Lost 8.4lbs in less then a week

II just started my journey. I bike ride, since I started 5 days ago i have lost 8.4lbs i also tried the intermediate fasting and succeeded yesterday. I weighed 125. Lbs at the beginning. I am extremely happy to have lost 8.4 lbs so far. I love this app. And I'm meeting new people, which is a great motivator something i think everybody needs from time to time. I'm also excepting all friend requests to talk and for motivation. 😁

That was water weight

How tall are you?
Tom's right, a big chunk of initial fast lost is almost certainly water weight.
But if you weigh 125 pounds, losing fat faster than half a pound a week is aggressively fast . . . likely a health risk, possibly a serious risk. A pound a week might be OK if young, ultra-healthy, with a low stress life and a plan to lose for only maybe a month-ish . . . maybe. But half a pound a week would be better.
I'm not trying to be a buzzkill. I just appreciate seeing everyone stay healthy while achieving bodyweight goals.

Great start!
To add some vowels to Tom's words, weight fluctuates. Not just because of fat level changes but for many more reasons too. To really see the underlying weight trend you need a number of observations (weight-ins) over a long enough time period (a good six to eight weeks)
This doesn't stop a great start from being a great start!
As long as it is a start in the pursuit of appropriate goals.
On the concern front, we have very little information so far to be able to comfortably join in your exuberant celebration!
It sounds like you are female and not very tall. But, in general, people weighing 125lbs would be unlikely to have a lot of fat available to lose.
So that though does stray through one's mind!
Best of wishes in reaching your, no doubt, appropriate and healthy goals!

Enjoy the water weight drop, I know I did!
That initial reduction in bloat and feeling lighter made a huge difference in keeping me focused during the first month.
But just a heads up: once the water weight is gone, the real fat loss begins, and it looks a little different. It slows down, and that’s completely normal.
You can expect anywhere from 0.5 to 2 pounds a week, depending on your starting point and how much you have to lose. That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong, that is what true fat loss looks like. And when you understand what those numbers actually mean, it’s just as exciting.

OP, base your loss on week 2-5 or 6. That will be much more accurate than week 1 as once your body finds equilibrium with waterloss and new calorie amount you wont see such big drops and no drop if calories are too high.
You didn't mention if youre tracking calories, if not you want to,start.
