Adding Pilates

I am trying to add a 50-minute Pilates reformer class to my diary. Here on the website I can look that up, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to look it up and log it in the app. I have tried to search for it in all three categories that the app lets me choose from. What am I doing wrong?

If you're using web browser MFP, you log the exercise in the exercise diary's cardiovascular section. It looks like this:
Click the Exercise tab, Exercise Diary sub-tab. Once there, click "Add Exercise".
That will take you to the exercise search page. If you'd already logged the exercise, it'd be in your Recent list. If it's new, type text to search for in the search box, then click the search button.
That will take you to a page where you can keep searching if necessary, or pick the item you want from a list. In the example, I've already clicked the top item in the search list, which makes it show up in the box on the right-hand side:
There, fill in how long you did the exercise in minutes. It will estimate calories, but you can override that with your own estimate if you believe you have a more accurate number. Then click Add Exercise. That will add the exercise to your daily diary. You can see it back on the Exercise Diary page, plus there will be calories added to your calorie goal on your food diary and some other pages/reports.

Can I do it from the app or do I need to login on the web and add it to my exercise exercises and then it shows up in the app?

You can do it in the app. I'm sorry, I saw that you said you'd looked it up on the web, and I didn't read closely that you wanted to add it in the app..
It's there, so you're experiencing some kind of a bug.
If other diary-type and search functions are working for you in the app, this should work, too.
If it's not working, I'd start by doing the usual stuff, like sign out and back in, restart phone and try again, etc. You could also try logging it once in web browser MFP, then see if it shows up in your recent list in the app after that. Remember that you may need to use the Sync in the More menu if you look for it right away in the app.
If none of that works, I think you'll need to open a support ticket through the help function.

Thanks @AnnPT77. It didn't occur to me to look for Pilates under cardio! It was there all along. I appreciate you helping me figure it out.

The cardio section is the only place that will estimate and add calories for an exercise. For that purpose, even weight lifting is added in the cardio section.
The strength section is just for recording reps/sets/weight . . . and there are other apps that do that plus have more and better overall strength training features than MFP has.
