Really working this week to recommit myself to a strict (not too strict) calorie intake. We've also worked on getting the "junk" out of the house. This week's groceries will be fruit and veggie rich for snacks to help combat the habitual eating and eating when I am bored.

Thanks for the welcome back, ladies, I look forward to watching all of us progress together!

    Hey all!

I haven't checked in like I was planning to do. First, because it's just been really busy. Second, because I honestly needed to take a bit of time to process some stuff going on.

Tomorrow I'm going away for the weekend. One of my daughter's best friends lost her mom in September and her wish afterwards was for this spring/summer to have a weekend at the beach with her closest friends. None of the girls know, but we've made that a reality and are taking all of them to Myrtle Beach over Easter weekend. Trying to make plans and not give ourselves away to the girls has been interesting. It's going to be 5 adults and 7 girls for 3 days. I think there are 2 or 3 bathrooms in the space… I'm so glad it isn't just one. Oof.

Last weekend was pretty great. I had multiple events where people brought food and I was trying to watch my blood sugars on the Dexcom react. I know it's been about 6 weeks of wearing it and they have gotten a ton better…. but I have a lot more control when I'm cooking at home. I did a Harry Potter cookbook potluck on Friday night (my big book club), a Fairy Tea Party on Saturday afternoon (fantasy book club), and celebrated my daughter's friend after a big concert performance at Texas Roadhouse on Sunday afternoon. Three events in three days was a lot. However, I'm doing better with figuring out what works and planning what I can because I didn't have much in the way of huge spikes and I didn't have any major lows. I did start to get a bit low before the tea party since I wasn't eating a lot beforehand. I managed to make it work though and learned not to hold out just because something is coming. It's all part of the process of figuring out what works and what doesn't.

As a tax for my being away for a week and a long post…. Fairy Cosplay Photo!

Some progress to report. Although my scale settled on the same weight as yesterday 244.2 it was taking a while to settle showing 243.? etc. My assumption is that my weight was lower but not .2 lower and my scale only shows increments of .2. So I think I am probably 244.1. This small amount doesn't mean a lot it would seem but it does with me. When I have hit the low of 244.8 i went back up the two times I hit it. This time is different I went down and this indicates that I am staying low this time.

Last night I made a mash up of French Onion Soup and crock pot lamb stew because N (my youngest adult child living at home) had brought home a bag of free red onions. Since they lost their job in Software engineering they entered a construction union pre-apprenticeship that gets food donations since the participants are unemployed. N only takes food no one else takes when they have too much. Sometimes N takes it to a food bank where she volunteers instead of bringing it home. I made a bowl each of broth and onions and topped like French Onion soup and then we had some lamb stew. I shouldn't have beef too much so I was using lamb broth. However I found out that beef broth doesn't have much iron like beef does. My body doesn't slough off excess iron and it can be a problem if it builds up in your body.

I have been feeling like I am losing belly fat but haven't measured until this morning. So yes I have lost over 4 inches in my waist. This is the pound we want to get rid of since they are the most unhealthy ones. So for me this is better news than the tenth of a pound I probably lost. I am also glad that instead of going up and varying I am staying down and even continuing to lose. I really want to see 243 soon.

@pamperedlinny N (my youngest adult child) is cosplaying all weekend. There is an Anime/Manga convention this weekend. I am going to the Tulip festival with my husband mostly to get some stoneware by a small company that has a booth there. Enjoy the time at the beach. I love the beach. My son and his family is moving close to my favorite beach in Washington so I am hoping we can spend time there together this spring or summer with my 2 year old grandson.

    Hi,

    My name is Jamie

I have used myfitnesspal off and on for years but this is the first time I really have joined.

I have been struggling to loose weight for years. Had started some medicine last year lost almost 15 lbs then had side effects of medicine. Stopped them. Now trying to get my health back on track. I gained twice the weight back since January 2025. I want to get motivated and start a healthy plan.

I struggle most in the evening. Husband is on second shift and I have emotional eating. Trying to learn to control my self. Any advice on this I would appreciate.

What I have achieved right now is starting to walk on Sunday's. Trying to make one new healthy meal on the weekend's.

Thank you for being there for others 🙏🏻

Hello. I Battle lipolympimdima I use compression suits. I just started cutting out gluten and using other smartwatch apps and what not to calculate. All of my stats is what I call them. I'm glad that I found this group. And I'm eager to start the myfitnesspal. So I had it installed back in 2012 so I've been having an account on here for a long time, but I just started reusing it recently. And this week I've been very obedient and putting in all of my calories because I really need to do a calorie deficient program during my intermittent fasting.

So i'm hopeful to find this community as supportive and make online

My husband and I went to a Tulip Street fair and drove to see the tulip fields so we found a fun way of getting exercise. On the way home we went to a cafe next to a food co-op that has healthy food. Had a healthy dinner. Tonight I am going to my sisters for game night. My husband is too busy to come with but my brother and my SIL and BIL will be there. Like us they are eating healthy. I found a berry cobbler recipe with no refined sugar or flour to bring.

Hello, I'm new to the community aspect of MFP although I've had the app since December. About me:

    • Age: 55
    • SW: 263
    • CW: 255.7
    • GW: 170
    • HEIGHT 5'7"

I started MFP to partner along with my 20yo daughter. I've been obese my whole life without obvious poor lifestyle habits: I cook mostly at home, whole foods, low sugar, reasonable portion sizes and have always been reasonably active: in my younger years I lifted weights and jogged, now I walk and cycle. I have a hyper mobility disorder and have experienced multiple sprains, strains and dislocations. My daughter inherited it 😕 as well as my body style and metabolism. We are both bottom heavy with thick thighs and bubble butts (lipedema?)

