WOMEN AGES 50+ FOR MAY 2025

Hello, all,
Woke up at 2 a.m.; my sleep schedule is a bit off. Mostly because I've slept 20 out of the last 30 hours. That business really knocked me off my pins. Still staggering to the left a bit, but feeling better. Plus, my brain is working a tiny bit better at the moment, so I thought I'd see if my typing fingers work. So far, so good…
Heather - Love the new bedroom look, very cool and peaceful and inviting. So pleased John is letting you get his room sorted, as well. Loved John's doodles. Bright, beautiful colors, love that kind of saturation.
Beth - So glad your hearing has improved so much! Regarding the truck, I've got a rule of three for a vehicle that we're wearing out - after the third major thing goes wrong that's more than a couple hundred to fix, I'm done with it. Until then, I can deal with it. It's kind of a game of chicken. What's going to go first? Your patience or the truck's will to live? 😉
Mo - Your headaches sound awful—but I admit to being a complete weenie when it comes to headaches. Hope things happen soon for your son and husband. It's an interesting job market out there right now.
Lanette - The "slacker" bit made me laugh too. You take all this on the chin long enough, I'd imagine I'll be yelling too. After 15 years, enough of the shine has worn off of how Corey does things, plus the things I see you and Ginny and everyone who's lost a mate have to do, that it's made me do things differently than I might. Like we don't NEED another string trimmer, but I wanted one I can actually use. That one kinda hurt his male pride I'm afraid - but he also went down and trimmed the weeds I wanted cut by the road on Tuesday afternoon when I was resting after the test. With HIS string trimmer and some side-eye thrown my direction. 🤷🏻♀️ Whatever it takes, you know?
Rebecca - That was the exact feeling for six months post-op from the gastric bypass! Hard to explain how much your appetite drives your eating until it goes away. As soon as you've put a small amount of food in, you simply can't think about eating another bite. When you forget to eat at all for the first time in a few dozen years… yeah, it makes a big difference.
Allie - Such a lovely memory of Carmine and your dad. Do you hear anything from her? Delia has such beautiful eyes.
Ginny - I'm seriously contemplating trying needlepoint. Any beginners advice? Almost picked up a kit in Hobby Lobby, but put it back before I left the store. Do you make your own patterns or use kits?
And… yawning again. I think I'll see if I can get a couple more hours of sleep.
Later, my dears,
Love,
Lisa7 -
Allie - beautiful first communion picture. What is there not to like about apple pie?!
Michele - my cats will tolerate some brushing. I really need to brush them more-another thing there just doesn't seem to be time for!
Tracey - enjoy the scrapbook carnival. I know a few ladies who go off every few months for scraping events and they find it fun and relaxing.
Mo - I have found it best to listen to my kids when they care to share and not pry. If they ask for advice I try to base it on my experience in similar situations.
Lisa - I think you are spot on about getting the tools you can handle. My husband always used the large gas trimmers-much too heavy for me to handle. I got a smaller battery powered one that was good for me. If I had gotten it while he was still doing the chore also, the two of us could have gotten things done much quicker. I typically use kits-saves me from having to decide colors, etc, but there is no reason why you can't change those up, especially if you have an artistic eye. I at least need a pattern to follow and I typically have some variations in it (usually from making a counting error!). I preview the counted cross stitch on the Aida cloth to stamped patterns although I have been pleased with some of those (it depends on my patience on keeping stitches even!).
Back first woke me up around 1 am. Came out to chair and used heating pad. Napped there until around 4 and then moved to couch. Am now using ice while catching up here.
Going to drop application for Medicare B off at Social Security office after doctor and on way into office. Miserable cold day here with some rain expected this morning. Definitely strange weather pattern this spring.
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

