Mo - That's a lot to deal with. Hugs.💕
These are our cards. John's one to me is the London Underground route we both took to meet each other! 🤩 Mine I made behind a screen when Edie was here. Inside it says, '22 years of light and hearts'. Edie said it was 'weird -in a good way'. It's a collage. The colours are brighter IRL.
John gave me a couple of great presents, but also some cushion covers, which he thought might work for my new bedroom. He knew it was a risk, and said he wouldn't be offended if I didn't like them. I thought they were nice, but I am an 'aesthetic tyrant' and mega fussy about decor choices. So, I lovingly rejected them. They are Amazon, so he still has a return window. I don't think he was more than a little upset. 💔
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Look at my 14 year old grandchild!!!!
Max did all that digging and weeding in the garden to earn money for a new game thing and a keyboard. It was a jungle before!
He is coming home early from school so we can eat the brownies together.

Kylia - nice to hear from you! I think our weight can ebb and flow - I'm going for the lifetime average!
Allie - very good news on kidney. Hope Sean can get some things sorted out soon
Kim - hope this is a wake up call for your brother. Good luck to you and family in coping.
Mo - you certainly seem to have a full plate. Do you think DH will have much trouble find a new position?
Pip- enjoy the cruise! Sorry for friend's pet loss.
Heather - happy meeting anniversary.
Regarding living arrangements and costs. The independent living facility I am moving to is costing more than staying in my house that is paid off. However, when I factor a rental cost in areas I want to move to and all associated costs (utilities, food, transportation, activities, it is really not hateful). I also think I will function better in a community since I have a tendency to isolate. I can always move somewhere else but think it is a good first step for me moving on and redefining my life.
Busy day today. This am go to primary care-need to get bloodwork and colonoscopy scheduled. This afternoon off to OSU for X-ray, stitch removal and check up on surgery. Had lots of weird twinges yesterday-no doubt part of healing but good timing to get it checked. Hoping my energy stays up for the driving and walking. Will be a good test.
Take care all,

Day 2 of Learn to Swim classes. Today, I learned the Survival Backstroke.
Margaret and Barbara, don't worry … I'm not heading into the ocean yet!! My work colleagues are excited for me and they've got way ahead of me with all their ocean swimming plans. 😂
I haven't put my face in the water yet. The very idea freaks me out. Thankfully, today's lesson didn't have us doing that yet. Maybe next week.
I know the theory behind putting my face in the water … more streamlined and all … but I think it's almost like feeling a little claustrophobic. A little voice tells me that if I put my face in the water, I could drown.
Nevertheless, the survival backstroke and regular backstroke both feel comfortable. It's a start.

Mo - My best friend's mom died unexpectedly during the pandemic, which carried its own set of grief, as they couldn't be with her. Her dad is the one who died April 15. The prolonged goodbye of an expected death seems even harder to me than a quick one, but neither is good, is it. I talked to my daughter and my friend yesterday, separately, and both just raved over how much they enjoyed each other. Last night they were headed for a luau. I'm sorry about your husband's job - but isn't that why you were going to Chicago, because he was employed there? Your moment of Egg-zen-tricity: 😺🐈⬛🐱
Heather - Love the cards, love the sentiment, and Max seems to have all the best of his mom's and his dad's looks. Can't believe he's 14! Enjoy the brownies…
Kim - So glad you let us know what's up with your brother. I can't imagine that your mother is dealing with it well, as I know she's attached to him. Thinking about you.
I was up late last night and read Kim's message - and when I fell asleep promptly dreamed about my own brother, who just turned 70. The one with brain cancer. He looked an awful lot like Caillou. The one I haven't spoken to in more than 20 years, but whose son and daughter attended my wedding to Corey. The mind is a very strange thing.
Up late because I had the worst flare I've had in well over a year, lots of cleanup and laundry involved… And was so terrified that I would have another accident if I fell asleep that I just got back up. Curled up in my recliner, read a book, calmed my mind, and finally went back to bed and fell asleep around midnight.
Now that it's made it up over 60 degrees (16 c), I've got to pop outside and do some brush hauling. That one bit of tree I couldn't get cut for love nor money, Corey came in with the big chainsaw, and in 15 minutes, had it all down and ready to be hauled this morning. By the time he was done, it was four feet high of brush in a half-circle around him, he had to wade out!
Anyway, time to get moving, rain's supposed to be here in two hours now. Then into town at 1 p.m. to get my oil changed.
Love y'all,

