Barbie, at line dance class last week, our stand-in teacher revived “Wave on Wave”, saying, you all know this one, right? Yah, I did back in Boise 20 years ago, but couldn’t dredge it out of long ago memories…
Rebecca Vaseline is my backside’s friend… just sayin’ You’re stuff is just stuff is another reminder that people and their feelings are more important that getting “things.” Awesome BP, well done!
Tracey Brava for walking again, a little longer and a little farther. Not a sprint but a marathon. Well done! ((hugs)) for crying and begging your “mom” to please just stay. ((hugs))
Heather your “they'd better read it first…” made me laugh out loud. Couldn’t finish your first book, was too disturbing. Will try again another time.
Carol the hardest part was that Mama thought she was doing me a favor, “organizing” those photos. 😢 Brava for doing your PT exercises. Hope the soreness eases and they help soon. If they don’t make you feel better/stronger/more flexible/more stable after 3 weeks, tell the physical therapist, s/he may have to adjust or try others. You are doing your part to help heal, bravissima! What is the little emoji below your post on pg 25? A little body wiped flat out?
Lanette, it may be that Mama DID do me a favor, I have no one to pass photos on to, no children who spent hours looking at the scrapbooks. Would you share the new Muck shoes you choose? My wellies are hard and cracked. New Winco store? I am sooooo jealous!!! Great prices, well worth their no credit card policy and bagging your own.
Lisa I too am waiting for it to get a little warmer before tackling the many outside chores, 50s and 30-50 mph winds make me want to curl up and read. Just watched the video, you GO gal!
Allie you are blessing Sean by lending him an ear and a shoulder. Please let it be no more than that, it’s exhausting enough! ((hugs)) about Buddy.
Rita so glad you are going back to Al-Anon, especially in preparation for your son’s transition from rehab to sober housing. ((hugs))
Carla you are very gifted. That card is beautiful!
Margaret so glad your patience was rewarded and you didn’t have the IRS glitch hanging over your Art in Bloom celebration of your friend’s birthday. Not raiding the potato chip bag? Bravissima!!! Totally agree about moderation and doing your own research.
Debbie does your Mom still have that woman living with her?
Ginny your calm is so admirable, you model “good patient”. ((hugs))
Michele could the red cleaning cloths be to avoid cross contamination of the vegetables you prepare from the (yellow?) chicken or (blue?) meat that others do? Thought you said something about Vince not wanting to cover for the ceramics guy. Guessed (wrong) he was hinting to you that you should do it ;) Your frozen orange juice concentrate (12 oz) and (32 oz) yogurt pops sound yummy, will make some this summer.
Machka that looks like what we called “crabgrass” when we lived in Ukiah. It truly is an ugly monster
Beth you’ll quickly recover from that 3 lb blip.
@pamiede Congratulations for taking off those three pounds. You’re right, consistency is key!
Rosemarie, you were prepared!
Kim as fulfilling as it is to figure out how, I find myself at 75 only too grateful when someone tall sees me struggling and reaches past me for the liquid dish soap I can’t quite get. ;)
Ack! Totally slipped my mind to take Tumble in for her annual senior well pet exam yesterday after chiropractor. It was there on my calendar, I just didn’t check it. Ungh.
That’s why I usually only schedule one appointment per day, if I can.
Only through pg 26 but been sitting too long. Time to put on my warm clothes, stocking cap and gloves to take Mooch and Shadow to dog group. Brr.
Later, lighter, lovelies!

