don't look at strength training for calorie burn it really doesn't burn that much. You're gonna want to look more at your diet at your weight. You can run a large weekly calorie deficit that will allow for a 2lb loss of fat per week. Some people at your weight will get more aggressive than that though.

The strength training is important for you to keep the muscle that you have now as when you're at a deficit, especially a decent size one your body will want to also burn muscle so you want to prevent that as much as possible.

Weight loss is done primarily through what you eat, exercise is more for health and to maintain or build muscle. That said, cardio does burn more calories than strength training. At your weight, you want to ease into it if you haven't been active for a while. Eliptical, exercise bike or walking are fairly easy on the body and will allow you to build endurance at your own pace.
