Today is Good Friday … the first of several public holiday days at this time of year.
Today has been a quiet day for us.
I slept and slept
Then I …
listened to ABC Classic FM - the classical music radio station
searched the internet for a particular version of Kyrie Eleison, and found what I was looking for
put away some laundry
sorted through my bathing suits and decided to get rid of 3 of them
fixed a pair of shoes
coloured
read 3 chapters of my book
went for a walk and took photos
walked Rhody
looked through a Tasmanian Gardens book from the library
and we've been watching Escape to the Country
Not a lot but I really didn't want to be busy today. Low energy.
So this is the version of Kyrie Eleison I found. I listened to several, but liked this one the best. I found it beautiful and relaxing.

Thought for today:
Why do people who live in Greece hate waking up at dawn?
Because Dawn is tough on Greece!
Have a great day!

Yes Allie you need to lay low. If your blood pressure gets to low you can pass out. NO DRIVING! Best to put your legs up so more blood goes to your heart. Make sure your health team knows it is that low! Tell the rest of the world you can not hear of their troubles today you are sick and need to take care of you. Just like in a plane when the oxygen masks come down you need to put the oxygen on you first.
Drinking more fluids, eating more salt (after consulting with a healthcare professional), wearing compression stockings, and ensuring adequate hydration found these suggestions on the internet.

Going to a Mystery Dinner Theater Saturday. I got half price tickets through my Zumba instructor who is in the cast. My friend and I had fun thinking of our code name. We decided on Cagney and Lacey. I'll be Cagney because I have the light hair and she is Lacey because hers is more dark. We picked it because she was out with another friend who has light hair and they called them Cagney and Lacey and they had so much fun with it.
I suggested to my Zumba instructor who was going to have Barb in her name Bar -B- Clue as a play on bar-b-que because she will roast us. I also suggested Barbie Sharp because she is more perceptive and clever than we are.
Already having fun thinking about going!

❤️ Dear Allie, please take care of yourself and ask your friends and family to help you. You are forever giving to others and time for them to help you. A few weeks of recovery will make it possible for you to continue your life in a better way. When I had bronchitis in my 40's Jake said to me "don't forget, you're not as young as you used to be". I bristled at those words, but he was right. Since then I have taken the time necessary to recover from whatever ails me. I hope you will, too.
😀 Margaret, congrats on your good test results. You good actions have brought good results.
😀 Plans for today include dancing, dog walking, exercise bike, knitting, TV, pulling weeds,

Morning, my chicks,
Allie - Good advice both from you and for you. When my BP is that low, it's time to relax, eat some saltines, get my compression socks back on, and not drive anywhere. Please do lay low.
Sitting here eating breakfast and cooling down. Decided to go ahead and get that yellow climbing rose planted before the rain tomorrow and Sunday, give it a good start. But, as usual, the action itself isn't the hard part, it's all the prep work.
First I had to dig up all the bermuda grass, which runs underground as well as above, and prep the soil, and dig the hole. Then I swiped 21 of my retainer wall blocks from another bed that had sunken quite a bit, so didn't need its top layer.
At 24 lbs each, that meant shifting just over 500 pounds onto a cart to drag them over there, and then that same 500 pounds shifted into place. Doesn't even count the 40-pound bag of soil that I spread in it. About 475kg shifted, for our friends to the north and overseas. I was sweating! Looks pretty pitiful at the moment, with a stub of a rose bush in it.
But it means Corey doesn't have to worry about doing the work for me. Is it perfect? Yeah, no. But it's done. I may stop at Lowes on the way to my podiatry appointment and get one more rose bush though. Why just do something when you can overdo it?
Feeling very virtuous. And sticky. All that sweat is drying fast. Yurk.
Time for a shower and try to make my feet look good for my 1 p.m. appt.
Have I mentioned that I hate people touching me? Yeah, I think I've mentioned it. 🤢
Later, my babies,
Love,
Lisa in AR9 -
Have you had a chat with your doctor about your blood pressure? Please keep your medical staff informed about all these things.
Do you read books? Now would be the time to borrow one from Libby and spend the day reading! Reading and napping.