Planted the two plants, that’s going to be IT for this year. I put the pickax and shovel back in the storage room. Then I walked down to Food Lion just to get some fruit and jello. Just got the lemon and they have lime and I needed one. Lector at the church tonight
beth – yes, we have to destroy the bulbs of the onion grass, but sometimes (many times) they are almost impossible to pull out. Sorry the pool people did a lousy job. Can you maybe have them redo it?
Making yogurt right now. I’m on a yogurt kick right now.
Rebecca – extra big hug
Heather – agree with the colors. Your pic is so pretty
Oh, about that non-English speaking gal. Well, she’s learning a bit of English. Before I would say to her “good morning, How are you?” I got very little response. Today I said “good morning, how are you” and she answered “fine”. So she understood me. This was the first time
Rori – so glad you checked in. So very sorry for all you’re going thru. How nice that N is going to come by you and you two will be getting away
Lisa – how wonderful the local guy offered to demolish the building!
Barbara – I really don’t think the colors of the wipes at BK have anything to do with cross-contamination because the people who work with the meats(bacon, sausage, ham etc) use those too. The pink ones are also used for general cleaning in the back. Cleaning the tables, you need to use the blue ones. I just use the pink and don’t worry about it. My daughter (41) STILL likes those pops! To me, high in calcium, vit. C, low in sugar and best of all --- cheap. I tried using apple and grape juice, but it’s no where near the flavor of orange. So if you do make them, use the orange. Wouldn’t surprise me if Vince wanted me to sub for the guy at ceramics. But I really don’t have any desire. I honestly don’t like this league. Was on it one summer, and there are 4 people on a team. To me, it takes so long to get thru the three games. I felt like I was living at the bowling alley. Sorry...I have other things to do. I didn’t realize that you’re 75!!! Never would I have guessed
Allie – I messaged Annie awhile ago but haven’t heard from her. I’m concerned, too. The last time she logged in was one month ago.
Am supposed to go to a mandatory meeting tomorrow at BK which I think is going to be a waste of time for me. Probably the only thing that will affect me will be discussion about proper uniform. Then they’ll probably talk about the necessity of putting time stamps on things when you use them, only I don’t make any sandwiches so this doesn’t pertain to me. Ah...I’ll probably go to look good
Went to Low's Hardware to get paint for me so I can start repainting the poles for the "fence" for Christmas and Halloween. It's not supposed to be windy the next few days. Also got some grass seed to put over the places where the stumps were removed and now the dirt is back. Vince says we don't need to use straw since the dirt is relatively loose. I don't know, but the landscaper will probably seed it when he comes in Sept. Just came in from watering the plants even tho it's pretty dark out.
Have a load of laundry in the dryer right now. Guess I'll take a short shower. Nite everyone

… I love how you used your time off! So often we take vacation or time off, but don't really do things that refresh and restore.
Many times over the past 7+ years, I've had assignments due, legal things to take care of, or job applications to prepare during my time off. Until recently, rarely have I had a holiday without some sort of "work" involved.
I half expected something to come up this time too!
But it was wonderful to have the time to do whatever I wanted … lots of cycling, of course, but also colouring, reading, just sitting and watching TV without doing anything else …

Hey, kids,
Restless night. They can't all be good, I guess. Egg came and sang outside the bedroom door at 5:30, so I finally gave up and got up.
Corey is still snoozing, of course. He and I are on very different schedules on the weekend, as I think I've said. I don't hold it against him at all, needing to sleep late on the weekends. He works a hard physical job, and deserves that downtime. However, by the time he's ready to get working, I've already been awake for as much as six hours, if not eight! I'm often ready to stop for the day just about the time he gets started.
Going to be interesting when he retires. In the meantime (hopefully not all six years!) there is cleanup continuation:
Dawn is just breaking, but trying to decide whether or not I'm going to try to start getting the trash into a wheelbarrow, and back across the stream into the dumpster this morning or not. The promised rain finally rolled in about 6 p.m. last night, kept going for a bit over an hour, but did water all my flowers. And, of course, got all that trash wet again.
The demolition guy will be taking care of the stuff inside the sheds, as well as taking down the sheds, too. That's a relief. Nonetheless, still lots of work to do for us.
Still got about 30 feet of fence left to clear, plus one firepit that was actually contained within a ring of rocks, but they burned trash in it as well, of course.
I also hauled six or eight trailer loads of brush to the brushpile up by our back treeline. My little trailer has a platform about 4 foot by 5 foot wide, and ends up piled about three to four feet high. I have ropes on all the corners to tie down the larger ends of the brush, as the tops of these are dragging about six to eight feet feet behind my little trailer, according to how high the underbrush is that Corey was uprooting. It's a lot, and will eventually have to be burned. One of his favorite things to sit outside with it on a calm day, read a book, and feed the fire for hours, very relaxing for him, he says.
I really hope John comes through and his crew gets the demolition completed in the two weeks he promised. The thought of having this in reasonably good shape by the end of May and waving the last dumpster goodbye makes both of us very happy.
There's Corey now, time for coffee service! 🍵😜🍵😽
Later, my dears,
Love,

Lisa, my husband and I have the same timing issue, but the other way around. On weekends and holidays, he usually gets up early (8 am-ish) while I sleep and sleep and sleep. 😴😴 It does shorten the time we can spend doing stuff together, but in some ways that's good. We each get space.
Last day of my holiday today and I spent most of it in the garden digging out some of that grass to create the rose garden space. Yes, I was using the mattock again and yes, my whole upper body wants to have a word with me now about all the exercise today.
But, we bought 2 more rose bushes a few days ago, so I felt like I should get busy and create the space for them.

