How do you celebrate weight loss vicotories?

I've lost 8 pounds in the last 2 weeks by sticking to my food and exercise plan. In the past I might have celebrated by enjoying some Ben and Jerry's or a doughnut or another forbidden treat...telling myself that this is my reward.

Today I celebrated by making a flax meal pancake that I added cocoa powder too and a tbsp of trader joe's peanut butter and some sugar free chocolate chips. Topped with smart balance and sugar free syrup.

A decadent treat at 309 calories, 3 net carbs and 16 grams of protein. Much better and more filling then the 500 calorie Ben and Jerry's I would have chosen in the past.

Wow...congrats on your amazing weight loss. And this breakfast of yours sounds yummy. I didn't know that there were sugar-free chocolate chips available...need to look out for it :-)

Why don't you treat yourself to a massage or a facial? I usually treat myself to something other than food. Something that will make me feel good and pretty. What do you think?

New cloth... more of a necessity than celebration, perhaps, but still fun

I do eat treats (some of them QUITE calorie-dense) but not to celebrate anything. I just eat them because I enjoy their taste, and because I've managed to fit them into my plan.
  • Congrats on the 5 lb loss!
I dont celebrate my weight loss by eating.. I celebrate by get something new for myself, like a new shirt or pants..
Or a new DVD workout to keep me going..

Ive never done anything to celebrate,it never crossed my mind lol
  • I agree with the treating yourself with something other than food. As long as you are taking in enough calories to be healthy...
I most enjoy going to one of the dept. stores and snooping through the clothing clearance racks. I find something that fits and I smile until my face hurts. I was in a size 3x/4x at my worst. I am Now in a Medium! Woot! Can't beat that kind of reward :-)

LOL. I also bought a new outfit for work! But I think I was just really craving a sweet treat and it amazes me sometimes that I've managed to find healthy options to replace the old unhealthy favorites.

  • For every 10 pounds lost I buy a new Kindle Ebook. I usually just download the free books or the 99 cent ones. Once I lose 10 I buy one that is a new title and is at least $10.00. I use the kindle to read while I am on the Elliptical. It makes the time fly.

I don't celebrate, I think I did all of my celebrating as I gained the weight!

I celebrated my weight loss by thanking ALL of my mfp friends..no way i could have done it without them. Im a bit of a brat and don't need excuses to 'spoil' myself, but I might take a trip to Toronto Via Singapore and San Francisco to visit friends for christmas holidays...but I know that without this community, and in particular, my mfp friends and their amazing motivation and inspiration, there's NO WAY I could have done it. Thats why I love them all..and never afraid to tell them this every chance I get.