😀 MIchele, I remember my mother who had five cats say that should would be able to get a lot more done if she didn't have to spend so much time brushing cats. She had only five cats because when the fifth cat came, my father told her that the supply had now exceeded the demand. He was a great cat parent including giving flea baths.
😀 When Jake started sleeping in the other bedroom he chose an adjustable bed so he could raise his head when breathing was a problem. When we got Annie and he moved back to sleep with me in the ordinary king size bed, it was tough for him.
😀 Lanette, Annie looks most like a lab. As she gets older and more calm I see her lying down looking like a typical lab (then she gets crazy and acts like anything but a lab). I know your property is much bigger than mine so you probably need those gas powered yard tools, but I am so grateful that Jake got the battery powered mower and leaf blower. They are easy for me. In another chapter of my life, I had a gas powered mower and trimmer and remember not liking having to carry gasoline in my pristine regularly detailed car.
😀 Lisa, the first time I had difficulty getting my energy back with an illness, Jake reminded me that I wasn't as young as I used to be. At first I was insulted and then realized that he was right and I was no longer in my 30's when a trip to the gym or Jazzercise was the solution to what ailed me. My mother taught me to needlepoint when I was a teenager. I used kits. After awhile I gave it up in favor of knitting. You seem to like variety more than I do. One craft is enough for me.
😀 There are eleven sections to my fence and I've finished washing one. My goal is to wash one a day. It works better if I work on the fence before I get down on the ground to pull weeds. The more I work, the more I realize how much Jake had slowed down in his last years. He watered, pulled a few weeks, mowed, and gave me a lot of directions. I have gradually taken over all the work so it's not too much of a shock.
😀 I cleared out one more cupboard yesterday. One item was worth keeping and the rest are destined to be discarded.

Lucy went to vet yesterday. Turns out she is only 2.5 months old (pound said she was 4). We picked a birthday, she got chipped and her second shot. They told me she would be under 20 pounds. Just the right size, not too small, not too big for our RV. I got her flea meds and heart meds and a clean bill of health. She rides well in the car and was willing to demonstrate her ability to walk on a leash. The were impressed with her ‘smarts’ at her age! Also pre-paid as pound asked for, for her spaying. Now just to bring paperwork to pound. Probably tomorrow as I need to go to the Post office tomorrow.
Results of bloodwork for my kidney doctor came out good, so I am to continue with the 25 MG of Jardiance.
Thought for today:
My husband as me to bring home 6 cans of Sprite from the grocery store.
When I got back home, I realized I made a mistake. I had picked 7 Up!
RVRita in Roswell who is really excited about her trip next week!

Lisa and Kylia - Big excitement on my street yesterday. Roger got a 52" Stihl zero-turn mower. Wow, it's a rugged beast. It was fun watching him figure out how to mow, I coached him. He had driven my Toro across the street earlier this year to give it a tune-up but never engaged the mower deck, and was a little afraid of it. I remember those days of learning how to handle it and being afraid I'd crash it into a tree. He has 2 acres of nice flat lawn similar to Kylia's so he'll be able to zip through it in no time. My Toro is going on its 7th year and has through a lot with all of the bumps and blackberries I force it through. If DH was still here, he'd been itching for a Stihl.😁 Roger said it was his birthday and Christmas present for the next few years.
Debbie - sounds like gardening is full steam ahead! Some of my tomato starts just aren't doing well at all. I've been fertilizing them and setting them out in the sun but they still look stressed. I wonder if there's something in the potting soil I repotted them into that they don't like. The county Master Gardener coordinator called it "killer compost" where aged cow manure was added to potting soil and the animals had eaten hay and grain that had been sprayed with herbicide. 😥
Ginny - I am closely following your mattress/backache saga. I think I mentioned the PT told me to get a Tempurpedic - I have 2 new twin mattresses on the king size bed I bought last year and don't want to spend more $$ on a new mattress when there's no quarantee that would even help. So, I guess if getting up at 3 and sitting in the recliner on a heating pad is my fate, then so be it.
Mo - how well do you think an adjustable bed would work for a bad back? I start out a side-sleeper so not sure about this. And a too-hard mattress hurts my hips.
The more I think about it, maybe it would be better to just get a new recliner, one that fits my back better and is more adjustable.
Barbie - DH had heavy commercial grade gasoline yard tools until his final years and switched to battery powered Ryokis. I tried to use the Ryokis but my hands are so small I couldn't get the batteries out - didn't have the strength to "pinch" the release. So, I got Stihl battery powered tools - leaf blower, small mower to get into places I can't push through with the big mower, and a string trimmer. Love that they all use the same batteries. And are powerful for their size. The Stihl batteries release easily, it must be the design.
When I got the string trimmer, the salesman said it was only for cleaning up around the tulip bed, not cutting big swaths of grass. Little did he know, lol. I went after blackberries with it yesterday. 😁
I did get a Stihl mini chainsaw pruner, but most of the time I can't be bothered to get it out, oil the chain and all that. Easier to grab one of DH's many little pruning saws and go after hard to reach branches.
Ladies - Saw this on FB - here's your morning chuckle!
Missing Re, Annie, Vicki, Rosemarie, Karen and many others! Hope you are all doing well, please catch us up when you get a chance.
That's it for now. Make it a super day!

