost dry. They were feasting.
Someone posted that there is a bald eagle there but I am still trying to see it. Because of the way the terrain is, there is one area that have a lot of song birds- robin, swallows, sparrows, phoebe, bluebirds, wild canary, finches, hummingbirds, etc on the side where the eucalyptus grove is and then near the river and the large inlet and large "lake" that changes with the tides, there are all the water birds. Love how it changes every time I am there.
No loons but there are many cormorant and coots.9 -
Ouch!! I have kidney stones. We discovered that I have kidney stones in 2009 when one got lodged and had to be surgically removed. I was in so much pain! Ever since then, they see kidney stones on the CAT scans I've had done (but not ultrasounds). Fortunately they've been smaller. I expect I pass some without knowing it, but there have been some I've noticed and even seen.
The key thing for me is to drink lots of water. Those kidney stones are a huge motivator!
I hope Tracy will be all right.

Machka: The more I see your photos, the higher Tasmania gets on my bucket list. Gorgeous view.
Debbie: I can see why you enjoy the wetlands. Looks so serene.
Heather: Ditto what Lisa said about your latest card. Hope you will reproduce it as a tea towel or something to have in regular view in the spring and summer months. I'd buy it.
Lisa: Have you ever thought of creating colorful cat breakaway collars and leashes? I want a jazzy one for Mars but having a tough time finding it.
Rita: I'm glad to hear you have a new MD who is responsive. So sorry to hear of your dizzy spell. May you find ultimate relief.
Vicki: Holding you in my prayers for a fresh start at a workplace where you can feel valued and productive.
I'm resting this weekend with easy chores like decluttering and redecorating. May tidy up the garage. I've ordered an iron supplement which should be here tomorrow. I'll do this until I get a chance to have a consult with a dietician as I'd really rather get my iron levels up with healthy food. Stay well friends. We can do this.

Lisa … how did you wrap the text in this message?
1 -
Lisa - I hope those wildfires stay far away.I had “gamers thumb” my doctor called it from scrolling too much on my phone. The pain actually occurred in my elbow from it. I just had to learn to set my phone down.
Lanette - We don’t have any leaves yet, it’s usually the third week of April before we start seeing some green. I did notice last week there were some little tiny buds starting on my bush outside. I don’t know what kind it is, but I always seem to the notice the little bumps long before the leaves start to come.
Carol - congratulations to your granddaughter.
Michele - sorry you’re not getting your visit with PJ.
Allie - what a time for you to have to be sitting in a hospital for hours. Hopefully, Tracy is feeling better.
Carla - I love the layout. We have a Sylvan Lake here in AB.
Heather - I hope the meds work very fast.
What a pretty painting.Lisa - I agree cars were much easier without all of the electronics. Rodger just lets me deal with the batteries, fobs and such. Really just about everything. SMH
I cleaned everything today except the craft/spare room. Rodger has to fix the bed tomorrow and then I’ll tidy it. I then have to sweep and scrub all the way through. My friend arrives on Wednesday.
I rearranged some decorations while I was doing it.Have a great night.

Hi All;
I am trying to get caught up - but, I only made it to the top of page 34 before my eyes started to droop. The remodel continues, apace… the new closet is framed and there is flooring down where once there was very old, very green, carpeting. I can see it all starting to come together in that room… once I am able to move in, there, they start in on the rest of the house!
I am looking forward to the whole place being done, because then my elder Sister can move in and we can be old ladies, together. Besides, I will be able to maybe get another cat - or perhaps just spoil my Sister's little dog.
It is month-end for me - the busiest time of the month - so I will be working all day, tomorrow to ensure that the 31st goes smoothly and everything is tidy - but, I spent a little time today clearing a bit more junk from the garage. I will have to store some things in there while the remodel is underway, so, the more I clear now, the more I will appreciate not having so much "stuff" in there, later. My Nephew (said elder Sister's Son) will be visiting this month to give me that extra motivation to keep clearing things out.
I find that the magic word "free" on my Next Door app tends to have things flying out the door - without having them go to the landfill - so we will be using that word somewhat frequently.
I did have a win in the Sugar Free baking category. I made some lovely Zucchini Bread with low carb flour and allulose and monk fruit sweeteners - it's quite delightful, toasted, with a little sweetened cream cheese on it. Total carbs - 11; protein 10 and net carbs is like 5, I think - but I tend to just count the gross carbs.
It's very tasty and even filling, due to the addition of protein powder and macadamia nuts.
*Regarding: Friends - I have never declined a friend request. I am a little leery when 11 out of 12 of them are from men - but, if they creep me out I just block them, later. Some folks just groove on having a ton of "friends" - so I don't turn them away. I used to get a lot of requests because people liked what I wrote - but being off for so long, I am sure y'all are right about them being mostly bots or scammers. I am always on the look out for any unusually attentive friends - and as, I say - creepers get blocked.
I will probably be a couple of days before I can get back - I have month-end on Monday and then a meeting with the Contractor on Tuesday….
I hope everyone has a fabulous few days!