Debbie I am trying to pace myself as there is 10 gardening chores to do at once. We just had a string of nights in he 50's so it is time to clean up and of course I want to start planting too. A bit early our last official freeze date is May15th. It looks like we will not have another freeze now. I have plants some and it if does get cold again I have lots of old sheets and green house tarps to cover my plants. I am trying to have my herbs in a wire crate I used to use for DrewB. I had so much trouble with squirrels getting into them last year. So far so good. I love fresh herbs in my cooking and salads!
Picture is from last year…I hope to walk Thursday afternoon by my friends house where the park near her is full of the crabapple trees in bloom.
I got the idea for the crate from Facebook!

Well yesterday doctor said, "don't take the med from dermatologist". So I quit it this morning. My appointment with the dermatologist is Friday, so he can see my blood pressure stats, and see how I was doing with it. I guess that will be a fun conversation, hey primary doctors orders trumps specialist doctors! I did talk to primary doctor yesterday about getting something to help me shed some lbs. Not that I want a quick fix, just getting tired of carrying this extra weight around. Like a grocery bag I have been carrying around all my life. He said once he gets my lab work back he will have a virtual appointment with me to discuss options. I am seeing a nutritionist at the clinic there mostly to " check off all the boxes" Tricare insurance wise. I explained that I do enjoy IF so hopefully she'll be onboard with that. My appointment with her isn't until 20th. I need to log all my food a week prior. Then my mamogram is 23rd. Busy rest of the month, medically speaking.
Chatted with my eldest sister and she has started something to help her lose weight, as well as her daughter. Interesting how we all are going to be doing something. So this might be the year of change for all three of us. That's exciting! She explained her first shot was "interesting". She didn't realize the toughness of skin generally speaking. I'm hoping I get a med that's like an eppi pen sort of deal. We'll see!
Last nights dinner was splendid and it was made mostly by husband. He made us both baked potatoes, and I had part of the large steak he cooked. I used the pan he cooked the steak in to melt some Velveeta with a splash of milk getting up all the spices from the pan. Then I had bought a microwavable bag of broccoli bits and I put that on top of my baked potato, putting the cheese mixture on top. It was just amazing! I really am awful in preparing broccoli so these bags just take out the guesswork. I will definitely be making that the next time he wants to fix baked potatoes.💖

Hugs to everyone who needs one - I started listing a few folks and realized there were too many of you.
Mo, could your DH find a job where you are so that you don’t have to move? I’m sorry I can’t remember the back story as to how you started living this way in the first place.
Beth, I’m sorry your mother seems to be sundowning again. It’s a tough season of life, for sure.
Kim, I hope this is a wake-up call for your brother.
My mother seems to be coping as well as can be expected. My sister being here is helping. I will have to step up more once she goes home, but I’m taking my time at home right now. I’ve been working on the front of the house - new cushions for swing and rockers, new mulch for the landscaping, cleaning pollen off everything. I still need a wreath for the door. I’ll post a picture when it’s finished.
Pip, enjoy your cruise.8 -
A few of you mentioned we should stay here to host, we asked. They do not have a host as it is a very small city campground. We will just visit every 6 months unless/until we decide to go cross country again (fingers crossed soon!). We have to get a newer camper first. Our plan is to visit everyone we know who live all over the US. Fun times!
Finished blanket yesterday. This is not the best picture, but small space and other things made it very hard to spread out. Fits the bed!
New craft tonight! I’ve got a few kits so will pick one of those. Going to NP (primary care) today for yearly Medicare check up then probably Walmart for meds and PO. All about 15 miles from here. Just a ‘little’ closer than where we were at bottomless.
Thought for today:
You are an American when you go into the bathroom and an American when you get out, but do you know what you are while you are inside?

