Allie. Sorry Sean is being a pain. I don't recall. We're he and Jean actually married? It seems like he should have more rights than it appears he has.
Quiet day here. Did some grocery shopping and watching Miss Scarlett. I know it's silly fantasy, but I still enjoy it. Very escapist.

Beautiful card work! You're so talented! Glad my cards gave you some ideas.
Youngest son had a contrasting dye MRI on his back, lying on his belly, on Friday he said. Hopefully that and the colonoscopy will give the doctors some answers on how much infection there is.

Today was a glorious salad for my main meal. I kind of went overboard with the ingredients in it but this was what it was:
The citrus salad container just has leftover white beans which I rinsed and put in. I had them in a bit of chicken stock. I left a 1/3 of the salad in the bowl, it was so filling! I put Marie's extra chunky bleu cheese dressing on it.😁
Then after I had a Celsius drink, an individual packet of heart healthy nuts, 2 prunes, and an individual packet of dark chocolate covered almonds with coffee with Truvia sweetener. Good day!
MMy world might be 80% out of my control, but I can control 100% of my eating. It gives me some security.👍🏼

no, that lady finally got kicked out last Sept.
She does have a couple that live in a motor home at the back of the property that both pay a little to stay there plus he does a lot of work around the property-he was out weedeating in the rain yesterday, did more today. She also has a guy that sleeps in the garage(she won't let anyone move in the house again after the last one). He doesn't speak really any English but mom's neighbor who is the boss of this guy translates when needed. There is stove, refrigerator and freezer in the garage and he put a bed in it. He had been staying in that ladies trailer beings she had wormed her way into the house and took my room. When she left, she took the trailer with no warning. David came home from working in the field all day and the trailer was gone and his clothes/belongings were in a box in the garage. He doesn't pay but he does help around the property too.He helped fill the trays/pots for us to plant in the greenhouse. He also helped dig up a bunch of asparagus plants for a friend of mom's who stopped by. Thankfully, Kelly spoke Spanish so she could explain not only what she needed help with but also what mom needs done with a few of the raised beds that are falling apart.
My friend came out today and helped me plant the greenhouse. We are planting about 2/3 of what we did last year and having her help made the day go by so fast. I think we got everything planted. Mom was busy pulling weeds in the second part of the greenhouse so Cheryl and I planted all of it. I planted by myself on Saturday while mom napped. It was raining so it was nice to listen to the rain.
We got to see a beautiful bluebird going into the birdhouse that dad had built and put on the side of the greenhouse. He LOVED all the birds. That is why he got the nick name Early Bird(his name was Earl)
We planted over 200 tomato seeds, 200+ gourd seeds plus ?? flats of cucumbers, squash, peppers, eggplant, flowers, herbs, melons, etcI plan on starting to go up one Tue/Wed over night a month along with one full weekend a month so I am there every other week to help out and just be up there.
Have to be up early tomorrow- going up to the VA and hopefully that appointment goes well.

Morning, kids,
Up too early - just before Cor's alarm went off, which often I don't even hear. Tomorrow's my next Skyrizi injection, so this last two weeks of early rising has been partially due to that gap, maybe. Or just… well, who knows.
Cleanup stuff.
Had a fall yesterday, but it was in the meadow, so landed on soft grass. Was able to twist around as I fell to take the impact on my butt, not even a bruise. Just got my feet tangled in the rope dangling from my little brush trailer. A moment of inattention. Makes Corey worry more, because of course, I squeaked as I went down. Involuntary minor scream. And of course he was also just 20 feet away.
But, he also came up to the carport after I dumped that load and did some fixing. I was backing up the trailer, which I am NOT good at and inadvertently ripped the hub out of a trailer wheel. He welded the hub back in AND welded the makeshift platform that he'd made for me to sit on top of my brush trailer, as well. The trailer is doubly solid now.
It won't help with the trailing ropes, that was my own fault. Made him feel better, though.
He got all the dry brush from both properties burned, plus we moved things that had been sitting, like my brother-in-law's trailer and Corey's old Ford truck, and got everything mowed on all of it. I'll be able to get to the last of the fence at the little house this morning, and possibly start picking up the trash from across the stream.
This is a birds-eye view of what we already owned (the two bits marked "Egg's Revocable Living Trust") and the bright green bit is the entirety of the three-quarter acre that the little house sits on. Our house is the gray blob at the bottom with a tiny yellow dot, the one that straddles the lines of the two parcels already in the trust.
Corey's headed off to work, and it's time for me to get some laundry going… At 83% humidity yesterday, I couldn't even hang anything on the line! Would have never got dry…
Love y'all!