Well, did get 4 plants. Oneof them is a small one. It looks like the one that was there didn’t make it so I just got another plant like it.
Allie – thanks for the smile. Well, even if you are up every 20 minutes, Siri will keep your bed warm. She’ll probably take your spot….lol Take care of yourself!!! And THAT'S an order!!!!
Heard this noise like a lawnmower. Looked out the window and the guy was taking out the stumps. What a nice surprise.
work today and met the gal. I think her name is W. Anyway, she’s a sweet girl. She is learning some English. I remember when I first got back from FL, I went to work and had a knife. I guess she needed it but I kept saying “no, I need it”. Finally, I had to take it out of her hand. Well, today I had an empty box in the back room and she was going to throw it away. I just said “no, I need that” and she seemed to understand. She probably only understood the word “no”. As I left she said something about “5”. I suspect she might have been asking me if I was working until 5. I just had to say “I don’t understand”. But if I was correct, she saw me punch out and knew that I was leaving.
After work stopped at WalMart. I wanted to look for the rolls that I liked once before, but they didn’t have them. Maybe they were a “one deal” at Aldi. Anyway, I got another brand. Decided that since I was there, I’d get the fruit for Jess’ basket along with the wine. Then home to have breakfast, get dinner ready. Also made the key lime pie for Sunday. It's green because I didn't have any yellow food dye.
Heather – Bea is very artistic. Love the hat. Reminds me of this dude ranch I went to when I was little. We all had to make hats with a certain theme
Rosemarie – good question about how long caps last. My first one was put on probably about 30years ago. I used to have a GPS in my car. Do you? I really didn’t like it because I needed constant updates since new roads are constantly being constructed. Right now I use Waze almost all the time. At least I know they’re up to date. ”One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small, and the one that mother gives you don’t do anything at all” Have fun!
Rita – groan
Margaret – That Murder mystery sounds neat. Are you going to dress up? Congrats on those good numbers
The guy about the deck is supposed to be here at 4. Think I’ll plant at least one of the plants that I got. Also going to look at the work the stump guy did.
Tonight we're going to the theater to see "Jesus Christ Superstar". I'm just curious how they'll do it. I've seen it in a couple other venues.
Didn't go to the soup kitchen today. They're closed for Good Friday. I always felt bad when they were closed, but a gal at work today was telling me how someone else who works there told her that when the soup kitchen is closed, some of the churches serve meals. That makes me feel good. At least I know that no one is going hungry.

Lisa - sounds like you did the equivalent of a week's worth of Farmer's Carry moving those cement blocks. So glad to hear you were able to get things straightened out with the medical team.
Michele - sounds like a busy day for you today. Glad the little gal at work is catching on and making an effort. She'll learn some good work habits from you. My "caps" (crowns) are in the 30+ age. The one that's bothersome now - I think the crown itself is in good shape but chance of decay in the tooth underneath it. Tho it acts more like receding gum type sensitivity and if I brush with Sensodyne it clears up. Now that I've said that, watch it really flare up!
Margaret - fabulous results on the labs. You are a prime example of the benefits of eating nutritious meals and avoiding the sugar and foods that aren't good for us. Thanks for sharing your results and what you are find out about all this.
Has any of you had your fasting insulin tested? My labs are set for Friday the 25th at 10. Dr. Lisa has many on the list - Lipids, CDC, A1C, B12, fasting insulin (that's a new one for me) and more. My D was 83 last September so will skip that one this time.
Warm sunny day, I'm in and out of the house. I don't think the lawn has grown enough to mow so it can wait until next week. In the meantime, pruning and more weeding.
Wishing a peaceful Good Friday to those of you who commemorate.