Well thank you Barbara! For heaven's sake… send me your address so you can get one yourself! ❤️
It's WHAT I do. I absolutely LOVE making and sending cards. Who wants this one? I made three yesterday. This was one that I did while watching a technique class called Creativate, put on by four amazing women! So simple, huh?
While she was making hers, she someone said wouldn't this be fun in RWB? So then I made a second one.
My upline has an online "party" every Saturday morning called Stamp Together Saturday TRACEY!!! (go find Amy Rick, Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator) She provides an instruction card sometime during the week (usually Thu or Fri) with measurements and cutting details and the we all meet at 930am Central time to make a card. Some are very easy; others are a little more difficult. Then some of us share our cards on her thread. This was mine yesterday.
WHO WANTS THESE??? ❤️❤️❤️
Love and Blessings

Machka… When I went to therapy last week, they have a sidewalk with a tall fence on both sides. On the right, are roses all along the walk and on both sides by the entry door. It smelled so nice as all the roses are in bloom. I just stood there and smelled, until my sinuses filled up and I had to walk in. LOL It was like being in a huge rose garden. The fences were wooden privacy fences so held the scent in. It was lovely. Too bad the appointed had fallen through their computer gaps! On the nice side, I got to walk back through the rose walk on the way out.
A camper came over yesterday who we have met before and he is taking us out to Chili’s on Monday, his treat. He is very nice but lonely. Apparently, he is married, but his wife never wants to go anywhere, so he simply left her home and took off driving cross country and doing things he wants to do. Somebody after my heart! I would do that in a minute if I could. Alas, not possible.
This is move week. Today, is more packing, tomorrow is the Chili excursion, Tuesday is my kidney doctor (I’m at stage 3A), and Wednesday is paperwork day turning in keys, vests, and signing leaving papers. What a waste of time as we are coming back here in 2 weeks! One wonders what the ‘powers that be’ are thinking. They have never even seen the park, let alone know exactly what is going on in them. Everything on paper. I have always believed that administration and anyone in authority, needs to work their way up to the position they are in. They need to see what really goes on below them before making informed decisions.

Feeling better about my sons situation today. Its one of those things where if I am ok, he sees that I am ok, then he feels ok, kinda. He's still feels lousy, his Crohn's in a flare up, food has been interesting at the hospital, but at least they're watching him. Not sure how prep will go today, as his innards couldn't handle it on Thursday night.
Yesterday middle son, Eli, Athena, and youngest sailor video chatted. Afterwards my middle son said in a text that his brothers physical state was a bit of a shock. Yes this disease has taken its toll on him.😥💖. I think the call lifted my youngest sons spirits, and he laughed and smiled a bit.
I video chatted with eldest son in Japan to get him up to speed on what was going on with his brother. We talked for 2 hours. My eldest son has always been so easy to chat with. He makes a great room mate, and look forward to him retiring from the Navy and sharing this rental home with him. I need a bigger rice cooker!
Hugs ladies!