Kim - sending hugs! Your brother….. yes, maybe he will have more compassion now for people with disabilities. Your nephew is a gem!
Heather - thank you for the neat glimpse of "where we met". Love that you celebrate it every year.
Lisa - sorry about the rough nice. Hope things are much better today.
Mo - so much going on for you so quickly. Hope your DH can find a new and better job in short order. What a mess about the proceeds from the property sale. Sending strength and prayers it all works out. Also sorry to hear about your mom's dementia.
Ginny - I get it. Your future retirement home will be fine and will provide you with what you need and want at this stage of your life. Hope the drive to the doc is easy for ya.
Kylia - thanks for the quick stop-in. We know it's the busy season at work and at home with the mowing and yardwork.
Debbie - what type/size of containers do you plant your tomatoes in? Last year I used 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage. Will probably use some of those again this year. Still wavering though - I need to figure out spots that will get plenty of sunshine all day, and the evergreens are getting so tall east and west of my preferred planting areas, ideal planting areas are becoming limited.
I was on a roll yesterday. High temp was 72F, perfect for working outside. So I got another weed sprayer going and went after the rest of the dandelions in the driveway, then did more cleanup with the weed eater, and THEN hopped on the mower and got everything finished. I was done in time to make it to the diabetes prevention Zoom class. Glad I did, this was a good one.
Collette is here right now with Rosie "helping". 😁 It's supposed to get up to 80 today - may do more spraying today and work with the tomatoes a bit.

🌻 This is the lawn I cut with my battery powered mower. Yesterday it took 20 minutes from walking out the door to putting the battery on the charger when the mowing was finished. We bought this house in 2011 when Jake announced "I'm done with yard work." There's just enough to do to make it a hobby rather than a chore.
😢 I just noticed that the forces that made eggs scare and expensive is now doing the same thing to turkey. I may have to seek an alternative to the turkey burgers I have for supper.

Just finished watching three seasons of Whitstable Pearl, a murder mystery series set on the British coast, on Acorn TV. They're the same folks that carry the Australian series, The Brokenwood Mysteries, which has a new season just begun, as well.
The rain's well begun - but before it did I got to provide an assist with my little tractor to pull the back porch and deck off the little house. Two tries and it was flat as a flitter.
I love my life. And have found that I'm actually much better at destruction than construction. 😉🐈⬛😻
Oil change is done for another 7500 miles, and I'm back home listening to the rain and the dishwasher running, as I forgot to get it going before I left.
I've got to get my daughter's Mother's Day gift in the mail to her tomorrow, spaced out taking that with me, as well. Nothing much, but I seldom send her anything, so she'll be surprised. May not make it by Mother's Day, but it might. For some reason, I thought it was later in the month!
Later, my darlin's,

I love swimming and cant wait for AquaZumba to start so I can swim laps before and after class BUT, I do NOT put my face under water. Not because it is in my face but I can't stand water in my ears.
I know, I can get ear plugs, I just tend to swim with my head upWhen I first learned to swim as a little kid, I remember them having us "face float". Just head in the water and lay there and float- not sure why but i would roll over every time. It was so funny to me. Not so much to the teachers.
I am not a great swimmer but I do love it4 -
Deb – I go to WalMart on Sundays but really early in the morning. When I go, most people are in church so there are very few customers. how I wish with all my might that we had AquaZumba.
After work got my oil changed, then we cut the cat’s nails. Got yogurt in the IP
Barbara – I just checked weather.com and it says “PM thunderstorms”. Hope that means that I can lay out in the morning. No, I take that back...I WILL lay by the pool in the morning. Maybe now I can go in...sure I can You sound like me about the gardening. Not good on the watering. I must say, tho, that I’m OCD about weeds...I see one and I have to pull it
kylia – that’s wonderful that you’re still nicotine free
kim – how scary! Glad you were there for everyone. You’re so right...you don’t choose to be disabled.
Heather – loved reading (and seeing) how you and Johnny met
Mo – I’m so very sorry for your dh and you. What a blow! I hope he can find a new job quickly
I keep getting friend requests from the same guy. These MFP bots don’t even have enough sense to use different names for the same people!
Rita – when you go crosscountry, be sure to stop in NC!!! Prebowled for when we’re in FL, then Vince went to get his ProTine test, then bought lounge chairs for by the pool. They don’t look “cheap” mainly because they weren’t. We’re having them delivered since they’ll put them down by the pool area. We probably would have struggled
Just finished my walk around the block. Think I’ll watch some TV then take a shower. After tomorrow, no work until Tuesday