BAD GRAMMAR REVIEW:
In my haste this morning, I see I overlooked some mistakes. Here they are. There are probably others.
In my message to Margaret: Thanks for sharing your results and what you are
findFINDING out about all OF this.HasHAVE any of you had your fasting insulin tested? My labs are set for Friday the 25th at 10. I used to do copyediting in a previous life so these things jump out at me in other people's posts. 😁 And my own once the pot has soaked for a while.
Heather - I have the utmost respect for your patience in writing your books and getting them ready to publish. Do you think each one is easier?

😀 I am pleased with filling two five gallon buckets with weeds today which took about an hour. It was a beautiful sunny time with Annie enjoying the sunshine. My neighbour came for a short visit, I danced for an hour this morning, and watched tv and knitted and rode my exercise bike for two hours. After we have our supper we'll go out for another walk.

😀 I just started rereading Outer Order—Inner Calm by Gretchen Rubin and I'll share some things that resonate with me. It's worth reading the whole book (or listening to the audio book) but just a simple quote can be useful.
"Outer order saves time, money, space, energy, and patience" Some examples are not having to spend a lot of time looking for things are, arguing with family members about who used the thing last, or having to buy a new one because you can't find the one you already have.

Lanette - I think if I had looked up how much the things weigh before I started shifting them, I would have thought better of it, but once I began, couldn't stop! I am aching in places I didn't even know I had at the moment, but have done enough in the last few weeks that it will fade quickly.
Allie - I'm glad they're paying attention and that you're getting you the Keflex going. Be careful, my friend, you've got a ways to go yet to heal!
Medical shtuff, good for a change: 😁
Good visit with the podiatrist - as I said, he's a PRN - basically a nurse allowed to do some things, but not everything. He isn't allowed to give injections, but said he thought one would help me a lot. The current referral serves for a year, so if I'm up to going to Fayetteville, or things get worse, I can just call and make an appt to have someone up there do the injection without having to go back to my primary.
He is also sending me to a local company to get custom orthotics made, as well as prescription shoes for me to wear. I'll go there to get molds made of my feet. My ankles are rolling inward too far, and he thinks orthotics will go a long way toward correcting the way I walk and hopefully a lot of the ankle and knee pain.
Hope he's right.
Made ham, potato, broccoli gratin for dinner, turned out OK, not my best. Also got fresh strawberries on sale at our little local grocery, $4 for a 2-pound package. Not sure we'll get through them all, but couldn't resist the scent of them when I walked by.
Time to chill - I put in 12,000 steps today, and burned nearly a thousand calories in exercise with all that this morning.
Love,
Lisa in AR7 -
Atta girl Lisa
My son in law wears orthotics and they help immensely. Speaking of..Mr moody was in one of his snits today.and stayed upstairs watching t.v. ,told Tracy he didn't want kids so she can deal with them.. he can be such a p—-k sometimes
And Tracy bless her goes with flow.meanwhile making sourdough breads ,feeding Delia and trying to keep a 3 yr old quiet so daddy can sleep 🙄 ugh
Will pick up the reflex in the morning.. still running to the restroom, but took an antidiareal..I know TMI.
Well Siri and I are tucked in,will talk to Sean tomorrow possibly going to a mutual friend of ours for Easter Sean cooking Prime Rib and I'll bring some sides

I don't think MFP cares about grammar 😄 … and neither do we. Like you say, our brains automatically correct or if we do notice, I chalk it up to typos, especially if someone is using a phone.
Also different parts of the world use different grammar when speaking and writing English. And different purposes require different grammar.
At work and for uni, I run my papers, instruction sheets, briefs, consultation contributions through Word's grammar check with all the options on. And then I read them out loud, if I can, or slowly sentence by sentence so that I can do a sound check. Our ears will often pick things up that our eyes don't. At work and uni, I need a formal grammar.
But here, we use conversational grammar.