I didn't take this photo- I found it on Facebook, entitled, 'Blossom season - Hove Park'. This is the park we walk through with Bea. Last week, they weren't quite out.
Sorry Tracey - in the deep snow! :-○

Machka, after I paste an image in, I size it down to small with the two-ended arrow, then I choose the alignment icon, at left of the same box and choose to either "float right" or "float left." That allows it to wrap. "Float center" blocks any kind of wrapping, no matter the size. The hard part is figuring out where it's anchored, which is wherever you've pasted it in. I've deleted the images countless times while only trying to delete the text!
Doesn't show, by the way, for anyone using a phone to read these, as it just keeps the image the same width of the text column, and the text goes above and below (I tested).

Rori - I keep going around this every way I can think of it, and maybe it's just something I don't get. Is it possible to use a leash with a breakaway collar? It seems like, every time the cat pulled hard on the leash unexpectedly, the collar would (and should!) unclasp, and you're left with leash and collar and no cat.
Trying to wrap my mind around it — just my day for "wrapping" I guess. 😂 Walmart has some quite blingy breakaway collars, though, or even a rasta collar, if you so choose.
Just no matching sets.
Couldn't resist the kitty gif… you'd be surprised what you get when you put in "rasta cat." 😹
Carol - Your granddaughter is an absolute winner. I love seeing these strong, beautiful girls growing up, taking over the world with all that energy.
Things to do, my peoples.
Hope it is/was a lovely Sunday for everyone…
Love,
Lisa in AR5 -
Yes, Carol, I would like to echo Lisa about your granddaughter. That takes some mighty dedication as well as talent.
Edie ate like there was about to be a famine today! So much energy burned with all her sports. I know she is looking forward to two weeks off over Easter. My son's beef was great, and my mousse was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. They all scraped their bowls! Full kudos should go to John who had a mountain of washing up yesterday. 💖
Bea gave us a rehearsal of her Grade One violin exam tomorrow. Pretty good.
It was funny carrying all the chocolate pots over today on a tray. The Uber driver was lovely. He is off to Mallorca next week!
Now home and about to have a nap. 😉

I stopped in a small local grocery yesterday and found an apple ‘bag’ full of large ripe avocados, red pepper, and some small plum tomatoes for $1.99! DH made quacamole out of the avocados and he toasted a tortilla and broke it into pieces for me last night. Awesome! The avocados made a lot of quacamole, so had some this morning wrapped in a tortilla. I wanted avocado toast but we had run out of bread. The pepper had a small soft spot on the bottom, the rest was useable and we didn’t find anything wrong with the tomatoes. Had one in a salad at lunch. I should have taken a picture of the bag and ingredients. They had a few more bags out, but the others weren’t as usable as this one for us. Mostly hot peppers and jalapeños.
I coughed my fool head off yesterday and used my nebulizer 4 times, plus my emergency inhaler twice. Too much albuterol which didn’t help. Only the inhaler worked, so this morning, started with the inhaler, and will continue to use that if needed for the day. Allergies are extremely bad here this spring, making my asthma worse than I’ve ever had it. Sigh….. if it’s not one thing it‘s another.
Thought for today:
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To show the possum that it’s possible!

having a pretty good hair day- didn't put much product in it so not as curly as usual but that is ok.