Hey kids,
Did go back to sleep - needed that, apparently, almost back to my usual energy levels after more than 24 hours sleep in 36, but definitely need to pump up the protein for lunch and keep getting liquid in me any way I can.
Barbie - it's a good read on the situation. The older we get the harder recovery is, and the longer it takes. I also think that dehydration is a thief, almost like alcohol. The more dehydrated you are, the less aware of it you become, because your brain isn't working as well as it should. Because of the gastric bypass restriction, I continually walk along the edge of dehydration, and I just stopped paying attention. I know better.
Lanette - Corey brought new blades home for the zero-turn, but hasn't put them on yet. It's a 48-inch, and cut our time to mow the whole place down from 3 hours down to a bit over an hour. Well, that's how long it takes me, anyway, but I'm not as careful as Cor is. 😜 I also leave a lot more scars in the yard from fast turns than he does, though. They grow over! And I try to make sure I change my directions, so the scars don't go on top of each other… I just call it "giving all the moles a headache." 😀🐈⬛ Our space is flat only in spots. Corey puts that mower at small brush ALL the time. If the front wheels will go through it, he's willing to try it. I have a hard time mowing over anything that makes me flinch when I hit it… It makes mowing fun, as far as I'm concerned, and that's a great thing.
Laundry in the dryer and more to be folded, just going through my day gently today, after trying to play catch up yesterday. Couldn't hang laundry outside, as it's supposed to rain again soon. Time to fold a little laundry and then find some protein.
Love y'all,

UTI still hovering, but I hope I'm winning. Gallons of fizzy water.
I did get out to see G, but neither of us were feeling tip top. Quite early after lunch, I got an Uber over to see Edie, after her return from Madrid. John picked her up from the coach. Her main comments were about the bitchiness of her 6 roommates, the lack of lettuce, and too much Spanish omelette. I think she enjoyed it.
Home for a nap. I took this photo of our newly painted porch.
We won't know ourselves, we are so smart!

I am not a big fan of apple pie, BUT, I love to bake them. That was my dad's favorite pie so I loved baking them for him. Same with lemonade- don't like to drink it but enjoy making it. Dad loved it- lemons from his own tree. Dh and ds enjoy it- use lemons from MIL's tree-need to pick some-they are over ripe and just falling on the ground.
Getting a bit more protein in this week. We went to the KP International Marketplace in Rancho Cordova- picked up a bunch of different cheese they had marked down. 6 slices in each pack for around $1 each- Tried a Russian one on the drive home, just finished a Polish one(had it with crackers for a snack before I went to bed last night). Will pull out another one. Love trying all the new cheese and seeing what we really like. Haven't found one we didn't like.
Worked in the front yard and green house this morning. Transplanted more plants. Counted 17 varieties of tomatoes!! Think I may have over planted but that is ok. I have a bunch of extra plants to give away too. I keep one, maybe two of each variety. A few aren't really big enough to go in the garden yet but they all need to be transplanted into bigger pots.
I need to transplant the flowers and herbs next- carnations(the old fashioned beautiful scented ones) snap dragons, marigolds(the little ones), sage, catnip.
Marigolds and catnip are supposed to be cat safe and flea repellent so planting a lot around their catio.Still to plant- transplant more cucumbers and dill. Will plant some dill seed too- want extra.
Okra, carrots, ?? Need to pull out my seeds tonight- cant remember what else I want to plant.
Will see how many more empty pots I have in the back gardenPlan on going up to mom's on Tues. morning to take a bunch of tomato plants to her. I usually go on the weekends but busy the next few weeks and the plants need to go in the gound.
Going to go walk the wetlands in half an hour. Only 6 more times before Ezie is out for the summer. I will miss my walks but, it is also getting hot and there is basically no shade for 80% of the walk. Thankful for the nice breeze off the river when we get it.