that size is ok, just need to remember to water more often and add some fertilizer.
Most of mine are in at least 10gal. Some I think they are 15 gal. They are the ones that large trees come in I think.
I had one I put in a 5 gal container last year- it was the last pot I had available. That tomato plant got well over 5' tall and all over the place. I had a cage on it but it was too small. I had never planted that kind before-friend gave it to me. It produced more than any other plant I had.3 -
Had a productive day- woke up early. First time at 6:30 when the stray cat was fighting with our inside cats who were in the catio. I went out to scare him off. Saw that it was really nice out. Did go back to sleep but when I did get up I went out and worked in my garden until dh woke up. First 6 tomatoes are planted in the large raised bed. I got 3 LunchBox peppers planted in one of the small ones, got the second large bed almost weeded. I can finish that tomorrow. Not a big rush as the cucumbers go in there and they can stay in the greenhouse a bit longer. Transplanted half dozen tomatoes from red cups(bought those plants) into larger containers to take to mom and transplanted the peppers I bought into a small planter- to be transplanted in the garden soon. ALso transplanted some tiny tomato plants(BeefSteak) that I planted way too many seeds in each spot.
I counted all the different kinds of tomatoes I have. I have 19!! I want to find room for one of each kind ;)
I have multiples of many of them. I have no idea where I will plant all of them. I will take some of the extras to mom and share with friends.
Found out my son wants my hot pepper plants to plant over at the other house so that is good. We will plant tomatoes(cherry only) and cucumbers over there too. After we ran errands and stopped for lunch- Taco Tuesday(tacos and mixed civeche tostada-the octopus was so tender along with the shrimp with lots of crunchy cucumbers- it was great. We split that.
Came home, washed the dishes then washed the cat- the old grandma cat needs a bath at least once a week. Thankfully she doesn't mind it, seems to like the warm water on her old bones.
After that I cleaned out the catio litter box. It is the kids old Little Tikes playhouse. I put a 40lb bag of pine pellets in there. Took 12 buckets full of waste out of it. It will be good for quite a while. : Love the way it smells- the more they pee on it, the better it smells.Picked up a xl cheese pizza at Walmart- added mushrooms, prosciutto, salami and extra cheese(pesto on my 1/4. Pizza was just $4. Toppings I had on hand. All four of us ate and have some left over which dh will take with him to work tonight.

I keep getting requests to join our highschool class group on Facebook-
I get one at least every other day, asking to join. Every single one is a "digital creator"This is a group just for our graduating class- WHY would anyone want to join if they were not a part of the class.
I know they are fake accounts but just annoying to have them pop up all the time. I just delete them.1 -
Rebecca - my friend that just left this morning was just prescribed the weight loss drug that starts with W. she is waiting until her driving days are done and she’s settled before starting.
Rita - it sounds like you like this new campground.
Beth - it’s so hard watching our parents decline.
Lisa - I would be so over the moon excited my friend got to spend time with my daughter and her family and also so extremely jealous.
So sorry you had a rough patch, I hope that was the last kick at the can for you.Heather - What a handsome grandson! We were blessed with Grandsons the same year.
Happy anniversary!Allie - I sure hope Sean gets a lawyer.
He has to have rights.Kim - the biggest hugs to you.
Mo - sorry about DH’s job. Is there a lot of opportunity around his area?
On swimming - I went to the pool Saturday evening for 2 hours. I didn’t swim a lot of laps but I remembered how and even went in the deep end! I can’t swim without keeping my face in the water. I struggle to get breaths in because I panic when I have to stick my face out to breathe. 😂
Michele - I find all the male friend requests so frustrating MFP really should make it so we can block them from asking more than once. Some I have declined several times.
Pip - I am so excited for your cruise for you. It’s the only cruise I ever want to take.
My friend left today. I’ll miss her, but it’s also nice to just be me tonight and do what I normally do.
Very tired.