How far is it from road to the back end of your property?
M in Oz

Lisa - that's close! I'm so glad you managed to get hold of that patch. One less thing to worry about.
Cleaner today. I might go out for a quick shop while she's here, but mainly my brain is thinking about my trip to Nottingham. What to wear for a long train journey, etc, etc. Washing everything I might possibly need. 🤣
Last night's dinner was Chinese chicken with black beans, with kale. Tonight is homemade pizza with leeks, mozzarella, and anchovies. This morning, John said, 'We must be eating the best food in England.' 😍 To be honest, I think he's right. 😜

Machka, it's an interesting question - along that one unbroken line on the south boundary, if I add up the survey lengths along that whole southern border of the property, I believe it's about 1600 feet/500 yards/490 meters… or so.
This land was part of the original small town in which we live, and this was a number of those 1+ acre tracts that were purchased together. The highlighted bit where the little house sits is part of the original piece and was split off in about 1960 to build a small, mother-in-law house. The pitiful thing that we are about to tear down.
Seriously, though, the surveyor's description for what is now under the trust runs for PAGES. The little house bit, on the other hand, is 3/4 of an acre, and the two pieces where our house sits comprise 11.3 acres.

About half a km length … I was just thinking that I'd be tempted to create a walking/jogging/cycling trail back and forth to a total of maybe 3 km. I might install a few extra things like some stairs and an incline bench for situps. My own personal training trail!
It's something I've thought about if I were to ever own a large piece of land. 😁

Machka … creating a walking/jogging/cycling trail would never enter my mind as a possibility for Lisa's property. That's highly indicative of my exercise/fitness level. I aspire to have a mindset more like yours.
The poor pool work … yes, we could ask the company to redo the work. When using another company several years ago (more like 15 years) … to fix the same area … we ran into a similar problem. The redo was worse than the original repair and they nearly destroyed an entire wall of the pool. We suspect the same thing will happen with this current job and fixing the entire wall because inexperienced masons are on site is out of our budget at this time. It's a sad commentary on the quality of workmanship today.
Bathroom Reno … spoke too soon. Hit a snag. Sink vanity top won't work on new vanity and needs returned/replaced. Vanity is missing some trim pieces. I can get matching paint and hide. All due to poor quality control issues. Sigh.
Funeral for a friend's mom today. A bit of a drive but it's promising to be a nice day so we'll enjoy the scenery.

Corey wants to do pretty much exactly that - it was part of the other reason for the tractor. You can see it's tree covered, and probably for a quarter of those trees nearest the house, the undergrowth is thick. But once you get past that point, it thins out considerably, lots of pine and cedar, very little hardwoods. And it rises the whole time.
Almost impossible to tell altitude, but it's definitely all uphill, we've hiked it more than once. He wants to put in a trail wide enough to drive a truck up to the highest part and build a cabin as far away from anyone else as he can get. Then to put in walking trails along the natural contours. More than one seasonal stream brings the water down, and it could be a lovely place. I think it's his plan for his retirement. I'm easy either way.

😀 Kitchen garbage can update: The new can arrived yesterday. While waiting I'd kept the original open can on the counter—unsightly and probably unsanitary but very convenient. The new can was too tall for the space under the sink because of the pipes. I considered sending the can back and hoping I could choose a better replacement but was uncertain about my ability to figure out the dimensions without opting for something too small. Then i realized that since I live alone, I could do whatever I want and put the new can in the broom closet a few steps away from the sink and moved the dog food container from the broom closet to under the kitchen sink. I am delighted with my decision. It works for me. Annie can't open the broom closet and even if she could, she can't step on the foot pedal and get into the can.

Lisa ~ Y'all have a lot of land. It will make a nice retreat some day for Cory.
Beth ~ Sorry about the bath fixtures and know that must be disappointing. Hope you can get the right ones without too much trouble.
Tracey ~ Your cards are beautiful as well as every craft you have ever shown.
MO ~ Glad you had fun at the wedding but that trip sounds very tiring. Sorry about the headaches. I get sinus headaches but never have had a migraine. Guess I'm lucky in that respect.
I have decided I hate broccoli and cauliflower. I have made it every way I can think of (fresh and frozen) and it never taste that great. 😪

I got a couple birding books and one is a ‘Lifetime’ diary to log the birds you see in. I put all the birds I’ve identified since I started on this RV adventure and have 42 different types logged so far. I had previously used an app from Audobon and added another app that works by listening to the bird song to identify the birds. I was surprised at how many I had logged already. So yesterday, I took a long walk in what we call the Bluff Trail looking for different birds. This is my newest hobby of the 12 I plan to try this year. I am happy I got the books!
Thought for today:
Did you hear about the circus fire?
It was in tents!