I love that saying- I can say for sure- the supply has more than exceeded the demand here.
I told dh when he was talking about totally retiring(he retired 10yrs ago at 52yrs old but has been working part time) that he can't retire- he needs to keep working just to pay for the cat stuff- food/litter/vet bills/etc.5 -
I am having a problem with some of my starts not doing much- and I bought the more expensive starter soil. Going to transplant into bigger pots and see if they start growing more. I have plenty of plants so not going to be a big deal if they don't all grow. I do want the catnip to start growing so I can transplant it.

rest up and you'll get back up to speed. 💖. Today was dose 2 and taking it out and letting the dose get to room temperature seems to be less weird. Not like a cold alien taking over my body.😂. I was able to inject myself with much fanfare. The first time I had the blasted thing unlocked, and I was frozen in fear (of the unknown). But this wasn't anything like that. The fact that I woke up singing "Happy Dose Day to ooo meeee", that helped.
I am putting in the work to make this medicine work well. I am down 7.4 lbs. It was easy, but it wasn't. I am hoping to not have an extra sore day tomorrow, but if I am, I will be ready. I took a really hot shower last time so that helped.

Well I amended my dinner because I added 1/3 of a bag of Taylor farms salad kit in there too. Took out the yogurt.
Its quite yummy! I added the toppings so I have some crunchy bits in there. Love these salad kits. I might not ever buy a head of lettuce again!

Lanette - the meeting notice made me laugh! I have shared it with several people!I also have been think of Julie (bananas and oranges) in France. Have sent a couple of messages but no reply.
Lisa - glad you are rebounding.
Heather - love the door color.
Barbie - I have thought about the adjustable bed in terms of breathing (no doubt since I recently had lung surgery)-that would be a definite reason to get one.
Rita - congratulations on bloodwork!
Debbie - I admire your dedication to the plants.
Rebeca - happy shot day!
Terri - nice to see you checking on us
Regarding my back - Nurse practitioner listened very thoroughly, she was in agreement with my thought more muscle than nerve. Gave me shot of toradol and a cortisone shot. That started providing some pretty quick relief. Stopped and got x ray. Only thing they really saw (except for old compression factor which is healed and looks stable) is a bit of scoliosis (right in the area I am having pain). It is 11 degrees so can be annoying but nothing that needs alot of intervention. We will knock back this flair up and continue with stretches, etc. (she gave me some she recommends) and when needed use antinflamatories when it acts up. Get X-ray every 5 years or so to see if changes. Still haven't decided on bed. Oh-and she ordered muscle relaxer. Pharmacy out of them-get script tomorrow. Will use them several nights to see if we get this knocked out. I think the rest of the chest trauma recently contributed so thankful it is one of those things and nothing that needs any action.
Left work early today (the shots and not sleeping last night had me really tired). Work from home tomorrow. Will do laundry during the day. Watching granddaughter Saturday through Monday am-son and DIL going to the Indy 500.
Well, hopefully the workers in the basement leave soon. I told them from the start that 8-8:30 is latest for me.
Take care all,

I have always had a garden. Always a different size. Growing up we always had an acre- mom still plants almost 1/2 that. The smallest was when former hubby and I lived on base- I had half a dozen planter boxes. The only time I didn't have a garden was the year he and I got married. Moved across the country to Mobile AL. I got there July 4th so too late to plant. I really missed it. We were transferred back to CA and we moved on base. The next house had a huge yard. I loved that garden. Not as big as mom and dad's but plenty big enough and he worked the ground for me and helped in the garden a little. Current dh does not have any inclination to help what so ever- says it is my thing.