I've fought shame my entire life, and the feeling that I have to prove that being fat isn't my fault. It breaks my heart to see my daughter with the same struggle. She experienced a work trauma and setback in the last year and the doctor tried her out on antidepressants, which resulted in rapid weight gain on an already curvy build. She's managed to lose nearly 20lb since December but found herself becoming too obsessive about calorie counting so she backed off on food logging. He weight has crept back up 10. She is very low and hates how she looks. It prevents her from going out or having a rich life.

I'm finally at a place in my life where I can accept that something is wrong and we can't fix our weight on our own- and we need help and support. Seeing the doctor tomorrow and feeling hopeful 🙏❤️. It's the first time in my life that I havebeen vulnerable this way and sought support if a community.

It's a bit tough some days, but i think mostly on my wallet 😂 I have a pretty good habit of eating relatively healthy (most of my "bad" calories come from in between snacks, and drinking my calories) so I've basically just doubled my meat/protein portion at every meal. Also, I found that mixing a serving of a sweet protein powder into a serving of greek yogurt boosts the meal from 15g of protein to 45g of protein, which is a HUGE help. I also add in egg whites to any stir-fry meals now. And I found protein tortillas and bread, which is double the protein of the usual brand without adding extra calories or carbs and they taste just as good. It was all about little substitutions for me.

If you're really curious, I have an open food diary so you can add me as a friend and take a peek :)

Hi all! I was MIA for a few months. I've been staying consistent in the gym (10 months 2-3x/week), but now I'm hoping to jump in sporadically with updates and to read everyone else's journey! I'm currently doing a 10 week "cut" (started April 1st) so I'm training more, tracking my macros, and having weekly weigh-ins with my trainer.

    SW April 2nd: 207.5lbs

    GW April 30th: 202lbs

    CW: 200.8lbs

    Starting BFP April: 37.1%

    Goal BFP April: 35%

    Current BFP: 36.9%

    GOALS:

    •Eat 1600-1800cals/day

    •Get 165-200g protein/day

    •Keep daily carbs 100-150g/day

    •Keep daily fats ~50g/day

    •Work out 4-5x/week

    •Average 10k steps/day for the week

    •Enjoy a delicious indulgent meal once/week

    •Cardio: 30mins 15 incline 2.2 speed, 2-3x/week

So, I ended up adding in cardio and in just a week of doing so I've dropped to 200.8lbs! Which means in 0.9lbs loss I'll have officially sized out of this group! I think I'll still be posting and keeping up here though, at least for a while 😂😂

Good job to all the familiar faces, and welcome to the new ones!

I have done really well over the last week and am so irritated with the scale but such is the process.

I dipped to 194.4 and then shot up to 195.8 and have been there for 4 days now. :( It'll move…. just have to be patient.

I had a crazy Easter weekend. My daughter, a bunch of her friends, and a few of us moms all went to Myrtle Beach over the weekend. 12 females in 2 interconnected rooms was a lot. I'm still trying to decompress. 😅

    Mental check-in.

Went off the rails a bit over the weekend. Overall, I don't think I did too terribly but didn't log and that can be dangerous.

I did not weigh in this morning either as time did not allow.

Mentally I am in a good place though because I'm not beating myself up and I am jumping right back into the swing of things today.

I don't think I am going to make my end of April goal but that's ok too. It'll happen.

The biggest setback over the weekend was that I made homemade pasties: Beef, potato, carrot, rutabaga, onion all wrapped in a delicious homemade crust! Eaten with brown gravy or ketchup or if you're weird, like me, both!

    IMG_3263.jpg

Very calorie dense and I could most days eat two… :( but back on track today!

Happy Monday Ladies and have a wonderful week!

    Good morning everyone!

Ending the month after an amazing vacation at 183.4, which is fine. All the good food and alcohol was worth it :)

I'm going to reboot my spreadsheet so I don't see my stagnation so far this year, time to make progress in May!

I missed my annual tradition of posting Justin, so please accept this offering a day late:

    Hello everyone:

2025 starting weight: 224 ( I am taking my queue from cupcakecrusoe- glad you enjoyed your trip!)

    Todays Weight: 221

Will you be trying anything new this month? Yes! Trying to get my head where it needs to be. Listening to some motivational and being healthy podcasts.

🌼What are you looking forward to this May? Same response: Getting in the right frame of mind to do this.

🌼And what is one thing you'd like to remind yourself (and others) not to worry about or stress over this month? Not to stress at all. Its counterproductive. Trying to learn to self care.

Made myself go back to low impact aerobics @ the gym and received a nice welcome from everyone so that was nice. Taking my dog for beach walk early eveni ngs to get some additional exercise. The dog is very happy about that. Its relaxing and helps with stress.

Hope you all have a great week!

Welcome ladies! Hi all. I exercised 5 times this week. This is the first time in quite a long time. My system is shocked. This is the new thing I am doing, exercising 5x per week. I walked 2.5 miles. It was almost too much. At least I have a starting point. I see my cardiologist NP at the end of June, and I want to be truthful when I tell her I exercise 5x a week. I can only take a day at a time. Building habits are oh-so-fun! Lol

Checking in with a quick post. I have had the plague ( well it feels like it) day 9 and not 100 percent yet. Everyone is hacking, snotting everywhere. So everything has been out the window.

    Be well