Hello everyone;
I feel as though I am grieving. DH will get another job, yet DH has already applied to many companies. I didn't sleep well last night. I slept after breakfast but only ate one slice of lunch meat. When I got up, I read some of Heather's books. So far, they are thought-provoking. The book provided me with an escape from my reality. I have had headaches during the night and some today. I wonder if I have chronic sinusitis. I have stabbing right eye pain. I get to see my doctor next month. I will let her know. She wants me to see a neurologist. I didn't see my mom today due to my mood. I paid bills, did laundry, did a pharmacy run and groceries, and took Rose to get her treats. I got home before the heavy rain. Now my dishwasher is running.
It was hard to find something in Mississippi, plus he purchased the condo in Chicago. All we have to pay is the HOA fees. The house that I live in is too big now. My family lives in Chicago. We would save a lot of money. My friends are excited about returning to the "U." I can care for patients anywhere. I do want to work at UMMC PRN. I am ready to go in some ways, but I am not ready to rush. I want to keep my doctors as well.
Pip, I can't wait to take an Alaskan Cruise. Keep the pictures coming, and most importantly, "Have Fun!"
Barbie is the perfect-sized yard for your pups.
Lanette, I will explain to my aunt that getting a lawyer for that small amount isn't worth it. If they sell the rest of the property, my other aunt is not entitled to it, so we will not worry about it. My mom doesn't know, so it is okay. The rest of the problems will work itself out. I just felt sorry for DH because he tried so hard. It hurts my feelings for him. I am sensitive.
I need to fold these clothes and lay out my scrubs for the work week. I work Wednesday and Thursday(off) and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
XO,
Mo in Mississippi

Yesterday was lovely, but I did find all the walking quite hard. I really have to up my game on the cardio and strengthening my back. I did over 2 miles, some of it uphill, but I was in quite a lot of discomfort by the end. Still, it was good for me!
At The Regency, John had hake, and I had skate. Both in caper sauce. We shared a small portion of chips (fries) and a salad. We finished off with an Afogato, which was probably a mistake. 😋☺️ It was all lovely, as always, but it's s a long trek back up the hill with a full stomach! We had a quick walk around M&S, but they didn't have my size in underwear, in the style I like. Usual story. Bus up to the school, where I introduced John to my usual haunt - Waitrose. We bought chicory, and potted shrimp, and just admired the guinea fowl and the huge rib of beef. I will put guinea fowl on my next order. I had a glass of water in the café.
Then down the hill to the school, by which time i was struggling and still over full. Bea played for a while and then we walked back to their place. Oouuff! The brownies were enjoyed by all. Thankfully, they had turned out fine. 😄 My son brought us home, with Edie in her dry robe, who was on her way to swimming, in the opposite direction. What a performance for the parents! The traffic is awful at that time of day. Bea had already left with her mother, to a different swimming venue.
We leisurely enjoyed our light gourmet snacks for the evening, watching Scott and Bailey, and Place in the Sun. The Bollinger was gorgeous. I was very uncomfortable when I went to bed; early for me. So, time to get serious. I want to be able to walk about without discomfort.
Lisa - Sorry to hear about the episode. 😣
Mo - sending more hugs. A difficult season, but it will pass. 💞
My ex is back in hospital with another infection. He is so thin and can hardly walk. The dialysis site is playing up. Not good news. I will email him today.

I've emailed my ex, wishing him well, and my Member of Parliament about an upcoming important vote. I've ordered meds from the doctor. I've texted my painter about paint colours for starting Monday. (I only changed my mind about colours yesterday) I've chatted with G. So a decent morning. I must WhatsApp my brother about a visit to him.
Done.😁
All good. Heather UK xxxxxxxx

You're kind of in the wrong neighbourhood to dislike Mexican food, aren't you? 😁
I love it!! 😍
After my swimming lessons, my husband and I go to one of the few places in the area where we can get a burrito for dinner.
I'm glad you've got these 2 weeks in the new place. Seeing new scenery and even being close to conveniences like a bit of shopping can be a breath of fresh air and can lift the mood.
