Look at my 14 year old grandchild!!!!

Max did all that digging and weeding in the garden to earn money for a new game thing and a keyboard. It was a jungle before!

He is coming home early from school so we can eat the brownies together.

Day 2 of Learn to Swim classes. Today, I learned the Survival Backstroke.

Margaret and Barbara, don't worry … I'm not heading into the ocean yet!! My work colleagues are excited for me and they've got way ahead of me with all their ocean swimming plans. 😂

I haven't put my face in the water yet. The very idea freaks me out. Thankfully, today's lesson didn't have us doing that yet. Maybe next week.

I know the theory behind putting my face in the water … more streamlined and all … but I think it's almost like feeling a little claustrophobic. A little voice tells me that if I put my face in the water, I could drown.

Nevertheless, the survival backstroke and regular backstroke both feel comfortable. It's a start.

Mo - My best friend's mom died unexpectedly during the pandemic, which carried its own set of grief, as they couldn't be with her. Her dad is the one who died April 15. The prolonged goodbye of an expected death seems even harder to me than a quick one, but neither is good, is it. I talked to my daughter and my friend yesterday, separately, and both just raved over how much they enjoyed each other. Last night they were headed for a luau. I'm sorry about your husband's job - but isn't that why you were going to Chicago, because he was employed there? Your moment of Egg-zen-tricity: 😺🐈‍⬛🐱

Heather - Love the cards, love the sentiment, and Max seems to have all the best of his mom's and his dad's looks. Can't believe he's 14! Enjoy the brownies…

Kim - So glad you let us know what's up with your brother. I can't imagine that your mother is dealing with it well, as I know she's attached to him. Thinking about you.

I was up late last night and read Kim's message - and when I fell asleep promptly dreamed about my own brother, who just turned 70. The one with brain cancer. He looked an awful lot like Caillou. The one I haven't spoken to in more than 20 years, but whose son and daughter attended my wedding to Corey. The mind is a very strange thing.

Up late because I had the worst flare I've had in well over a year, lots of cleanup and laundry involved… And was so terrified that I would have another accident if I fell asleep that I just got back up. Curled up in my recliner, read a book, calmed my mind, and finally went back to bed and fell asleep around midnight.

Now that it's made it up over 60 degrees (16 c), I've got to pop outside and do some brush hauling. That one bit of tree I couldn't get cut for love nor money, Corey came in with the big chainsaw, and in 15 minutes, had it all down and ready to be hauled this morning. By the time he was done, it was four feet high of brush in a half-circle around him, he had to wade out!

Anyway, time to get moving, rain's supposed to be here in two hours now. Then into town at 1 p.m. to get my oil changed.

    Love y'all,

Kim - sending hugs! Your brother….. yes, maybe he will have more compassion now for people with disabilities. Your nephew is a gem!

Heather - thank you for the neat glimpse of "where we met". Love that you celebrate it every year.

Lisa - sorry about the rough nice. Hope things are much better today.

Mo - so much going on for you so quickly. Hope your DH can find a new and better job in short order. What a mess about the proceeds from the property sale. Sending strength and prayers it all works out. Also sorry to hear about your mom's dementia.

Ginny - I get it. Your future retirement home will be fine and will provide you with what you need and want at this stage of your life. Hope the drive to the doc is easy for ya.

Kylia - thanks for the quick stop-in. We know it's the busy season at work and at home with the mowing and yardwork.

Debbie - what type/size of containers do you plant your tomatoes in? Last year I used 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage. Will probably use some of those again this year. Still wavering though - I need to figure out spots that will get plenty of sunshine all day, and the evergreens are getting so tall east and west of my preferred planting areas, ideal planting areas are becoming limited.

I was on a roll yesterday. High temp was 72F, perfect for working outside. So I got another weed sprayer going and went after the rest of the dandelions in the driveway, then did more cleanup with the weed eater, and THEN hopped on the mower and got everything finished. I was done in time to make it to the diabetes prevention Zoom class. Glad I did, this was a good one.

Collette is here right now with Rosie "helping". 😁 It's supposed to get up to 80 today - may do more spraying today and work with the tomatoes a bit.

I love swimming and cant wait for AquaZumba to start so I can swim laps before and after class BUT, I do NOT put my face under water. Not because it is in my face but I can't stand water in my ears.
I know, I can get ear plugs, I just tend to swim with my head up

When I first learned to swim as a little kid, I remember them having us "face float". Just head in the water and lay there and float- not sure why but i would roll over every time. It was so funny to me. Not so much to the teachers.
I am not a great swimmer but I do love it

that size is ok, just need to remember to water more often and add some fertilizer.
Most of mine are in at least 10gal. Some I think they are 15 gal. They are the ones that large trees come in I think.
I had one I put in a 5 gal container last year- it was the last pot I had available. That tomato plant got well over 5' tall and all over the place. I had a cage on it but it was too small. I had never planted that kind before-friend gave it to me. It produced more than any other plant I had.

Had a productive day- woke up early. First time at 6:30 when the stray cat was fighting with our inside cats who were in the catio. I went out to scare him off. Saw that it was really nice out. Did go back to sleep but when I did get up I went out and worked in my garden until dh woke up. First 6 tomatoes are planted in the large raised bed. I got 3 LunchBox peppers planted in one of the small ones, got the second large bed almost weeded. I can finish that tomorrow. Not a big rush as the cucumbers go in there and they can stay in the greenhouse a bit longer. Transplanted half dozen tomatoes from red cups(bought those plants) into larger containers to take to mom and transplanted the peppers I bought into a small planter- to be transplanted in the garden soon. ALso transplanted some tiny tomato plants(BeefSteak) that I planted way too many seeds in each spot.
I counted all the different kinds of tomatoes I have. I have 19!! I want to find room for one of each kind ;)
I have multiples of many of them. I have no idea where I will plant all of them. I will take some of the extras to mom and share with friends.
Found out my son wants my hot pepper plants to plant over at the other house so that is good. We will plant tomatoes(cherry only) and cucumbers over there too.

After we ran errands and stopped for lunch- Taco Tuesday(tacos and mixed civeche tostada-the octopus was so tender along with the shrimp with lots of crunchy cucumbers- it was great. We split that.
Came home, washed the dishes then washed the cat- the old grandma cat needs a bath at least once a week. Thankfully she doesn't mind it, seems to like the warm water on her old bones.
After that I cleaned out the catio litter box. It is the kids old Little Tikes playhouse. I put a 40lb bag of pine pellets in there. Took 12 buckets full of waste out of it. It will be good for quite a while. : Love the way it smells- the more they pee on it, the better it smells.

Picked up a xl cheese pizza at Walmart- added mushrooms, prosciutto, salami and extra cheese(pesto on my 1/4. Pizza was just $4. Toppings I had on hand. All four of us ate and have some left over which dh will take with him to work tonight.

I keep getting requests to join our highschool class group on Facebook-
I get one at least every other day, asking to join. Every single one is a "digital creator"

This is a group just for our graduating class- WHY would anyone want to join if they were not a part of the class.
I know they are fake accounts but just annoying to have them pop up all the time. I just delete them.

I've emailed my ex, wishing him well, and my Member of Parliament about an upcoming important vote. I've ordered meds from the doctor. I've texted my painter about paint colours for starting Monday. (I only changed my mind about colours yesterday) I've chatted with G. So a decent morning. I must WhatsApp my brother about a visit to him.

    Done.😁

    All good. Heather UK xxxxxxxx