Was able to chat with eldest sailor son in Japan along with youngest sailor son at Balboa. I think it was a moral booster for us all. My youngest still isn't eating much, today was cereal. But he reacted to it, and had to rush in after muster. He does have a GI doctors appointment but that's not until Thursday. Until then he musters twice a day, and picks up trash (like he's been doing since diagnosed back in November). Poor kid, I am glad he is still upbeat, especially now since most of the sailors in medical hold are in there for mental health issues, then there's him. Sorry he just chatted in bed because he was cold. So he's in the dark there.🙃
Hugs ladies!
Happy Easter to those that celebrate it.

Today's ride …
I was doing intervals again (or HIIT - High-Intensity Interval Training) on the blocked off road behind the airport, while my husband was going back and forth using his recumbent.
I was only really pushing it in one direction as you can see from the speed chart, and I went harder than I did last week when we did the same thing. Nearly threw up at the end of the last interval … I put all I had into it!
My legs can clip along quite well … but my lungs need a bit of help!

Belated welcome @pamiede in Bryan MS! What a horrible setback. All good luck and wishes to you.
Pip oh nooo! ((hugs)) and SMOOCH that pooch for me.
Tracey love the Lunch with Girlfriends poem. Glad for Rodger’s excitement about the new assignment, but even gladder to hear he spent some time with you. A little dot of light in so many ways.
Heather “Eggcelent” indeed! Were the girls fooled by the wooden ones? Bea looks like she’s grown up overnight!
Lisa ((hugs)) so hard to be so far away from your friend. And the VA catch 22 maze ((hugs)).
Barbie congratulations on running the marathon to finally get your Soc Sec appointment. I’d hate to be blindsided by questions I could have been prepared for had I but known they were coming, especially about my husband’s ex(es).
Mo migraines really suck. 5 twelve hour shifts in a row?!? ((hugs))
Machka I’m with you about password managers. “…tell the others” made me snort my water! Those pics are stunning, esp the bird in the saltwater bay.
Rita I am so glad you have the neighbor’s Zander to hug, and that you’re careful to have something to lean on when he hugs you back!
Michele those rolls sound like these, but they used to come in an aluminum pan.
Rosemarie that drain trap trouble sounds strange, I agree it’s hard to imagine no fix for that. Maybe the plumber wasn’t qualified to do the non-plumbing work required (demo, tiling, whatever). Oh boy do I remember Jefferson Airplane, they were my favorite group. Saw them and all their offshoots, Hot Tuna, Starship, etc. many times in SF and the east bay. Hot Tuna even played once in Boise when we lived there. I’m still startled by the Northern TP ad’s “We quilt this city…” ;}
Carol hope the PT really eases your back pain. It’s cured my torn shoulder.
Margaret VERY well done!!!
Dermatologist took one look at the spot on my leg and said “Not cancer!” Just an inflamed keratosis. She zapped it triple good and will re-check at next month's scan appointment. Hit Winco, See’s, Trader Joe’s and Natural Grocers. Took the scenic route back, bypassing Grants Pass traffic, and almost missed the espresso milkshake I promised myself, Coffee Heaven closes at 5pm in winter. By the time I got home and all groceries put away my left hip was screaming (too much sitting me thinks.) Took an Advil and went right to sleep. Hit the hot tub this morning and met D for a nice stroll at 11:30 which really helped my hip ease up. Lunch at the Mexican food truck (delicious quesadilla but the guac had tomatoes AND cilantro. Yuck). Napped 'til Tumble insisted it was tummy time. Watched Good Friday services on YouTube and caught up here. We’ll have our Easter Feast tomorrow morning as that’s when Joe will eat. Just a little ham, baked sweet potato, grilled asparagus, and a See’s Easter egg for dessert. Then Sunday will go to church early to re-heat (and re-pipe) the hot cross buns for fellowship.
Whew, finally caught up!Later, lighter, lovelies!