Good Night, my friends;
Ginny, you are right; I must let DS make his own mistakes and decisions. I will keep savings for him if he needs money. I learned a lot from my mistakes, and maybe I should let both of my kids learn from theirs. Julia is still learning from hers. I ran out of gas in nursing school and had a big test to study for. I asked my dad if I could borrow his car to get gas to put in my car so I could go to the study lab. My dad said no, so I had to walk to Kmart and get a gas jug, and then I had to walk to Arco to get gas. Then I walked to my car to put gas in. After all of that, the study lab was closed. I never ran out of gas again (so far). Julia always ran out of gas and had to call on Triple-A for gas, or DH would also bail her out. She continued to run out of gas. No lesson was learned. She wasn't any better at car maintenance, either. Getting oil changes. Now she doesn't have a car. DS needs to learn from his mistakes, too.
Ginny and Lanette, I love my adjustable bed; it was free. DH had to use the products he promoted, so the companies provided us with these products, including our Stearns and Foster. I like the adjustable bed for sitting up and reading or watching TV. Pillows can adjust that as well. DH likes the bed flat, so I used the pillows. The adjustable bed does not help with back pain. I have sciatica, and exercise helps. Motrin, and my muscle relaxer. Linament and my heating pad also help. I ruptured my disk trying to lift a 15-year-old football player that weighed 315. During Covid, we had a skeletal staff, so no one was around to help me with him. A good mattress is what helps, too.
Lisa, I am a wimp when it comes to my headaches, too. I shut down and need no stimuli. Just a cold, dark, quiet room helps. DH doesn't understand. I don't want to be touched or held. Just leave me alone. I was coming on with a headache at work. And a parent came out yelling at me as I was taking medicine to get it under control. He was saying F this and that. He told me on the intercom that his daughter's pump was beeping. I told the nurse, and she said she's got it. So I didn't worry about it. So, he came out, and I told him that I needed to talk to the nurse to see what to do for his child's IV. He asked why I can't do it now. I explained that I needed to know what was next with blood products. He didn't even hear me. He just started yelling.
I got up to find out what Kelly needed, and he slammed the door on me. So I told her to handle it cause he was rude. The day nurse told me to hide, and I said no, I won't. I will call BRT on him if he tries to hit me. My head was throbbing, and I had tears in my eyes. I refused to cry cause I knew it would hurt worse. I was mad at Kelly cause I felt she should have told me what I could do to help if her other patient went downhill. Communication could have helped to avoid the drama.Debbie, did your first husband die? If not, what happened to him?
Rebecca, your salad looks good. I made a pizza with one thin Keto sandwich. I opened it up and put it on parchment paper for easy cleanup. I put Rao's pizza sauce on it, then spinach, onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheese, and grilled chicken. It was excellent.
Allie, I love the photography done on your grand. Who took the pictures?
Barbie, I was talking to my dad today and thought about you talking to Jake. My dad was always wise, and I miss his advice. The drawer in my bedroom opened without rhyme or reason, so I started talking to my dad.
Have a good night, everyone. Sleep well.
XO,
Mo in Mississippi

Barbie: I think you are doing a grand job of adapting to you solo life. Talking to Jake is quite normal. I often talk to people who have gone before me. It’s comforting.
Lisa: Hope You are back to normal pronto.
Heather: Such an elegant bedroom. And the porch looks great.
Rebecca: I love that you’re adapting the plan to suit your individual taste.
We are working flat out while the weather holds to get our garden sorted for summer. I am feeling it in my muscles 😝🤗🤗🤗 and 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for those who need them.

Hello everyone!
This thread is exactly what I am looking for! I am 52 and married to a man (3rd marriage, my 1st husband and I got married when I was just 19 and divorced when I was 29, my second husband and I were together 15 years before he passed away from stomach cancer, Rich and I have been together for 4 years now). I have always been overweight as an adult and now that I am hitting middle age I want to get a grip on it before it takes over. All my Aunts were thin until their 50's and then all of the sudden (probably not but as a kid it seemed like it happened overnight 🤣🤣) they were large. Maybe I am crazy to think I can change genetics but I'm going to try.
Anyway, I'm looking for some friends that will talk about replacing their vacuum and support when bad things happen but still talk about weight loss struggles as well! The motivation threads that are just about weight loss but don't have answers when life gets in the way!! Not that I am looking to make excuses of course but my weight loss journey isn't as easy as all that and I can't always share with my DH or friends.
Sorry for so much information but I want to be as upfront as possible!
Mandy from New Haven CT

Hi, Mandy, and welcome! Make sure you can find your way back to us by either bookmarking the thread on your computer browser, or by going to Community on MyFitnessPal, community.myfitnesspal.com/en/, and finding the Motivation and Support Category. We're always near the top in that category, and easy to find.
Heads up, our Barbie ( @barbiecat ) will post the June thread the last evening of this month, and we start over clean each month. One of our long-time posters likens this thread to a cafe - sit in on any conversation you want, ask a question, let us know how you're doing, add your own advice when you're ready! It's a wide-ranging group of women from the US, the UK, Ireland and Australia, welcoming and supportive. We do avoid religion and politics in order to keep this a safe place for everyone to come and talk about their lives—because we've all come to realize it's not just about diets and exercise, it takes an entire lifestyle change to reach the healthy goals we all have.
Don't feel you have to respond to everyone! A few of us do, but most of us don't. And don't be upset if you don't get a quick answer to a response, there will almost always be some response from one or more, but due to the way the technology works, there may be another five posts put up, (or even another page of posts!) within a half hour of yours.
We're glad you're here, please do stay. It seems like we're a good fit for what you are looking for. There are regular posters who are in their 50s, 60s and 70s out in front of you, and nearing 80s if not already there!
Warmest regards,
Lisa in AR8 -