Howdy ladies!
Rebecca - glad you got to talk to your sons and great news that your youngest is in the hospital in good hands. Did he ever have any career goals/interests other than being in the Navy and seeing where that would take him?
Lisa - so glad you folks have the demolition crew lined up. Hope they do a bang-up job and you folks can get the huge clean-up project done by the end of the year.
Rori - good to hear you finished the Holter Monitor adventure and hope they decide it's nothing to worry about for many, many years. I remember when your Morton's Neuroma first flared up several years ago, about the time the Metatarsalgia started in my left foot. Glad to hear the Reiki is helping! Thank you for catching us up with your life and have fun with N - Golden Goobers, lol. Sorry about your friend's losses.
Rita - sending energy your way as you pack up, move, then move back. 😁 Enjoy your meal at Chili's.
Margaret- I forgot to mention earlier that your patience with the IRS paid off. I had no idea they held checks like that, I would have done the same thing as you with stopping payment, paying online instead and going on my merry way. Happy it's resolving.
Adventures in weed spraying land….
Yesterday we had sunshine and a nice breeze so I decided to spray some weed-killer in the driveway. What an ordeal, lol. The little battery operated wand that came with the stuff wouldn't work/draw up the solution. So I poured some into my 1 gallon pump-to-pressurize dispenser. That wouldn't work either. So I poured some of THAT into a 48 oz smaller pump sprayer that I used last week. ALSO A BUST! Blasted thing! So I channeled DH: cussed and threw it into the yard, lol. Pulled out one of those little hand sprayers I got in the cleaning section of Walmart. THAT one worked. Of course had to refill it every 5 minutes.
I took a break and then headed back out, thought I'd give the 48 oz one a try again after looking it up on YouTube and asking Copilot what I was doing wrong. Couldn't figure it out but it worked this time, most likely due to to DH's other world influence. 😁 Ran out of spray. I bought a container of "Spruce" at Walmart and will hit the rest of the weeds this week.
My WINCO shopping experience this morning:
I was there at 6:30. Employees were busy restocking items, mostly in the produce and dairy/yogurt section. I wanted to get some bulk walnuts but both of the dispensing bins got jammed up and even though I pounded on them and tried the old shakeroo, I could only coax about 1/4 lb into the bag. Hhmmm. No employees around to help. But I did find some good deals on a few things. Overall, I rate Walmart and Safeway higher for my particular "shopping experiences" - mostly because I know where everything is. If I had a family to feed, I'm sure WINCO would be a big savings because of the pasta, beans, grains, snack foods and other things in the bulk section. Their bakery and deli sections looked very nice.
I got a nice chuck roast for a good price.
I'll go back in a few weeks - at least I know where everything is.
That's it for right now. Make it a fabulous week! 😍
Reminder about the "Weekly Check-In" for those of you participating.

I'm slowly gaining the proper perspective on things. Once I bawled my eyes out from the emotions of it all, him by himself at a hospital, I could see straight. He's not dying, he's just dealing with a Crohn's flare up. He will get to feeling better. I need to be strong for him.💖👍🏼

Well every day is a bit better, went and picked up orders from Walmart and Sams..with Doris, then dropped her off and went and picked up Sean and got him some lunch and we went to Dollar General and he picked up a few things, but also stopped at the package store for root beer and a couple nippers.. this is not easy for me,and im not making excuses for him,but sheesh I dropped him off and no sooner had I left ,Jean showed up and took can openers, and shampoo, bath towels ,basically anything she damn well wants.. Sean just doesn't know what to do..he is working odd jobs with a couple buddies, but no prospect of anywhere to live..so there is that..
Im going to get some info on social services in town for him..I can only do so much, and I don't think having him living here with me would be the best idea.

Did Firm’s Jiggle Free Buns DVD then You Can Do Pilates DVD. Then walked to Food Lion since if you purchase $25 worth of produce (the fruit) you get $3 and they didn’t credit my account for the fruit purchase I made yesterday. So had that taken care of. Then went to Aldi since Vince needed milk and got a few other things. The one thing about these Firm videos is that I have to figure out how to use the step because I don’t have their “fanny lifter” and I’m not about to spend $30 for it.
Carla – I’m in awe how beautiful your cards are. Do you make you own Christmas cards?
Put the stakes in the ground to get ready to spray paint the poles. Sprayed the first batch of black ones. While they were drying, I had plants whose leaves were turning yellow. I had no idea what I was doing so the lady at the nursery suggested I put epson salt around them. What that does, I have no idea. But I did it. Helped get leaves out of the pool, went to the “mandatory” meeting at BK. For it being “mandatory” I was surprised how few people were there. Well, I shouldn’t have been surprised, seeings how there weren’t many people at the last “mandatory” meeting. As I expected, the only thing pertaining to me was the uniform, and that I wear. What surprised me was one manager said that you should come to work in full uniform. This I agree with. Then the store mgr. Said that she’d get a tote for people to put their hats and nametags in. To me, this is promoting someone not coming to work in full uniform. I did learn that they were getting a new dm, evidently he is more hands-on, which is good.
Just finished spraying the first batch of the orange ones. Honestly, some of them needed to be completely redone. I’ll probably go outside in an hour or so and bring them in. I’ll most likely do the rest of them tomorrow. So the orange ones will be done.

