What item in your home is something you would rather get rid of, but don't for some reason? (Necessary evil to keep, sentimental reasons, gift from a friend/loved one, etc)

My daughter’s toys. Every time I try to put them in the donate bin, it suddenly becomes her most cherished item 🤣
If your younger self could see you now, what what would they be proud of—and what would they question?2 -

If you could see only one last concert (living and dead) who would it be and why?
2 -
Trans-Siberian Orchestra…my wife and I saw them one Christmas, still remember fondly a decade later…it's not just a musical concert you hear, but sweet-smelling fog to better see the laser show until you feel the heat from the bursts of fire…it's a total experience
If you could sacrifice one sense in order to super-charge one other, which senses would you select?
1 -
I guess sense of taste ? Much less food tentations if everything is tasteless 😂
But I would super-charge my sight ! Heck, I don't even want it super-charged, just, normal 20/20 vision would work, my eyes are so bad 😢What is a childhood "secret" that you would be willing to reveal now ?
1 -
When I was 8, my family all went to the mall at Christmas time, and when we loaded into the car after I noticed several packages where I could partially read toy labels through the transparent plastic bags. A couple weeks later, "Santa" gave those exact same items to us on Christmas morning. Coincidence? For the sake of my younger brother and sister, I never said a word.
What is something you thought as a child (or young adult) would be considered "normal" today, which has not happened the way you expected?
1 -
I thought that once you became an adult, you’d have it altogether and know everything. I’m well into adulthood and still hasn’t happened. 🤣
What’s something you’ve done that you think everyone should try at least once?1 -
Work in the food industry, as a waiter, busboy, chef, etc. When you have never worked these jobs it's so easy to become impatient with unrealistic expectations as a customer, but if everybody (including rich folks) spent at least a couple weeks doing these jobs, I think we'd all get along better in restaurants.
If you won the lottery, what is one thing you'd immediately spend money on, and one thing from your current life you do NOT want to change?

I would spend money on family, loved ones, and finding ways to help those that are less fortunate - oh, and a brand new truck!
What is one decision (when you were at a crossroads) you made in life that placed you on the path you’re on now and do you feel like it was the right decision?1 -
Dang!! That’s a good question!
Not sure if this counts but it’s the first thing that came to mind…
I used to bottle my feelings. I thought I was supposed to be happy all the time and that it was the only acceptable emotion. But of course, being happy 100% of the time is unrealistic and those bottled feelings would then come out in an explosion of anger. Those explosions caused a lot of issues in different relationships in my life. My brother and I didn’t talk for years. I realized I needed to change. It took some work to rewire my thinking but I finally became comfortable with feeling sad and being able to communicate properly. By letting myself be vulnerable and sad, I’ve actually become the happiest I’ve ever been.
I’m going to steal that same question because I would like to know other people’s answers.
What is one decision (when you were at a crossroads) you made in life that placed you on the path you’re on now and do you feel like it was the right decision?2 -
It totally counts and thank you for sharing … would love to hear others answers but I can share a pivotal point in my life from a career perspective.
I’ve been fortunate and seem to have always had great jobs. However, I seemed to always function with a healthy dose of anxiety - worried about what would happen should the job go away - I finally made the decision one day to take care into my own hands and went back to school to get my graduate degree and ensure I had more control over my employment and career - the bonus is that I loved school.Let’s tee it up one more time:
What is one decision (when you were at a crossroads) you made in life that placed you on the path you’re on now and do you feel like it was the right decision?

My girlfriend and I had just broken up over what we thought were impossible differences…she smoked (I don't), and though her life had calmed down after the birth of her son, she dearly wished she could return to her wild party days (I'm far calmer and responsible). I could have left her behind and focused upon my military career, but I also couldn't stop thinking about the connection we otherwise had felt. After about a week our paths crossed again (lived in the same apartment complex), and I made the snap decision to try to work things out with her. She felt the same, and in a few weeks we will celebrate 23 years of marriage. (I adopted her son, and we've had three more children together.) So yes, I absolutely feel it was the right decision.
What is one book you wish were turned into a movie, and who would you cast for the lead role?

Who put on the best live performance you have ever seen (in person)?
0 -
Easy, my all-time favorite musical artist, Garth Brooks. Was supposed to be a 2-hr concert; SIX HOURS LATER he stops the band after a song, apologizes, tells folks he'll not be offended if anybody leaves…then begins playing for ANOTHER HOUR!!!
If you could study at the feet of anybody in history, whom would you choose (and what would be the subject/skill learned)?