Working & Exercising & Attempting to make some headway with my home Things To Do list.
Today's bicycle ride …
Annual check-up today at doctor - BP is normal!! 132/70. It hasn't been that low for quite a while. It had been sitting at about 145/85 for years. Maybe the drop has something to do with my recent weight loss.
I still have my bloodwork to do.
And my "poo test" will come up in a couple months. NOT a colonoscopy. They don't do those here unless they find something on the "poo test". I'm hoping I never have a colonoscopy.

Welcome Mandy!
Mo… You are so right that we have to let our kids make their own mistakes. I confess I often over-protected my boys. My older son didn't need me to do that and I should never have done it with my younger son. So sorry you get so many migraines.
Tracey … the shower door is supposed to arrive on the 27th so hopefully by the end of next week I can share my "ta da" photo of the renovated bathroom!
Lisa … we follow a similar rule regarding older vehicles. This time, husband's truck required a starter. Not a huge expense in the scheme of things. In the past he would have replaced it himself, but his back is preventing him from work like that. We know the truck is starting to leak oil, but otherwise it's in really good shape. Tracey … we tend to keep vehicles way past trade-in value, but I was hoping my husband would go for one of the Chevy truck deals going on in May, but no go.
I am so jealous of all of you getting yard work and gardening done. It has been rainy and soggy here for weeks! I'm just watching every green thing grow … including the weeds! Michelle … the onion grass weeds came up and looked ugly and now have yellowed and died. Of course those little menacing bulbs are still under ground and will resurrect their heads again in the fall.
I am struggling with my commitment to eating right and lowering my weight again. Sometimes I think why bother … I'm destined to be big. But I know that's a lie, so each morning I start again. I see my primary doctor again in July and need to get my act straight. Right now my son has decided to get serious about his weight loss efforts, going so far as to get up an hour early each morning to exercise before work. I won't sabotage his efforts by bringing in junk food so at least there's none of that around for me to get into.
No plans for Memorial Day Weekend and it will be raining until Sunday afternoon so may tackle the basement and look for items to put in our church's upcoming garage sale. There's plenty to choose from!
Have a good day!
Beth near Buffalo

😀 Mandy, Welcome. I think you have come to the right place. I found this thread at age 62 and have been reading it every morning with my breakfast. I got the idea of the same breakfast every morning from someone on this thread and it has been a good strategy for me—no planning necessary. I have changed a lot about my life so I live a more healthy life style now. Healthy is not just about losing weight, it's also about nutrition and exercise.

Heather - the porch is beautiful and love the blue door!! I need to have my doors repainted and might pick something other than white this time thanks to your inspiration. The house is yellow, so maybe a green?
Mandy - welcome, yes we talk about vacuum cleaners, mattresses and cleaning toilets, lol. Lisa and Barbie have very nicely summed up what I was going to say! I'm old enough to be your aunt and have some of that middle-aged spread too. I don't think it's genetics as much as hormonal changes after menopause - this seems to happen to human females in all cultures, nature has done this for some reason. 🤨 Do you currently have a "diet" plan? Are you looking for suggestions? And your aunts - what's the state of their health these days and is your mother still living and if so, how's she doing? I didn't have aunts but took note of my mom's health as she aged as an indicator of what I needed to be aware of and focus on. Losing the extra pounds isn't the primary target anymore for me. Cutting out sugar and keeping strong and flexible is!
I'm heading to town soon, looking forward to my monthly lunch with M. She's a few years older than me and still very sharp and a great conversationalist. Rosie and the hens don't give me much intellectual stimulation and I need that sometimes.
Looks like several days of warm (70's F- low 80's) weather coming up so I'll get to plant my rear on the mower. And prune! I need to get a photo of the chicken run to share with you - it's shaded by a huge comfrey plant and the Gravenstein apple tree that is loaded this year. Ack! don't want it to tip and smash the girls' playpen. I don't have a three legged ladder but can reach pretty high with DH's long handled pruners to start thinning. I'm glad the tree is healthy but come'on, lol.
Better hit the shower. More later. Make it a fabulous day!