Hi ladies,
I had fun at the wedding. I will upload pictures soon. I worked all night Friday and slept from 9 am to 11 am. I took a shower and then took Rose to Petsmart for the night. Then, I picked DH up at the airport. Then, I had to pack quickly. We drove out to Hattiesburg, which is 2 hours away. DH was into the football draft, and I was into my book for the first half. Then, he wanted to listen to funny shows in the second half of the drive. We checked into our hotel, then I got dressed, and we finally arrived at the venue. I missed the best part. Most people believe the best part is the reception, but it is the wedding ceremony.
Anna Grace's mom came to me right away and said, "Oh, thank goodness you are here. AG was looking for her other mama. So, AG's mom told me that she didn't know how to do the bustle, and AG said, 'My other mama knows what to do, Mom.' 🤷♀️ So, I found the hooks to do the bustle, and I got a hug from my blond girl. She texted me this morning, thanking me for coming. We left our hotel right after breakfast. DH drove straight to the airport and was able to take an earlier flight. Now, he is on his way to Ohio. I drove straight home from the airport and went to bed. I left Rose at day camp. I had a blinding headache all day and slept until 4:30 pm. My head was better but not completely gone. I went to get Rose. I thought she would have been exhausted from playing. She is not tired at all. We played Tug of War, and she ran around excitedly. She even pawed at DS's door. I opened it so she could see he didn't come home. She whined a little and then went on with her mischief.
These headaches are terrible. I told DH I was ready to go by eight due to my headache starting; I wanted to get meds in me before it got out of hand. Today, it was out of hand. Thank goodness for my ice masks. Stay tuned for pictures. Michelle, that was so funny about you going to work so early. Beth, you should demand that they do your pool correctly. Money should be paid for quality work, not shotty work.
XO,
Mo in Mississippi

Heather - it sounds like a great day for you. I think you should let the salon post your book.
Thanks Terri - we call those inspections here, but it’s only for insurance if you want to move companies or if you sell here.
Rebecca - I love those cards. The umbrella one gave me an idea of using and umbrella theme for my Mom’s birthday on Thursday. So I looked on Pinterest for other umbrella ideas and put my own spin on one I saw.
This is what I came up with.I am the keeper of the family history on 3 sides of my family, in fairness though I have a couple other cousins that are also doing my dad’s paternal side.
Lisa - I loved the video of you on the tractor.
My geography is not up to par, I love that I can visualize where you are now.Ginny - it sounds like surgery was the right choice.
Michele - Color coded cloths are used for different tasks. Example, a green cloth could be used with harsh chemicals that even though washed could still carry enough traces that it can’t be used near food. We have different colours at work for this reason.
Debbie - how wonderful that the ambassador can speak to your MIL in her language.
Barbie - I bet the new trash can does the trick.
Vicki - it takes a lot out of us switching jobs later in life. I found it exhausting.
Lisa - Rodger has an attachment for his Jerry can that has a “pump” like a gas pump has. I’m not sure if they are a gravitational thing or not. The greenhouse idea is smart. The more you can save at the grocery store the better.
Heather - I love the photo.
You did such a wonderful job on your video, I shared it with my girls.Beth - Did you tell them you were displeased maybe they will repair it again.
Rebecca - I hope your son and you get some answers on Monday. It’s a long weekend of worry though.
Allie - The was thinking of Annie the other night. We were talking about how exhausting things are for the caregiver.
Pip - I hope your cruise is wonderful!
Machka - what a wonderful vacation, you deserve it.
Lisa - What an accomplishment you and Corey will have achieved! I’m with Corey about the fire. I wish I lived somewhere where we could have a backyard fire.
Carla - Cute cards.
Rita - I agree about working your way up. At least spend some time with different positions to understand it fully. Work alongside them for a day occasionally, and not the “best” employees go with different people.
Allie - here in Alberta Jean would be breaking the law. He would be entitled to financial support from her and a plan for the property to be divided equitably.
I thought for sure I posted last night, but I can’t find it. If it’s a repeat I apologize.
I picked Michaela up Saturday morning for a sleepover. We did some shopping, crafting, went to the park and watched a movie on Saturday. Today I made Mother’s Day cards, and three shirts.
Michaela designed her own, and weeded the vinyl, I just pressed it for her. She’s going to a reptile show with her Dad on Mother’s Day and this is what she’ll wear.I made one for Rodger it has a bad word, but I’m sure most of us would get a kick out of it.
Off for a nice long soak in the tub.
Tracey in EdmontonI can’t figure out how to get rid of the spoilers I put on.