Middle son sent photos of Eli's first haircut. He wasn't thrilled with the sound of the clippers, but at least there wasn't any tears or hog tying involved!🙃👍🏼😁

😕 Carol, I tried long and hard to like broccoli and cauliflower and gave up just like you. Now I buy frozen green beans and frozen mixed vegetables and mix them together and find them delicious. I also buy grape tomatoes and eat them as snacks.
😀 Lisa, the plans for your property sound great. In our 50s we had five acres in the country that Jake farmed. It was a wonderful chapter in our lives.
😥 Beth, sorry to hear about the bumps in the road of your bathroom project.
🌨️ Drizzle today so I'll probably work indoors on one of the never ending projects or else just ride my exercise bike, knit, watch TV, and eat ice cream.

Finals week this week. Phew! Almost done. I have only one summer class, so my only weekly obligation is on Mondays.
I only enjoy broccoli and cauliflower raw, or smothered in cheese. I still fix it. Stir fry broccoli is okay, and I like cauliflower riced. But honestly, does cauliflower have any flavor? I mean, besides 🤢? And fresh cauliflower goes bad so quickly. I'm sympathizing here. I don't buy frozen of them anymore because I absolutely hate the stems, and any more, the frozen varieties are half stems. My youngest likes broccoli, even the stems. I do not comprehend.
Better get going. I have some grading I promised to get done before my first final this morning.

Rebecca - Oh my, how fast they grow! It seems only yesterday Eli was born. 😍 The son I am going to see in Nottingham will be 49 in November. Only one year off being able to go on a Saga holiday! He was a blonde haired toddler only the other day. 😲 John's daughters are well into their 50s. How did all this happen? I haven't got any older, have I?
I've been revising the irregular past tenses, in Spanish, on Duolingo. Not my strong point. I always used to use the present perfect, because it was much easier, but I'm grasping that particular nettle now. Oouuff! I use the free version of Duolingo, so it's vital I don't make too many mistakes. (You are only allowed 5 per day) Much checking required. 🤯

I should do that with the ones I see at the wetlands. There are soooo many, especially spring time when there is a low tide. Low tide brings all the little water birds-love the least sandpipers, soo cute!!.
The other side of the wetlands are the song birds- swallow, bluebirds, red-wing black birds, canary, sparrows, phoebe, etc
Pairs of swans are starting to nest in at least 2 possible 3 places- looking forward to babiesDebbie

Broccoli is one of my favorites but has to be steamed just right, not raw and not mushy. Son loves it too- dh is not a big fan- oh well, he doesn't eat many veggies anyways.
Got up early, got dressed fed the cats while dh was in the bathroom. While he was in the shower, his phone rings so he answers it- it is the VA canceling the appointment we have and the reason we are up early, that was made 2 1/2 months ago. He did talk to them and they took some of his information and will send him some paperwork to fill out and return that will be reviewed. The guy said it could take up to a year to be approved(I had told him before he should have started this process eariler but he didn't listen of course but cant remind him of that) and he couldn't tell dh if she does qualify for assistance, how much it will be. Will have to wait- He says she will be dead before she is approved . Yep- Mr. Pessistic as always.
No clue what we are doing today. A friend of his is going over with him to see his mom at 2(unless he cancels again like he did Friday)
He is upset with ds because ds told him yesterday that they are not going to be able to afford the amount of rent that they talked about. Ds thought he would be at a different job by now(passed the welders union tests and is just waiting). They can't live there for free but they have to figure out how much they can pay.
Hopefully his mood changes soon.
I plan on working in my garden while he is with his friend.
No class tonight so I can work out there as long as I wantGoing to go walk the dog and feed him. After that, ???
Have a wonderful Monday Ladies

And Carol, wasn't it Bush senior who said he had never liked broccoli, and "since I am the president, I don't have to eat it anymore!" 😆 I think you are entitled to the same sentiment, even if you aren't the president!

Debbie, DH might not be pessimistic, in this case, just realistic. I assume, however, that they would back date the benefits, so it is still worth it.
I get his hesitancy. I still have a couple minor things to do with my mom's estate, and I hate doing it. I hate having to tell yet another person that she has passed. It's just hard.
Take care

Husband took me to Rite aid at 9 to check my blood pressure. 109/72
I was going to open my eating window at noon with 20 hours faster but decided to open it at 10 am with 18 hours fasted. Change is just another word for listening to my body and how it feels.
Started with a small bag of nuts, then 2 prune onesies, and made a Boboli pizza with Jimmy Dean's sausage crumbles, mozzarella cheese, Rao's sauce, and black olives. It is just delightful! Later I might have some turkey and cheese melted on a Wassa' crisp bread. To end is my chocolate covered almonds with coffee and Truvia sweetener. That will be about 4 pm and I will close my eating window. Oh I have some mandarin oranges too.
Hugs ladies!
Hoping to hear from youngest son sometime today.💖

Yes Heather, they grow too quickly! I was glad to see Eli's hair get clipped. Last visit his hair was creating complete circles of curls. Great on a little girl, little boy not so much.😁💖