Debbie ~ Your hair is a pretty color and I think I like it better with not so much curl!
Heather ~ Lisa: Thanks for complimenting my granddaughter. Her mom has made sure that she and her brother have been involved in many different sports activities since they were toddlers.
Thanks to all of you who are sharing your nature photographs!

Heather - beautiful painting, one of your best ever I think. Glad you were able to get a prescription, and hope your UTI gets cleared up quickly.
Allie - Poor Tracy. Kidney stones are so painful, been there. Glad she's back home! Do they have any other backup if you weren't available for some reason?
Carol - congrats to your granddaughter, she's a great athlete. How is your son doing after his colon surgery? Back home now and enjoying solid food?
I see a local museum is having a "Fascinator" workshop in May. Hope they post photos of the different headpieces participants come up with.
Reminder for weekly Check-In if participating. 😁

Listened to an interview with Tim Spector author of Food for Life yesterday a doctor from Britain who specializes in nutrition and gut microbiome. He had a stroke due to high blood pressure in 2012 which might have had something to do with his interest in the subject. He would have been 58 when it happened.
He reconfirmed much of what I am doing…He gave 7 things to aim for
- Eat 30 different plants a week. Nuts, seeds, herb, spices count…
- Eat the rainbow…each color have different polyphenols we need…
- Two to three fermented foods daily
- Cut down on meat substitute lentils, beans, mushrooms…
- Become a Qualitarian. Question the quality of the food you eat. Quality over quanity
- Eat in a window 8-12 hours so gut has 12-16 hours to rest
- Drink and eat food with enough water so you do not get dehydrated.
He does not count calories. Two foods can be the exact same calories one will nourish you and the other only taxes your gut and your liver. He follows the above guideline most of the time with a few times he goes off because of going out to eat and special occasions.
For 66 he looked healthy and at a good weight so he practices what suggests for others.
I have followed this way of eating for a little over a year now and have maintained my 27-30 pound weight loss. Blood pressure went from 140/90 to 105-115/70-75 pulse for 80's to 69.
I will have a physical in a couple of weeks so I will see how my blood work looks..
I just feel so much better.
When I am tempted I just look at the ultra high processed food and think what it does to me and what it does and has done to those I love and it stops me cold from picking it up and eating it.
Now I really enjoy my food because it tastes so good and it fills me up so I have no interest in snacking or eating in the evening.
🧡Margaret

Rosie – I’ve been using the free version since 2009 and never felt the need to go premium
Tracey – yesterday I was stress eating not being able to see PJ. But today I’m getting more and more of the feeling like “look how much money we’re saving”. Hey, I gotta look at it somehow!!!
Re – I like your sweeteners in your zucchini bread. How does allulose and monk fruit compare calorie-wise with regular sugar?
He’s working on our bathroom at the condo right now. Lowe’s just called since he’s ordering things (like the tub, drywall, etc) for us to pay. Can’t wait to see it!
After work stopped at WalMart since I needed a bandage for my wound. Went to Lowe’s Hardware to buy Preen. Home and cut the grass, put down the Preen, then the paver sand. Right as I finished, it started to rain. Which in a way was a good thing because you are supposed to wet the sand, and I didn’t have to.
The lady called about the bathroom. They’ll call tomorrow for an order, and just a heads up it’ll be a large order. I’m thinking about $1,000. They’ll call after we are back from bowling.
Off to take a shower, probably work some on my craft and make the bed.

Allie - I think it is ok to not fee 100% only 3 weeks after a kidney transplant, and it sounds like you have been fairly active-don't overdo it!
I have been working on purging and sorting things and getting ready for surgery. Got quote from someone today for some work in basement-retile the old shower (I have tile left from upstairs shower that should just about do it), paint walls, put down inexpensive vinyl plank over the very old floor tile. DIL ays I shouldn't put any more money in house but I want the bath to be functional so I list it as legit 2 bathrooms. I guess since my kids aren't paying, it is my choice!
We have storms moving through-looks like the strongest are about to hit here-Kylia probably already experiencing them. Tornado warnings south of us.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio
